IPod Touch 64GB keeps losing artwork/artwork in iTunes not showing up on corresponding albums

after installing an update on my iPod Touch I noticed almost all the album artwork was erased. I'll just list the progression of events in order they've occured:
Install OS update on iPod Touch, almost all artwork is erased.
Re-add several of the albums that were missing artwork, artwork shows up fine.
Install second OS update that comes out.
Artwork is once again missing. Some albums I 'fixed' remained unchanged but all the files that did get the artwork erased were songs that had had it erased the first time.
Re-add a few albums that were effected, but some in the middle of it, iTunes crashes and things are messed up again.
I've tried all the basic fixes that people suggest for this kind of thing. Nothing seems to work. And it seems that whenever a particular album's artwork is lost on the iPod, it's lost in iTunes as well and neeeds to be downloaded again.
It's getting very tiring and I need to find a way to fix this so I'm not constantly worrying about re-adding songs and artwork and all that.

I had the same problem with artwork dissapearing, after I upgraded to ios5.
Never found a solution other then re-uploading the songs & artwork. Very time-consuming.
Sorry to hear that it's still happening - I'm really not looking forward to going through that again.

  • My ipod touch battery keeps losing power even when switched off

Why? What can I do? Change the battery?

I believe I have the information you're looking for, in return, please repond to the thread saying if it's useful or not.
The iPod Touch can lose battery under several conditions:
    1. If the Touch is left in the USB cradle, disconnected, the wires can leech current, reducing charge.
    2. Heat can significantly reduce a battery's charge, so keep your unit away from the sunlight or other heat.
    3. Leaving your Touch with the wifi on will tax the battery, even if you're listening to tunes. Make sure the unit is completely disconnected and turned off.
In short, make sure your Touch has wifi completely turned off, keep its cool, and disconnect the Touch from the USB cable or cradle.

  • My ipod touch 3g keeps asking to connect to itunes and i no longer have the computer

    help me please

Connect the iPod to another computer that has iTunes installed and restore the iPod to factory defaults/new iPod  If iTunes asks for the passcode and you do not know it or it will not accept the passcode, place the iPod in recovery mode and then restore it.  For recovery mode see:
iPhone and iPod touch: Unable to update or restore
You will lose everything on the iPod, but that is the way it is.

  • Podcast Artwork in iTunes Not Showing Up

Has this happened to anyone else? I have a Mac and when I try and download a few different podcasts the Artwork does not show up. I can deleteand redownload all I want, it does not show up. I've had this with a few Podcasts. When I sync it to my iPhone or iPod, still it doesn't show up.

The artwork which sometimes appears for individual episodes has to be actually embedded in the media file and is not related to the image which appears on the Store page (which is referenced in the feed). Many podcasters don't bother to include these embedded images, or may not realise that they can, in which case no image will appear.
There is nothing to stop you copying the artwork from the Store page and adding it to each episode using the File>Get Into pane, if you really want to take the trouble.

  • What my iPod Touch (64gb, Software ver. 3.1) WILL NOT do...

    I know the new Touch is awesome and totally different to my faithful old iPod Classic but two things I am really missing regarding functionality are;
    1) Resume - if you exit the music player and go back into music later it does not recall the last album/track you were playing making returning a pain in the proverbial.
    2) Hard Drive Access - there is no longer the ability to use the Touch as an external hard drive to your PC / Mac.
Please correct me if I am wrong, otherwise consider these as potential inclusions in future upgrades.

    Hi,
I only have a 1st gen touch with 3.11 but...
    1. Works for me. I pause, press home, go to another app etc. When I return to the music player I am back where I left off.
If I turn off/turn on then, as I would expect, the track place is lost.
    2. The touch has never been available to use as an external hard drive in the normal manner, although it can be accessed using third party apps, "Air Sharing" or "Data Case" for example.
    Regards,
    Dud.

  • IPod Touch 64GB (3rd gen) doesn't sync - iTunes 11.

It shows up in iTunes, and iTunes finds all the music I want to sync (i.e. shows the graphical display correctly), but when I sync, iTunes only makes a backup of settings and detects tracks to sync, then never actually syncs anything. No error messages, and yes, I have checked the music to sync. Apps do sync, and if I check pictures as well it gives an error message about losing connection.
I think the point I'm trying to make is that it skips the music sync step.. I believe it used to do 7 steps when syncing, now it does 2 (music only) or 3 (with pictures that fails and corrupts the graphic info bar about what's what on the iPod, and turns everything to "other"). I disabled genius updates a few days ago, so that was probably a couple of steps, however it still seems to be on when I check the Store menu (so I can't reenable it..). I wonder if that's what caused the problem, but have no idea what to do. Any help appreciated.

OK, the following worked, in case someone else runs into a similar problem in the future and finds this:
Download the itunes .dmg from here; http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Install, reboot, start iTunes, sync. iPod got stuck at "Downloading safe browsing data from Safari".
Go to the iPod's settings -> Safari and delete the website data.
The sync proceeded as it should, this time transferring my music onto the iPod. Next sync worked for pictures as well (i.e. not the bug turning everything into "other" and giving an error message), this time getting past the safe browsing data step without any problems.

  • A different error every time I sync my iPod Touch 64GB

I have an iPod Touch 64GB. After iOS4 upgrade and iTunes update, at least half of the times I connect it to my pc (Windows 7 64bit) some error comes up like, the ipod is disconnected (when it's not), a duplicate file has been created, the requested file cannot be found, error -48, error -64... you name it.
When this happens, I get a screen asking if I want to set it up as a new iPod, or if I want to restore from backup. If I select restore from backup, it tries to, takes an hour and then some error pops up, forcing me to set it up as a new iPod, which takes another hour.
A few days ago I decided I'd had it and restored it completely to factory settings, losing all my information (remember it never can restore from backup?) in the hopes that it would make it function normally again. Until last night... when I tried syncing again and again the errors, and having to set it up as a new iPod.
I've read many posts here, about deleting iPod Photo Cache and other solutions, none of them work. My iPod is NOT jailbroken, nor do I use any iToner or any other plug-in or weird non-Apple application to tweak it somehow...
    Any answers?
    Any suggestions?
How do I avoid having to set up my iPod as new every time I plug it to my pc?

Ok, so I tried syncing again, again the myriad of errors, one pop up after the next, you know the drill. At last, I set up the iPod as new iPod and when I did that it leaves it as having to sync all podcasts, iTunesU, photos, contacts, calendar, as new. But before I did that, a new pop up, an update for the iPod software version 4.0.2 (8A400). I updated the iPod and then checked all the boxes to sync all my content... so far, it's working. I'm hopeful that this update will fix the problems. If not, then I think I'll have to take it back to claim the warranty. Cause I don't see what else to do. I'll be back here with news.

  • ITunes not showing songs that are on the iPod Touch

I have an iPod Touch 4th Generation.
    I use iTunes 11.0.
I usually connect my iPod Touch to iTunes and play songs from there because I do not put songs in my itunes library.
I was doing this as usual and today when I connected my iPod Touch to iTunes, songs did not show up on the music tab of "On This iPod".
Just the previous day, I opened iTunes and there were all my songs.
Today, iTunes does not show any of my downloaded songs that were not bought from the iTunes Store.
The iTunes Capacity Bar shows that I have songs on my iPod Touch.
But when clicking on the iPod and going under the music tab in "On This iPod", there is no music other than a few songs, which were purchased from the iTunes Store itself.
I also tried third party software just today to check if I can get the songs off my iPod.
I tried using SharePod and it did not detect any songs, not even the purchased songs from iTunes.
There are songs on the iPod Touch only. I can play all the songs from the iPod Touch just fine.
They are simply just not showing up on iTunes.
How do I get iTunes to show the songs on my iPod Touch? The capacity bar says there are songs.
I tried SharePod a few times long before this happened, and it showed the songs on the iPod Touch.
I don't understand why all of a sudden the songs all disappeared from iTunes itself only.
(I would say this is similar to other issues where iTunes DOES show songs while the iPod itself DOES NOT. Mine is the opposite.)
Thank you for the help in advance.

I tried backing up the iPod Touch.
Now all the songs on the iPod Touch (except for the purchased ones) are turned to blank names and are skipped.
There is no name for each song or artwork, they all are called 'unknown'.
Only the purchased songs are left unharmed. Everything else is corrupted now.

  • How many songs can you put in an Ipod touch 64GB if you only use it for music?

I've heard the Ipod classic 160GB is discontinued. Could someone tell me how many songs you can put in the Ipod touch 64GB if you exclusively use it for music and don't put any photos, videos or anything?

I just did some quick figuring. There are a lot of variables. My 64gb 5th gen touch has only 56.6gb capacity so says the unit. Settings>General>About.
MP3 formatted songs vary greatly. I quickly perused my collection and found that the size varied from 3-7MB per song. Using the average of 4MB per song,(7MB is a rather large file for MP3) you will come up with 56.6 X 1024MB (1024 MB per 1GB) =57958MB/4 =14489 songs. This will probably never happen as there is cover artwork and different variables because of file size to consider. This gives you an Idea where to start.

  • IPod Touch 64GB won't stay charged

I have a iPod touch 64GB that won't keep a charge longer then 1-3 hours even after I fully charge it. My iPod has never done this before nor did it show any sign of battery lose. It seemed to come on after this new upgrade to iTunes, I don't know if that has anything to do with it? I've taken good care of my battery, charging it fully and then using it to the end, I never left it on charge when it was finished charging, and I don't play but one game on it for only a few minutes. Its only use is to play music. I have tried turning it off (Holding off/on/sleep button until it ask me to Power off by sliding) but that has not helped.

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
    -  Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

  • IPod Touch 64GB activated October 2013 - how do I get the free iLife, iPhoto and iMovie apps?

I purchased (from an authorised seller - Dixons Duty Free, Heathrow) and activated an iPod Touch 64GB on 18th October 2013 (prior to the announcement of free iLife, iPhoto and iMovie apps but after the 1st Sepember 2013 date in their conditions). It had iOS6 preinstalled. I've updated to iOS7. How do I get the free iLife, iPhoto and iMovie apps? The App Store is trying to charge me for theese.

Problem solved from information found in another thread....
If your iOS device was activated for the first time after September 1, go to the App Storeon your iPod which should open to Featured. If not, tap on Featured at the lower left of the screen & scroll down to Collections & tap on New to the App Store? then scroll down to Apps Made by Apple & tap. You should now see the iWork & iLife apps as "FREE."

I'm not sure if others have experienced the problem but I've been using iBooks and I'm finding that the device randomly resets while in use.
The problem is not connected to a particular ebook or PDF, it seems to happen randomly - even a couple of times while browsing the bookshelf. I have approximately 300 books and PDFs installed.
