IPod Touch adapter

I just opened my iPod touch and went to plug it into my MacBook Pro. The USB charger appears to be too big for the iPod? Did Apple give me the wrong connector? (Has this occurred for this model in the past? It is a white 16 GB ipod Touch)

It's  a 4th gen if it has the 30 pin connector, a 5th gen if it has the lightning connector. If it has the 30 pin connector, you have to look at it. On one side you'll see a little box in a box symbol. That faces the 'front' of the device, the screen side.
Then 30 pin connector does just fit in one way, so if it doesn't go in, flip it over.
The 5th gen lightning connectore fits in either 'right side up' or 'upside down'.

  • IPod Touch Adapter Issue

The iPod Touch ships with a white adapter for seapkers and so on, but what happens if, like me you have a black set of speakers, such as the iGroove HG by Klipsch. Can you buy black adapters or do you have to put up with a weird looking set up of black speakers, iPod Touch but white adapter?
    Cheers for any help Luppo.

    Some companies ship black ones.
JBL started sending black stickers with some units to put over the white covers to save money.
I'd paint it black with a good can of spray paint (no joking)
About $5 from any hardware/Target store.

  • IPod Touch - Adapter Power Usage

Hi everyone. I was wondering how much power (in Watts) is required to power an iPod through a USB wall adapter. In addition, if I'm just using a USB cable from my iPod to a car power adapter, how much is power (in Watts) is required through that source? The reason I need to know this information is because I will have a Macbook Pro plugged into a car power inverter and an iPod Touch as well either through another wall adapter or through the USB port located on the power inverter. If anyone can provide some information regarding the power usage, it'll be greatly appreciated!

That's all I could find with any information about power usage. Even the specifications page mentions nothing:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/SP496
Unless you've got one of those plug-in energy usage monitors and can test it yourself, I don't know how else you'll find out, as Apple don't seem to publish the figures.
Other links I found are these:
    http://www.apple.com/environment/resources/calculator.html
    http://www.apple.com/environment/resources/environmentalperformance.html
but nothing specific to the iPod touch there.

  • IPhone/iPod Touch adapter?

This may have already been asked and answered, but I searched and couldn't find anything. Jut bought the new iPhone and realized that the car charger, home charger, battery pack and FM transmitter that I have for my iPod Touch do not work with the iPhone. Does anyone know of an adapter that will allow me to use the iPhone with the equipment that I already have so I don't have to buy all new chargers, etc. Thanks.

Not an adaptor no, reason being, the iPhone has signals coming off of it that the device you plug in needs to be shielded from else you get interference.
Need to get one with the "Made for iPhone" label. Also note, you can use ones made for iPod (I do) but you will get interfernece now and then if you opt to leave Airplane mode off. Turning it On will stop interference but then you cannot get calls or emails or sms messages.

  • Do I need an adapter or a volt converter 220 to 110v for my ipod touch 2nd gen.

I have and ipod touch 20nd gen and an ipod shuffle 4th gen. I live in Colombia where we have 110 v and I am traveling to Argentina where they have 220 v.  I've been reading that i may not need a power or voltage converter but just an adapter, because the charger might already be dual (for 110 and 220) or is it the ipod itself.  Is this standard for all apple chargers because i have some really old ones (5 years) and a new one.I also have a Belkin power charger for them.

No. The power brick for the iPod senses the voltage and adjusts for the different ones.
You will need an adapter to switch form flat us pins tot the round pins used on their plugs.

  • Travel adapter for IPod touch 32 GB 3rd generation

    Dear All,
I do have a brand new IPod touch 32 GB, 3rd generation. As I will be travelling to the US I need a travel adapter. The travel adapter offered by Apple is per description only compatible with the 1st and 2nd generation.
Are you experienced? Does the original equipment also fit to the 3rd generation?
Thanks for your help in advance

There was a time when my iPod earphones bonked out. The volume/remote control did not work and the same things that you all said happened (i.e.: voice control turns on and off by itself, songs shuffle on their own, the song turns chipmunky, etc.) but these stopped when I took out the earphones. I replaced them with a new pari and all these did not recur.
My guess is that when the speakers/earphones you use have a problem with the plug thingy (the one where you plug into the unit), this may cause these erratic behaviors. Try replacing the speakers/earphones and see what happens.
I have since brought my earphones to the shop since my unit was still under warranty, and they have replaced it with a new pair. It's working perfectly now.

  • Why doesn't my lightning to 30 pin adapter support any of my audio my from ipod touch 5th generation

Why doesn't my lightning to 30 pin adapter support any of my audio my from ipod touch 5th generation.on my dock

Have you contacted the dock manufacturer?
The adopter supports audio if the dock manufacturer says the dock supports the 5G iPod.
It may be that the dock does not work with iOS 6.x vie the 5G. Sometimes an iOS update will break compatibility.

  • Digital AV Adapter and iPod Touch

I bought an Apple Digital AV Adapter, and I've been a big disappointment. I connected my iPod Touch 4G with an HDMI cable and my Sony Led TV and ... only see videos from iTunes and my photos and home movies, why not games and other applications? Is it a Apple's policy decición? Why when I go to a iPoint not tell me these limitations? I have my iPod with version 6.0.1, Did you fixed in the next version? or can someone confirm if they will not do? and return the "Apple Digital AV Adapter".
    Thanks for the replies.

On the 4G and below, TV out only works with apps that support TV out. It is up to the developer to enable TV out.
iOS devices like the 5G iPod touch, iPhone 4S and later and iPad 2 and later have processors/hardware that allow mirroring the device's screen via TV out.

  • Which apps for iPod touch 4g are compatible with the Apple Digital AV Adapter?

I've got an iPod touch 4g 32 GB, iOS 5.0.1, and I want to buy an Apple Digital AV adapter, especially for my apps. But I have read that not all apps are compatible with this screen synchronisation, so I'm not sure that it is worth it.
Here are all my apps, and I'm asking you to give me feedback if they are compatible or not.
    1. Real Racing 2
    2. Need for Speed Hot Pursuit
    3. AVATAR
    4. Spore Origins
    5. Spore Creatures
    6. Angry Birds
    7. Fruit Ninja
    8. Modern Combat 3
    9. Modern Combat 2
    10. N.O.V.A. 2
    11. Dead Space
    12. BFBC2
    13. Plants vs. Zombies
    14. Brothers in Arms 2
    15. Prince of Persia: WW
    16. Infinity Blade
    17. Infinity Blade 2
    18. Gangstar: MV
    19. Galaxy on Fire 2
    20. Six-Guns
    21. Osmos
So if you really know which are compatible, I'd be grateful for a feedback.
    Thank you all!

Thank you for answering, but sadly, I wasn't able to find these informations in the app descriptions. Just Real Racing 2 and MC3 had informations about supporting TV out.
Do you know where to find them?

  • Can I use an adapter with the output stats: 5.2 volt and 1.0 amp for my iPod Touch 4g?

Hello, I bought an iPod touch from apple store. I got the cable with one part to the iPod and the other USB. But i didn't get an adapter to make it possible to connect the USB to an adapter and then into the wall jack.
So I had one at home with these stats: 5.2 volt and 1.0 amp. Can I use it to charge the iPod Touch or is it "unhealthy" for the battery?
    Kind Regards
    Kiwiii

It shuld be fine. It is within the tolerance for USB 5 Volts.

  • Which universal dock adapter for iPod touch 4th generation?

When you go into the Apple store / cables and docks, you eventually find one labelled 'Universal Dock Adapter 3-Pack for iPod touch'  but when you go into the support article 300277 'Learn about Apple Universal Dock' it says to use adapter number 20 which has serial number MC598ZM/A, but when you click on the link on the serial number you get the information for 'Apple iPhone 4 Universal Dock Adapter 3-Pack'. Neither information page gives an adapter number or a serial number. So which universal dock adapter is the right one for iPod touch 4th generation?

    I would get this one:
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC650ZM/A?fnode=MTY1NDA0OQ&mco=MTg5MTgxMjc
The one for the iPhone 4 will not work.  You can always call Apple and ask them.
