IPod Touch 5th gen - GPS Very Vague / Not Working Well at All

I've been trying to use the NavFree GPS app on my new iPod touch 5th generation.
All I can say is that it sort-of works - in so much as it displays the vague vicinity I'm in within a few streets, however most of the time it just seems to be constantly hunting around for a location and is useless in the car for actual real-time directions - which seem to be randomly thrown out every now and then.
I've tried locating it in numerous places on the windscreen and on the dashboard but it hasn't made any difference whatsoever. Also when using it out in the open in walking mode, it will locate me for a moment then will wander off again and will start to show me standing in numerous different streets and places nearby.
I'm very disappointed at the moment because I purchased the full version with all the extras thinking that I've solved my sat-nav needs, but it's unusable as it is.
Can anyone help me with fixing this?

The iPod touch does not have a GPS radio. For location it relies upon the locations of nearby wifi routers that are in Apple database of routers and their locations. Thus, this app/the iPod alone without a real GPS accessory, works very poorly in a car since it really can't see may wifi routers and without a internet connection, can't access the Apple database to try to locate new routers that it finds.

You could also do some research on third party services that will actually repair the damaged component for a little less than what you would pay if you went the Apple route. A Google search for "iPod Nano repair service" should give you a number of results to work with.

How do you reset your iPod Touch 5th Gen if you do not know the restrictions password?

I have an iPod Touch 5th Generation and i need to reset it because i am having issues with it not loading basically anything since i did the update. I don't know the restrictions passcode so i was wondering if there was any way to reset it without the password.

Brand New Ipod touch 4th gen right earphone jack not working out of the box. Bought at Wal-Mart yesterday. Are we missing something in the set up or should we return it?

We just purchased an ipod touch 4th gen 8 gb from Wal Mart. OUt of the box the right headphone is not working. Tried numerous pairs of headphones..tried the mono settings and nothing is working. Is there a setting we are missing or should we just return it?

If the headphone plug is fully inserted, I would return the iPod for a replacement

Try disabling the computer's antivirus and firewall.

Place the iPod in recovery mode after the firmware download is complete and then restore using the instructions in the article. Sometimes recovery mode timeouts and returns to disabled before the firmware download is complete.

when i open up the camera app it just freeze and turns me back to main menu. flashlight didnt work either
i did a research on the forums and foudn some solutions, and i managed to get the front camera one time to work. but i couldnt get it anymore. what i did it was just to press where the picture below shows

- Try another cable
- Try on another computer

IPod touch 5th gen back camera won't work

Whenever i open the camera app the shutter stays on but on FaceTime, the front camera works perfectly. (I already tried resetting it and backing it up) I really don't want to go to the apple store to fix it. Thanks!

Ipod touch 5th gen says not able to charge when imusing the cable that came with it

My Ipod touch 5th gen says charging is not supported with this accessory when the cord im using is a cable that came with it and the cable is less the 5 days old. i also know the usb slot works for powering the ipod because it was before. i have treid useing different ports on more than one computer but with no luck. any help would be lovely

Ipod touch 5th gen dies within 2 mins of not being pluged in

i got a ipod touch 5th gen for christmas and it worked great up until the last 2 months or so i will charge it all night and in the morning i will unplug it and check facebook and before i can even open the app it will die and wont turn on until i plug it in again. So whats the problom is it the battery or ios 7 and i didnt get water or anything on it so its not shorting out or anything like that. maybe theres somthing they changed in the 5th gen battery that doesnt work right. someone help!!

IPod touch 5th gen... play all songs on all albums by an artist in album order?

On my old ipod classic I can play all songs on all albums by an artist in album order. Is there a way to do this on the ipod touch 5th gen? I can see how to play all songs by an artist but only in alphabetical order, not one album after another...

You can't please everyone ... some people want to be able to find a particular song by an artist and can't remember the name of the album from which it comes. By sorting all songs by an artist alphabetically you can go right to it. But I agree with you, I'd much prefer album order. Submit your feedback via the link provided, and yes the workaround is to create an On The Go playlist, or create one in iTunes.

i keep getting an error when i plug in my new ipod touch 5th gen. Itunes could not backup ipod because the ipod is disconnected. my ipod is not disconnected its connected. ive tried following some of the other posts and that didnt help. its only 2 weeks old.

Having real issues with my iPod touch 5th gen touchscreen not responding when it's on charge. Parts of the screen go dead or need several taps etc. Tried removing case etc. made sure I'm using included charger and directly to the mains not on an extension. Is it faulty?

If i factory reset my ipod touch(5th gen), can i reset it as the option 'set up as new ipod', and then i can just go into the app store/itunes store and restore my music and apps and not icloud with photos and ect?

The reason i asked this question is because i have been wondering this a lot ever since i got an exchange on this ipod (and ive only had it for a few weeks now) because my last ipod had a lot of problems. so after i restored my ipod with my computer/itunes, i downloaded apps that i wanted, and then when i went to the storage to see how much storage was left, it said 0 bytes. i was freaking out because i didnt know how that could be, i mean, cause like, that is impossible when i just 'purchased' it, that the space was full but i looked and all my pictures were on this ipod and i already put them on my computer so i dont need them anymore thats why i wanna reset it now so there is nothing on it so i can have more space for stuff to do and download on it.
it is updated to iOS 8 but that happened when i purchased it, so i didnt have a choice to update it even though i didnt want to update to iOS 8...

Hey Sierra, You can do just what you have stated. My question, what is your "other"? If it is over 1.5 GB you most likely have corrupt files. Doing a Restore to New, Factory restore should correct it. Just make sure you make a full backup of all information on your iPod to your computer before you restore, so you don't lose your stuff, contacts, videos, pictures, non-iTunes music, etc, use the cable and connect with your computer. Then, via cable, connect to your computer, run the Restore to new, don't use your backup. Treat this iPod as if it was your first one ever. When restore is done, set up and add what info you wish to install on this iPod. The music apps etc you purchased should be on your computer, if not you should be able to retrieve purchased apps and music from iTunes. Any music, videos, apps not purchased from iTunes will be lost to you if you do not save them to your computer or the cloud first. When your done, make a current Backup and you should good to go. Why does my Ipod touch 5th gen not sync podcasts with my Windows Itunes? Both are up to date with versions.

I didn't see this asked so sorry if this is a duplicate question.
In Itunes (it is the most recent version for windows available as of 2/12/2014) all my podcasts are showing they have downlaoded to my PC. They don't have the little cloud next to them. I sync my Ipod touch 5th gen. The sync shows everything was synced. I look at the "Whats on this ipod" tab and they are listed. But when I disconnect the ipod via the "eject" icon on the Ipod button in itunes and look at the podcasts they still show as not downloaded (greyed out and if wifi is turned on the little cloud is next to them ).
So whats going on? I had this issue with my ipod touch 4th gen as well and though it was because the podcast app stopped upgrading but the itunes on windwos did. But the syncing of the podcasts are even worse with the 5th gen then they were with the 4th gen.
I typically don't have wifi turned on since I want to sync the ipod via itunes. So I have a central place to keep the old podcasts without having to take space on the ipod itself. I saw some references to the downloading of podacasts are done only via wifi, but that just didn't make sense. Why be able to sync Itunes if they are just going to turn around and make you do the same on the device?
Any ideas? Suggestions?
