IPod touch 5th generation charger cable

I've only had  my iPod touch a few days and the lightening pin connector isn't working. I bought it from currys, if I go into the apple store will they give me a new one?

If it is a genuine Apple cable like it came with the iPod, it is covered by the same Apple warranty that covers the iPod itself no matter from whome y purchased it.

  • IPod Touch 5th Gen charging cable wont work

So I got my iPod Touch last year around in November... about 3 months later my lightning to usb cable started playing up on me, (my cable was the one i got in the package BTW)  it would only let me charge in a specific position for about 2 weeks and I noticed some little bumps on the pin point of the charger.. after 2 weeks my cable just completely stopped charging my iPod. So I went back to the Apple store and bought a new lightning to usb cable and i took very good care of it. Now its playing up on me AGAIN! It has only been about 2 motnhs since I bought it and yet again it has those little wrinkly bumps on it. Now my cable has little holes and I have absolutely no clue how it got there. I thought this was just my cable and that I just have bad luck but my friend had the same problem with her lightning to usb cable for her iPod 5 too. I dont think there is anything you can do but I just wanted to make sure Apple has been aware of this incident! Thanks!

Some 5G iPods were shipped with Lightning cable that were either initially defective or failed after short use.

  • IPod Touch 5th Generation charge problems

Basically i bought my iPod Touch 5g roughly about 3 months ago now. For the first month everything was fine, but then it all of a sudden struggled to detect the charger. Most days it is temper-mental so sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't, but because usually i can get it working after a while i've put up with it. The situation isn't ideal though, it quite clearly shouldn't be how it is. I wondered whether it was the charger, so i tried it with my dad's charger instead. It was just as temper-mental flickering on and off charge so i was wondering what would be best to do. I have 1 year warranty with amazon, so i could easily request a replacement, but if there is a way to keep the one i have that would be preferred.
    Cheers

  • IPod touch 5th generation charging issue

My ipod is very weird.  It just developed this weird problem that makes no sense and I was wondering if anyone had an idea what was going wrong and how I can fix this.  Whenever I plug my ipod in to charge whether it is in the computer or in my wall charger the screen freezes or spazes out.  It will either freeze on the current image or it will freeze blue and sometimes it even will get like staticly.  I thought that maybe it was a short happening somewhere inside the ipod possibly near the charging port.  The ipod has been dropped once but that was from about 2 feet and there are no cracks or any type of damage at all other than a little tiny scratch.  Has anyone heard of this problem?  Does anyone know a quick way I can fix it?  I have had my ipod since it came out.

Some other uses have reported the problem.
    Try
    - Another cable
    - Another charging source
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

I made this same suggestion to other users but they never replied to say if it worked.

  • New iPod touch 5th generation charger won't work with computers or USB power adapter?

I just got this charger less than two weeks ago and just yesterday it started saying "This cable or accessory is not certified and may not work on this iPod." It will only work on some occasions, but most of the time it won't. Other times it will show that it is charging, but when I select to "Trust" my computer it stops charging. When I plug it into the USB power adapter, it rarely works (even when I try it in different outlets.) Any way to solve this issue?

  • My iPod touch 5th generation isn't working. I plugged it in last night to charge and now its not turning on or responding to anything.

My iPod touch 5th generation isn't working. I plugged it in last night to charge and now its not turning on or responding to anything.  It used to do this thing where it would freeze when it was 100% charged and plugged in and I was using it.  I'd just unplug it, restart it (home button and top button) and then it would be fine.  That had happened like 5 hours prior to me plugging it in again and then it going totally blank.

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try another cable
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • My iPod touch 5th generation battery indicator does not update when being charged (Updated to iOS 8)

Note that the iPod touch 5th generation was updated to iOS 8. When I connect my charger to my iPod touch, for the first time, the battery indicator does not update when connected to a power source. Instead of being charged, it says that the battery is being depleted. Please fix this issue. Thank you!

  • IPod Touch (5th Generation) cannot charge?

I just recently saw an ad on craigslist of someone selling an iPod Touch (5th Generation) for extremely cheap. The catch was the battery could not charge. Considering how cheap I got it, I figured it would be a simple battery replacement or such that I could find online and I would have a like-new iPod Touch. The only issue is I cannot find any solutions to this exact problem. Basically what has happened is, no matter where I plug-in this iPod, I only get the empty battery logo with the lighting bolt underneath. I have tried changing cords, and changing where it gets charge from, (my computer, wall charger, iPad charger) and it does the same thing. I have even tried leaving it charged for over 30-min+ and it still does not charge. I do not know the history of this iPod, but it seems as though I can see 2 very small dents on the back of the iPod. I have attempted all the basic diagnostics on this iPod
    The iPod is :
iPod Touch 5th Generation 32GB (Pink)
    Any feed-back is much appreciated.

Apple will exchange your iPod for a refurbished one $149. They do not fix yours. The dents indicate abuse and thus voids the warranty.
