IPod Touch 5th Gen iOS 6 Updates Screen is Blank (White)

The indicator verifies that I have 15 Updates but my iPod Touch 5th Gen w/ iOS 6 just started showing a blank white screen for the updates screen.
I've tried powering off and back on, resetting (pushing both buttons for 10 seconds), syncing, transferring purchases, and the wifi reset trick, but none of these things makes any difference to the issue.
I saw thousands of posts in various forums that this has been affecting people for over a year.  Someone must have found a fix by now that works.  This is a new problem to me, but chances are the real fix will work if someone can share it.  Any one know?  Thanks!

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • New iPod Touch 5th Gen- iOS 7.0.6 major battery drain.

    iPod Touch 5th Gen, 32GB
Have all the major known drainers off: such as Reduce Motion, Location Services, Notifications, Bluetooth, etc.
    Was at 100% this a.m.
    Usage: 2 hours, 9 minutes
Standby Mode: 11 hours, 45 minutes.
It was at 65% 4 minutes ago. 4 minutes later, it's at 60 % battery, and it wasn't even on.
I always turn it off when not in use and turn wifi off.
Only used to send texts via iMessage and take a few photos today.
    Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks.

  • My iPod touch (5th gen) was updated today to iOS 7.1 and now my charger isn't working. I bought my charger on eBay after the one I received from Apple stopped working. Help?

I've been using a charger I bought off of eBay for cheap because the one I received with my iPod had stopped working, so instead of paying for a new Apple cord, I went with the cheaper option. It has been working fine up until today. I updated my iPod today to iOS 7.1 and now it won't recognize the cord at all. I'm wondering if anyone had any answers to why this is happening? Or if you have any suggestions as to how I could charge my iPod until I purchase a new cord. Is it smarter to go with an Apple cord, or can I stick with other manufactorers?

The iOS update made the iPod less tolerent of marginal/fake Lightning cables. All you can do is get a certified Lightning cable. I would get a genuine Apple cable.

  • IPod Touch 5th Gen.: Repair or Replacement?

Since my iPod was unable to turn on (only a red battery icon shown), I took it to an Apple Authorized Service Provider, after few days of checking they said it had a hardware problem and I would get a replacement. The thing is I really don't want to replace my iTouch at all costs, repairing it for a minor fee would be better because I don't want to lose all of my data which (and the iPod itself) means so much to me.
I looked up on Apple's website and  from what I understood there seemed to be a repair for iPod Touch for $149 (no charge for the in-warranty), but the customer service supporter at the AASP told me replacement was the only choice. I'm unsure what to do now.
I kindly ask somebody to just, enlighten me; I really hope I do not need to replace my iPod (or if I have to, how could I get a new iPod for replacement (a refurbished one with implicit problems will take so much time to be re-replaced)? And how long would the replacement one be covered by Apple's warranty?). Thanks in advance.
iPod Touch 5th Gen., iOS 7.1, in-warranty until Jan 2015.

Apple does not fix your iPod. They exchange it for a refurbished one of same model and capacity.  That is Apple's business/repair model.
In the USA, I would make an an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. Most likely I wood walk out with the replacement iPod.
If I send it in in the USA
How long will my iPod service take?
Service arranged through Apple normally takes approximately one week. If your iPod is personalized, you can expect service to be completed within approximately ten calendar days from the time you send your iPod to Apple.

  • Ipod touch 5th gen wont send or receive texts while connected to specific internet

My iPod touch 5th gen (iOS 8.3) won't send or receive texts from my home internet. iMessage works everywhere else except for at home and I am wondering if anyone else has had a similar problem or if it has more to do with the actual internet connection. Up until a week ago I could send and receive messages but out of nowhere it stopped working. Everyone else's Apple devices (primarily iMessage) in my family work fine but my iPods iMessage won't work.
Safari works and all of my internet required apps work as well excluding iMessage.
If anyone has a solution or advice it would be much appreciated.
I've tried resetting my settings, network settings, signing out of my Apple ID, and making sure I have the correct time and date. I have reset my interent multiple times too.
    Thanks.

Sure sounds like that the networks is blocking the ports required by Messages. See:

  • IPod Touch (5th Gen) and iOS 6.0.1 Update

I'm having some problems with upgrading my iPod Touch (5th Gen) to iOS 6.0.1.
The iPod is currently stuck in the mode where it shows the connect to iTunes symbol. When I connect to it to iTunes on my MacBook Pro, I am asked to 'Restore and Update' which I click. The update file downloads, but as soon as it completes, it disappears and never installs. I then have no choice but to start again which results in exactly the same problem. I don't seem to be able to restore the iPod without downloading the latest software.
    Does anyone have any advice?
    Thanks.

Try placing in DFU mode and then restoring.
