IPod Touch 5th Gen: No Wifi Connection

Recently, there was a small update for the iPod touch, iPhone 4 and newer as most of you may know. It was just a bug fix, nothing more than just a few simple things Apple must have wanted to fix.
Just after this update, I noticed that my Wifi connection was REALLY bad, and then a day or two afterwards, my iPod would lose connection for a few minutes, connect again, and then lose the connection (It would repeat this all the time.)
Yesterday, I lost wifi completely. When I swipe up from the bottom of the screen where you can access flashlight, camera, calculator, airplane mode etc. I saw that the Wifi icon was a dark grey, and could not be tapped on and wouldn't respond. I know that it isn't my Wifi router, because I went to my friends house (they have fully functional wifi) and it was the same there. My computer could access wifi just fine, and my friend had wifi on her iPod 4.
What is happening?! I've tried everything (resetting my iPod, resetting the Network, turning my iPod all the way off, iTunes and everything is fully updated) and I can't seem to get it to work.
And when I reset my iPod, it froze and I had to reboot using my computer.
I can't even check to see if there is a new update (7.1.2?) because I dont have wifi!
Is this a common bug? Or is it just my iPod. My dad has the iPhone 5 and his is working fine.
HELP!

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.
iOS: Forgot passcode or device disabled
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

To restore from backup see:

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
If problem what happens or does not happen and when in the instructions? When you successfully get the iPod in recovery mode and connect to computer iTunes should say it found an iPod in recovery mode.

I have a problem with my iPod touch 5th gen. When connected to my computer my music playlist will show and play no problem. When I disconnect my iPod from my computer go into my music, my music playlist disappears. Do anyone have a solution. Thank U!

When I connect my iPod to my Mac Book Pro laptop my music that I've transferred to my iPod and music playlist will appear in my iTunes my music will play with no problem. - Unsync/delete all music and resync
To delete all music go to Settings>General>Usage>Storage>Manage Storage>Music>Tap edit in upper right and then tap the minus sign by All Music
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup. See:

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
However, there seems to be a bug in iOS 8 or iTunes 12.1.1 that cause this problem and I have not seen a solution

Hi everybody. I got a new iPod touch 5g and it won't show up in iTunes when I try to connect it. I've reset it, tried a different cord, tried updating both iTunes and my iPod and also have tried everything the Apple support page has suggested (restart computer, soft reset of iPod, etc.). The iPod shows up under "My Computer" as a camera, but under "Devices" in iTunes it doesn't show up at all. I can't attempt a restore or anything that requires using iTunes to fix this problem obviously considering my iPod won't even show up in iTunes, so if you please, don't just reply to this saying "Restore it with iTunes" or "Try syncing it". It's impossible to sync/restore through iTunes when your iPod doesn't actually show up in iTunes.

After updating to iOS 8.1.1 I found that my iPod would no longer appear in the latest version of iTunes and when I searched for Apple Mobile Device usb driver in the device manager, it was nowhere to be found. Ipod touch 5th gen won't connect/open with itunes

I just got my ipod touch less than a month ago and it was charging perfectly well until today. At first it didn't want to charge, but I went to device manager and updated the usb cable for the ipod (it says Apple ipod). Now the ipod charges but it doesn't open with itunes instead it opens to a totally different file on my computer. When I go to itunes, I get no response from it.

im trying to connect to itunes to sync and save a back up of my ipod
ive used 3 different cables and done all the steps suggested by apple but it still does not connect to itunes
i need to save a back up in the next few days because i might be getting a replacement later on the week

I just got this it ouch yesterday. Apple keeps asking me to enter my password for my apple I'd I changed the email along time ago. Well I plugged it into my computer and nothing It won't charge or even show up. Just brought a new ipod touch 5th gen, and when i connect it with my cable on my windows 8 hp laptop it will recognise it on my laptop in my computer but it won't connect with itunes. I have the latest version of itunes, and have tried reinstalling it three times, along with following the apple help sections but nothing has worked. It connects on other mac, and pc's itunes however and believe it is a problem with windows 8. Anyone having this problem or know how to help? thanks

If you mean playing music from your computer's speakers that that work if you computer can act as a bluetooth receiver (like BT speakers and headphones) since the iPod can transmit music using the A2DP BT profile.
On the iPod go to Settings>General>Reset> Reset Network Settings and try again. You will also have to rejoin all wifi networks

IPod touch 5th gen won't accept wifi password

My daughter just got her iPod touch 5th gen 32GB (iOS 8.1.1) for x-mas and has had no problems connecting to our wifi until yesterday. It sees the wifi but when we ask to join, all of a sudden, it says "Incorrect Password for (wifi name)... " but i know it is correct. I've tried to enter it dozens of times but no luck. I've also asked other people to enter it but no luck there either. All of our other devices can connect with no problem so I know its really not the password despite the message. Our other daughter got an identical iPod touch at x-mas also and she hasn't had any problems connecting on her device.
I have tried to reset the network settings twice now. I have also forgotten the network & tried to rejoin multiple times - no luck. I've noticed none of the router or IP settings are showing on the device, even though that info does show on my iPhone 5s while its not connected. It's like it see's the wifi but it's not receiving any info.

trying to setup wifi, how do I get the mac address from ipod touch 5th gen? cannot get to the setting screen as it is trying to connect to itunes.

If yo are setting up the iPod vai wifi you have to connect to a network that does not use MAC address filtering.
After it is set up yu can get the MAC from Settings>General>About>WiFi Address
