Ipod Touch 5 will no longer sync after update 7.1.2

After updating from iOS 7.1.1 to 7.1.2 my Ipod touch 5th gen no longer syncs with my iTunes 11.3.1.1 when connecting it to my computer (windows 8.1) what comes up on my touch's screen is "trust this computer?" I press the "trust" button then a few seconds later I get the disconnected tone from my computer and nothing else happens (it still charges) and just checked it out on my Windows 7 computer (iTunes 11.3.1.2)and it recognized it fine (but the other computer has my playlists) I've tried updating to iTunes 11.3.1.2, updating iPod drivers and uninstalling then re-installing iPod drivers and iTunes is still not connecting to my iPod. Help please.

On your computer go to the control panel (hover in the lower right corner) then programs, add/remove programs
Uninstall iTunes, Apple Mobile Device Service, Apple Application Support then go to apple.com and redownload and reinstall iTunes and try again.
You won't lose any content, you're not deleting that, just the programs that access them.
What is thought to happen is that sometimes a new version of itunes doesn't update the drivers in those other two programs. The only way to update the drivers is to force it by uninstalling the programs which allows itunes to write the correct ones.
My iPad and iPod did exactly the same thing and this is how I fixed it.

  • Ipod Touch 4g will no longer sync with iTunes - help!!!

I have an iPod Touch 4 and am using the latest version of iTunes 11.0.2.26 but can no longer get my ipod to sync with itunes.  When I click on Sync I get the message 'waiting for changes to be applied' then 'finished' but it does not sync.  I have completely restored my ipod and have uninstalled iTunes, Apple Update, Quicktime, Bonjour, Apple Mobile Device Support before reinstalling iTunes.  All my music in iTunes is from my own library rather than purchased from iTunes.  It all used to work fine and I feel I've exhausted all my knowledge in fixing this and need some assistance.  Can anyone help?

Seems like you've tried the most important steps in troubleshooting, so that's good.
What I'm wondering is: when you deinstalled iTunes and all those other things, did you do it in a specific order, according to http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923 for windows Vista/windows 7 or http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1925  for windows XP  ? I don't see Apple Application Support in the list of components you deleted. I would recommend removing everything again in the specific order using the article you need and trying again to sync.
Also: try creating another user account on your computer and syncing again, because sometimes software issues are user-wide.
hope this helps, keep me posted

  • 3rd generation ipod touch that will no longer sync but charges

I have a 3rd generation ipod touch.  It was syncing to my itunes just fine and then one day it stopped syncing.  It shows that its charging but never syncs anything.  When i click to do a manual sync, it goes through the process but does not transfer any music.  Any suggestions.  I am running windows 7 64bit if that makes any difference with the newest version of itunes.

  • Ipod touch 4g will not wall charge after update

just bought an ipod touch 4g and when i updated it the ipod would no longer charge from any usb wall plug. the only way it will charge is from the computer wich is a huge issue for me becouse i travel alot and i have and apple wall charger so i dont get the point of the update to restrict the actual mobility of the device. please fix the issue with the ios update so use with wall chargers returns becouse it defeats the whole idea of a moble device if you have to carry around a computer to charge it.

You are not addressing Apple in this forum. We are just users like yourself.
Tell use the specifics about the wall charger that will not work.

  • My ipod touch(4th gen)no longer syncs to itunes 10.7 via USB

My ipod touch(4th gen)no longer syncs to itunes 10.7 via usb. i knew it didn't work via wifi with the new updates but this is too far. i can't see it in itunes at all anymore. i restarted my ipod already still with no results. the only thing i did is create and delete playlist from the ippd and deleted others from itunes as well. i've done it before but this time i assume it's led to this. any suggestions?

Disregard. It seems i just needed to install an optional update with windows update. either that or just restart my computer instead of my ipod. silly me.

My iPod Touch 4S is no longer able to update applications (They just sit and wait forever).  How do I fix this?

restore or reset your ipod. there is a problem with ipods atm so the best you can do is wait if neither restoring or reseting works.

  • TS4062 After installing the lastest update to my ipod touch I can no longer sync my ipodto my computer no matter what I do.  I believe it has to do with the password for my ipod and the possibly the password for my itune account.  If anybody has any sugge

After installing the latest update to itunes, and my ipod, I can no longer sync my computer and my ipod nomatter what I do.  I have tried everything I know and can read.  I am beginning to think it has something to do with the password that I changed, but I tried to change it back and nothing happens.  Does anybody have any suggestions.  I have been working on this for three hours and I can't figure it out?  Apple is no help and it was their updates that messed the whole thing up.

  • Ipod Touch 5th gen won't sync after iOS update

iPod Touch will not sync after iOS 7 update. It's stucked at "changes are being applied" and won't go past that point. Tried 5 times and got the same problem. I have the latest iTunes installed.
    Any suggestions?

Try a cold reboot of your phone / iPod. I.e. hold power + home button until it reboots.
    Worked for me.

  • IPod touch 3g will not wifi sync... why?

I recently updated to iOS5, not without its hassles, I might add. I now have 2 major problems.
The first one is whatever I do, I cannot wirelessly sync my iPod touch 3g... even though I've reinstalled iTunes (verison 10.5.0.142) and Bonjour too... and manually configured the services so they can get to the open router and also get through Windows Firewall, but still, the inbound connection must be blocked somehow as the iPod is waiting to see if my computer is "available"... I have seen many threads about this, and I know it is not just me that's having this problem.
Secondly, all the songs on my iPod (the ones that iTunes actaully lets me sync...) are all in the wrong order alphabetically in the music app... to give you an example, under the letter T in artists, I have Led Zeppelin, Nirvana and Metallica. Granted, Metallica has a T in it, but this not exactly what this menu is supposed to do...
Any solutions would greatly be appreciated.

I got it to work using a different method... but I shall post it here to help everyone else.
Uninstall every trace of iTunes and Bonjour (if your on windows). Then do a registry clean, making sure missing links is checked... then reinstall iTunes, sync your iPod once, and then it will appear in iTunes
This is the registry cleaner I use.

My Ipod wouldn't sync new music I put added to my playlists so I restored my Ipod to it's original settings because I felt it was needed. Now after my Ipod is done it's restoration I tried to resync. Still won't work and I'm baffled as to what could be the problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    It's Ipod Touch 4th gen, 32gb.

    Hi LittleBear,
Can you describe your problem further? Are you getting any error messages in iTunes? Just appearing to sync as normal?

  • Ipod touch 5 will not turn on after i0s7.4 update!

My ipod 5 will not turn on or register as being plugged into the computer. It was working perfectly fine last night. I plugged it in to charge and updated it to ios7.4 and now it doesn't turn on or show the battery sign. What do i do?

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

After I upgraded my iPod Touch to the new 2.1 version I am having all kinds of issues with it. Either it won't charge, says it has no media files, is not connected or device is not supported. Anyone have the same problem. Is there a way of reverting to the old software?

  • IPod touch practically will not do anything after 1.1.5 update was installe

Ok, so i have a first gen iPod touch which was running off the 1.1.1 firmware since i first got it, but i recently upgraded it to 1.1.5 and a few major errors occured.
    1. it appears to have wiped all my music/videos off there, as when i try and access either of them it takes me to a blank screen for about 2 seconds then back to the home screen, yet it still says capacity available is only 145mb??
    2. the ipod will not connect to my PC or laptop via itunes. it does however charge when attatched to the computer.
any suggestions as to what is going on?? any help would be appreciated!!

Try running the iPod reset utility to restore your iPod. Here's how:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1238
I'm not sure what major errors occurred but when you try this again, turn off your anti-virus and firewall while you do the update.

  • IPod Touch 2nd gen no longer syncs with itunes?

I just recently upgraded to Snow Leopard.
Now my ipod touch won't sync to itunes. It syncs with iphoto, although I can't put new albums on it. It doesn't allow me to 'sync ipod' in the itunes menu. And it doesn't automatically sync like it used to. I can't even update my ipod to a newer version, because it won't sync.
I also don't know if I can update to the newer 5.0 system, as this is an older ipod touch. (2nd generation)
Please help. Do I have to reinstall itunes, etc. to get this to work??

    - A 2G iPod can only go to iOS 4.2.1
    - Try the following:
iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: Device not recognized in iTunes for Mac OS X

  • My 4th gen ipod touch imessage will no longer work

Hello, My 4th generation ipod touch imessage last month has stopped working. I have tried every trick in the book from signing in and out of imessage, facetime, my apple account. Resetting settings, and i even backed up my data to my pc and factory reset my itouch. And now my itouch wont even show my previous message history i've had saved. When i attempt to message someone it shows a red exclamation mark and says my message can't be sent. And i've had a friend sit next to me and send me a imessage, it'll register it's sent from them but i will never receive it.
How can i get my imessage to work again, theirs some important people who are deployed who i am only able to communicate via imessage with.
And also how can i get my previous messages and saved history to show up, i know i backed them up but i have no idea how to access them anymore.
    Thank you- Marco
