Ipod touch 5th tv out
I have ipad 2 and iphon4 and have used TV OUT with composite cable (red white yellow) to output to video content succesfully.
Now, I have purchase ipod 5th GEN and connected a ligntning to 30 pin connector to my existing 30 pin composite cable (red white yellow) with lightning to 30 pin adapter but it doesnt recognise it as it does with the old iphone and ipad
what are my options? I need to use compsite cable as I use it in mycar to output to overhead dvd player
The Lightning to 30 pin connector does not support video out
Video output not supported.

You will need to use either the Lightning to VGA or Lighting to Digital (HDMI) adopter and then get a VGA to composite or HDM to composite cable/adopter.

Is the ipod touch 5th gen out yet?
Ive seen a 5th gen Ipod on the sears website and i was wondering if it was real.
The page on the Sears site is wrong. This happened back with the Second-Generation iPod touch as well when Apple started shipping iPod touches with iOS 3; dealers erroenously referred to it as "third-generation" which continues to cause all sorts of confusion. As stedman said, there is no fifth-generation iPod touch at present.
The item being offered is being sold by someone other than Sears themselves, so what model you'd actually get is unknown. They claim it's the latest, but at that price I wouldn't trust them; they can't even get their name spelled correctly, and appear to be using a name of a company that does environmental cleanup, not a particularly trustworthy source for iPods.

My iPod Touch 5th Generation won't play music out loud. Why and what can i do to 'fix' it?
If you mean the headphones work but the speaker does not:
- Try cleaning out/blowing out the headphone jack. Try inserting/removing the plug a dozen times or so. There is a little switch in the headphone jack that disconnects the speaker when the headphone jack is inserted.
Try the following to rule out a software problem
- Reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory settings/new iPod.
- Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. Seems you have a bad headphone jack.

If not under warranty Apple will exchange your iPod for a refurbished one for this price. They do not fix yours.

This has happened to me about 4 times now. I just got a brand new iPod touch (5th Gen) after replaceing my 4th gen iPod. I havent had it for a month, so its still brand new. The only thing is that when the iPod runs out of battery it turns off (duh) but it doesnt turn back on when you plug it in to charge. When I noticed that the iPod doesnt turn on, and I hit the power button, lines appear on my screen. They are lines that run up and down the screen from left to right. I try factory resets, setting resets, restoring my iPod. But this issue keeps coming up. I honestly dont know what to do. This thing is brand new and its acting up on me. Should I take it to my apple store? Should I just put up with it. I have tried everything and at this point I dont know what to do anymore. Please help!!
- Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

Since you restored to factory settings/new iPod and still have the problem that indicates a hardware problem
If the iPod is defective within warranty (you indicate it is) and not abused Apple will exchange it on the spot. -
Ipod touch 5th wifi greyed out and turned off. Will not turn on.
I combed through FAQs and communities and see that I am one of the lucky people with 2 iPod touch 5th Gens with greyed out Wifi that will absolutely not turn on. I have tried all the suggestions out there, resetting heating, cooling, etc. I have updated to ios 8. Has anyone come up with a solution to this problem? Of course these are no longer covered with Apple Care. You would think Apple would have a replacement program for this problem since there are plenty of people having this issue.
See:
iOS: Wi-Fi or Bluetooth settings grayed out or dim
One user reported that placing the iPod in the freezer fixed the problem.
Also heating sometimes works. See:
Why can't I select my wifi settings?
A trick that works frequently with iPhones:
Settings > AirPlane Mode ON, Do Not Disturb ON
Power down and wait 5-10 minutes
Power up
Settings > AirPlane Mode OFF, Do Not Disturb OFF
If not successful, an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is usually in order.

Can I use ipod touch 5th to mirror my screen on Apple TV via Airplay with out wifi connection?
Can I use ipod touch 5th to mirror my screen on Apple TV via Airplay with out wifi connection?
Welcome to the Apple Community.
Peer-to-peer AirPlay
With peer-to-peer AirPlay, your iOS device and Apple TV don't need to be on the same Wi-Fi network. If you have one of these products, you can use peer-to-peer AirPlay:
* iPhone 5 or later, iPad (3rd generation or later), iPad mini, or iPod touch (5th generation) using iOS 8 or later.
* Apple TV (3rd generation rev A, model A1469 or later) with Apple TV software 7.0 or later. Find out which Apple TV model you have.
To use peer-to-peer AirPlay, your iOS device needs to have both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth turned on. -
My ipod touch 5th gen. 16gb ios 8.1.2 wont turn on, i press the power button and nothing happens, and my home button doesnt work, PLEASE HELP ME OUT!!!
Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

I just want to know when the new ipod touch 5th generation will come out
i just want to know when the new ipod touch 5th generation will come out
Apple has not announced any new iPod models. When they do, we'll all find out at the same time, I would guess, since the announcement will be prominent on every Apple-related web site and will probalby be posted in multiple threads in these forums.
Forum Tip: Since you're new here, you've probably not discovered the Search feature available on every Communities page, but next time, it might save you time (and everyone else from having to answer the same question multiple times) if you search a couple of ways for a topic, both in the relevant forums and in the Apple Knowledge Base before you post a question.

When does the iPod touch 5th generation come out?
I am saving up for the iPod touch 5th generation. I want to know when it comes out so I can pre-order if I need to. I know there are a ton of other questions exactly like this one online every where. But please answer this one, with thought.
You can't preorder anymore, if you want more accurate and up to date news on the release date info, look at my discussion : https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4384395?tstart=0

I just bought an iPod touch 4th generation 8GB for $199.99 but then when the iPod touch 5th generation came out, the 4th generation was still $199.99, but for a whole 16GB. Is there a way I can get some sort of free space?
If "just" is less than 14 days, you can return your iPod to Apple for a full refund.

iOS: How to back up -
I have an iPhone 4s 16GB Model and I've been using it for about more than an year now. The reason I wanna get a new iOS device is because my 4s has got lots of scratches now and it's ambient light sensor seems not to work properly. Apparently, another reason is that the iLife and iWork suit are not free for me as my device is older and new devices get those softwares for free.
I thought to go with a new iPhone 4s again but the problem is that new 4s come with only 8GB of storage and they don't support AirDrop. So next, I thought to go with an iPod touch 5th gen because of its jaw-dropping design, bigger screen, more storage and AirDrop support. Because iPod touch is phone-less iPhone and they come at affordable price, I can also buy any cheap cell phone like moto e to replace my current iPhone 4S.
Another options that I thought a little bit on, is iPad 4th Gen and iPad mini with Retina display 16GB.
Now, should I just stick with my current 16GB iPhone 4s, or get a new one.
Or should I buy an iPod touch 5th gen and moto e (since iPod can't make phone calls)
Or should I go with one of the two iPad models that I aforementioned.
Awaiting your valuable suggestions.

They're a lot more expensive, but Griffin has some of their 'survivor' cases with sealed ports, so you could cover up the ones you don't need.

64-bit Xeon with Win2k3 app won't run
