IPod touch 5th generation skips songs and stuck on sync

I just bought a brand new ipod touch 5th generation today after my little over a year old 4th gen had an issue with software affecting the battery.  Now, after syncing my library to the new ipod, and updating to ios 7.0.3, there are songs being skipped and when I try to sync, it gets stuck on "waiting for changes to be applied."
I am so upset because I spent so much money to replace one faulty product with another.
Does anyone have any information on how to fix this problem?

Troubleshooting songs that skip
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Unsync all music and resync
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup. See:
iOS: How to back up
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

    Try:

    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • Ipod Touch 5th Generation has songs on it that are not mine

When my "Show All Music" setting is toggled to ON, my Ipod Touch 5th Generation will have several songs I don't own or recognize that is mixed in with my music. These songs are not downloaded to my device, but somehow the Cloud thinks that I own them and has them stored for me. I have checked my ITunes library on my computer but it doesn't show these songs there either. Where did these come from and how can I get them removed?

Are they the free U2 songs that Apple pushed to your for free?
    If so, to remove them
    Remove U2 Album
    Otherwise:
    - Unsync/delete all music and resync
To delete all music go to Settings>General>Usage>Storage>Manage Storage>Music>Tap edit in upper right and then tap the minus sign by All Music
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.

  • IPod Touch 5th Generation home button is stuck, support options?

Hi, I do IT, and when talking to someone in my science class and somehow he brought up the fact that his iPod touch 5th generations home button had become stuck overnight, without cause, it is in a otter box, and has never been dropped, come in contact with water, etc... . I had the exact same problem and luckily when I contacted apple it was the last day of my year long coverage. I checked his serial number and his support has expired, so what are my options? From my research it seems like this issue is not uncommon, and I have read that Apple will replace the defunct unit regardless of the warranty if you bring it to a genius bar, is this true? If it is not, then what would be the price for Apple to repair it, as it is in perfect condition with no scratches, and I would not want to void any future warranty options by replacing the button/screen myself?

Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store and find out if Apple will be nice and exchange it for a refurbished iPOd at no cost. Apple dies not repair yur iPOd, they exchange it for a refurbished one. If Apple will not exchange it at no cost, the exchange price is $99 for 16 GB 5G and $149 for the other 5Gs

  • IPod touch 5th generation battery drained and restored after app is closed

I got my iPod Touch 5th generation about a year ago. I noticed it has since had an issue on the battery life that I thought was common so I did not do anything about it.
The issue my iPod has is that whenever I use an app that requires immense energy to function, the battery drains real quick. But after I closed the app, the battery life fills up again like it has only used a little.  Video recording especially drains the battery the most where after 10 minutes of recording, it pops up saying 20% battery left from fully charged and at one point it even shuts down itself. But when it was turned on, the battery life is still around 75%. Before it runs on iOS 8, the issue is more apparent although it still exist now with the latest update.
I did not know until just recently that I found out it is a big issue where I could not have a video recording that can last longer than 10 minutes or so. Is there anything I could do to solve this? Are there anyone else out there that has this sort of issue?

    Hey Leowjowee-
I'm really sorry if I'm about to state the obvious, but have you tried fully resetting the iPod touch and setting it up like it's brand new?
It's a crappy answer, but sometimes these are device specific issues, and other times, it can happen just because the kinks haven't been worked out of a new upgrade. I work in consumer IT, and the first thing I would suggest to a client with this issue (especially after an upgrade from one version of the operating system to another), would be to restore (reset the iPod to factory specs) the iPod touch, set it up like the day I bought it, only with the upgraded operating system, and see if there's still an issue. Sometimes, doing an upgrade like you probably did to get from iOS 7 to iOS 8, where it keeps all your previous settings from the last operating system, can cause bugs in the new code.
    Here's instructions for a reset: http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201252
Keep in mind that this will completely erase any content you have on the iPod touch, so be careful to make sure you have a backup of the device before you do anything. You can back up your device to iCloud or your computer with these instructions:  http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT203977
iOS 8 is brand new, and I'm sure Apple is working out the bugs - but these things happen...

  • IPod touch 3rd generation, skips songs

When I am listening to music on my Pod , it will randomly skip over songs. This has been going on for a while. At first, only a few songs were skipping so it was not a big deal. Now, however it is skipping more songs. Songs that I listened to pver the summer no longer work. I am not sure what is going on. I cannot seem to fix the problem nor can I find any troubleshooting information to resolve this issue. Does anyone know what causes this problem and how to fix it?

  • I have a 16gb ipod touch 4th generation, 733 songs and 5 apps, yet it says it is over capacity and will not sync. however i know people with 8gb ipods and 1000s of songs? help please!

just says my ipod is over capacity when it's a 16gb ipod so it obviously isn't, can someone help!

How many songs depends upon the format of the some. Some are not compressed at al and they take up a lot of storage.
In the Summary pane for the iPod in iTunes you can compress songs that are synced to the iPod. Check the box that says Convert higher bitrate songs to XX kpps ACC. An XX or 128 is a good compromise of quality and compression.
    Also,
Connect the iPod to your computer and look at the storage used by the various categories as shown in the colored bargarph in iTunes.
    Come back with the results.

  • My Ipod Touch 5th generation got wet and I put it in some rice for a day now I can hear the sound of it charging but it is nothing is appearing, ehat should I do?

I already troed reseting it and no avail, what should I do

Did you try drying for at least 7 to 10 days in a sealed bag? Changing the rice daily? Do not use turn on OR attempt to charge until you get it dried out! A day or 2 will not dry an iPod out, and even if you do get it dry, it's no guarantee that it will work, but a couple of bucks of rice is a lot cheaper than a new iPod. If you dried it for a week and charged it for at least 30 minutes and tried resetting and still no joy you could try restoring it, just to say you did, but it does not look good. Your most likely looking at a new iPod or a refurbished one from Apple, water damage is not covered by the standard warranty. Hope this helps, Good luck.

  • IPod touch 5th generation deleted over 2000 of my songs

Hi. I rarely resort to forums like this to fix a problem but I can't seem to find anyone who's had the same issue.
Today I connected my iPod touch 5th generation to my Windows 8.1 PC to sync some songs onto it. I ripped some of them from a CD, others I got from Home Sharing with my brother. I tried to sync 12 songs to my iPod. At first, it looked like 8 of them had synced correctly, not greyed out or empty bubbles. I tried to add the rest and they refused to sync. All the songs from Home Sharing refused to sync to my iPod.
I tried something I normally try after an issue like this occurs - I select all the songs I've downloaded/ripped/gotten from homeshare and right click and select Create MP3 Version. I have my import settings as MP3 because I have other devices that also use my ripped music. I deleted the original versions after the new copies were made and moved them to recycle bin. Deleted the greyed out songs from my iPod and all the ones i'm trying to resync, and put the new versions on. It got stuck on syncing for about 20 minutes, making me late for something so I canceled the sync, ejected it, and unplugged it.
Got into my car, plugged my iPod into the AUX cable on my stereo, and my iPod started skipping all of the songs I had put on. I tried another playlist to see if it was corrupted music files, and it does this for nearly every song on my iPod. I have a 64GB iPod touch, with over half the space still empty. 3760 songs. I put my iPod on shuffle to see if it would play anything, and it quickly skips about a hundred songs at a time, whether play or pause is selected, and won't stop till it gets to a song that decides it wants to play. I plugged it into my computer when I got back, and it tried to put 670-something songs back on my iPod, so I figure hey maybe it'll fix itself. Nope. Now when I open up my music app on my iPod it says I have 909 songs, and it won't sync new songs to it. I have tried soft resets. I take care of this iPod. Never dropped it, dented it, or anything. No damage of any kind this iPod is my baby. It is just freshly out of warranty and I also have music on here from multiple computers as we have 4 computers in my house and my old laptop which no longer functions due to a hardware error and there are some gaps between my iPod library and my iTunes library, so I haven't tried to restore it yet because I'm trying to save my music. At this point I feel a restore from backup is my best option.
Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this?

My iPod Touch 5th Generation won't play music out loud. Why and what can i do to 'fix' it?

If you mean the headphones work but the speaker does not:
    - Try cleaning out/blowing out the headphone jack. Try inserting/removing the plug a dozen times or so. There is a little switch in the headphone jack that disconnects the speaker when the headphone jack is inserted.
Try the following to rule out a software problem
    - Reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost
