IPod Touch and Airport Express

I have a home network with Airport Express access point connected to my Bose entertainment system which allows me to play my iTunes music on the Bose speakers. With iPod Touch and it's WiFi capabilities, can I play my music on the Bose speakers as well?

There is no evidence to suggest AirTunes is available on the iTouch / iPhone
Sorry!

  • Can i use my ipod touch with airport express?

I will be staying in a hotel that only offers hard wire internet connection.  Can I use my ipod touch with airport express to have have WiFi?  I won't have my computer with me.
    Thanks!

Yes, you can. However, you will not be able to administer the AirPort from the iPod Touch. Thus you would need to pre-configure the AirPort Express to work at the particular hotel that you will be staying at. Note: Most hotels now offer Wi-Fi in the rooms and the Express may not be necessary.

  • Which is better ipod touch or airport express?

    hi,
I'm running itunes from my mac through a standard home hifi unit but want to upgrade my speakers. I'm thinking of buying a set of zeppelin speakers (http://www.bowers-wilkins.co.uk/display.aspx?infid=2466) but as I dont have an ipod was wondering whether to stream music from my mac using airport express or buy an ipod touch.
Does anyone know if the sound quality is affected using the airport express?
    cheers

    Hi deggie,
Congratulations for your purchase of Zeppelin, which is a great speaker for iPod and I am going to buy it once it is available in Hong Kong. (I heard it once it a shop in Hong Kong).
B&W is a great speaker company - with no doubt.
Does Zeppelin has also an optical input as well?
My only comments (with my iPod HiFi with airport express) - occasionally the signal did not come too smoothly from my airport express to the iPod HiFi - a kind of influence from other electronic wave e.g. mircowave?

  • Idea: Sync iPod touch via Airport Express?

I like the idea of using my MacBook anywhere I like around my apartment, so I've got the wireless Mighty Mouse, my SoundSticks speakers on an Airport Express, and a G-mini drive on an Airport Extreme for backups.
I can plug my iPod into a multitude of other devices, for the purpose charging it, but I'm still stuck having to connect it to my Mac for syncing, and therefore have to keep an iPod wire nearby.
I figured that it might be a nice feature if one could plug an iPod into an Airport Express, since part of the appeal of that product is to make your music portable or wireless, and thus "share" it to Macs on your network, where it could appear into iTunes and could be synced that way. Or, worst case, some form of wifi sync method perhaps.
Has anyone heard of any software or solution that might make this feasible?
(I also welcome any input on anything that helps one work wirelessly.)

It's a trade off between convenience versus speed. The USB transfer is considerably faster than a WiFi transfer would be. Also, the phone charges when connected for syncing.

Try the following to rule out a software problem:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Power off and then back on the router
    - Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings

    - iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

  • Bought a new Ipod touch and the WiFi does not connect.  Tried Reset and total Restore, does not connect to Router on DHCP, tried Static manually and still can not get it to connect even though it registers as connected.

Bought a new Ipod touch and the WiFi does not connect.  Tried Reset and total Restore, does not connect to Router on DHCP, tried Static IP, Subnet, Router and DNS manually and still can not get it to connect even though it registers as connected.  Using Airport for router, latest firmware, no problems with Iphone 4 or Macbook Pro or any other internet devices.  After total Restore (factory settings) tried again, showed connected to router, but does not display "check" next to router but little rotating icon even though the wifi range signal shows connected at full strength and it says it is connected.  Just can't seem to get it to generate an IP.  Any solutions other than turning it on and off again?  Not a Merry Christmas morning.

Ok, so, a couple of things:  Denisefromwaleska and I have the exact same size/type/color iPod.  Now wishing I'd bought the black one maybe...
Second, Airport is an Express and I have a second one that I carry with me when I travel.  Tried to connect my Airport Express to the internet and could not although the iPod did recognize the router and tried to connect to the internet for some time, unlike my previous problem.  Updated firmware on my travel router, still could not connect to the internet.  Going to try to set up a manual Static IP on the travel router here in a few and conect through it although I predict the problem will persist. Back on the Christmas Present Airport Express router, it is back in play and working fine for all devices save the iPod.
Thanks again for all your help, hopefully I can get a solution in place soon,

  • Outlook 2010 Syncing With iPod Touch and iPad

I have a PC with Outlook 2003 that sync’s with iPod Touch and iPad. I plan to buy a new PC with Windows 7 and Outlook 2010. Comcast tells me they don’t support Outlook (They support Outlook Express) but Outlook 2003 currently works fine on my PC with Windows XP. I have the following questions:
    - . Is there an alternative to Outlook 2010 that will sync with my iPod Touch and iPad?
    - Will Outlook Express sync with my iPod Touch and iPad and is Outlook Express still available?
    - What is Microsoft Exchange?
    Thanks for your help. LCP

Just look at page 26 of the new US) users guide. It specifically says that the iPad syncs with Outlook 2010 (as well as 2003 and 2007). However, Comcast's mail help page only lists OL 2000, 2002, 2003 and 2007.

  • Error between iTunes and AirPort Express

    Hello
I have an AirPort Express, which has provoked a little here lately. Now it turns out that I can stream music from my Ipod to the AirPort Express without problems.
When I try to stream from my mac and select the "Airport Express" to play music only in the speakers on my mac. I havenot had any problems streaming ITunes.
How do I fix this error? Could it be a bug in the new iTunes (when I have just update this)?

    FWIW, try this:

I had the same problem. Looks like Apple have changed to IPv6 addressing with iTunes 10.4 for Airplay devices. I run Apple Airport Extreme as my main WiFi router abd then Bridge off that with Apples Airport Express and also have an Apple TV.
I changed the setting for my Apple Airport Extreme to "Host" Mode under IPv6 tab in Airport Utility.
All seems to work for now.

  • I have an ipod touch and want to purchase an ipad can i use one account

I have an Ipod touch and want to purchase an ipad.  Can the same account be used.  Can my purchases on my ipod touch be synced to my ipad?

the only limits you'll face is if any of your iPod touch apps are for the iPhone only, they'll show up as tiny in the middle of the screen. There'll be a 2X button that'll allow you to zoom it up...some look better than others. All depends on how high resolution they are made.
Other apps will be in the app store with a + by them, those are universal and scale to fit the screen they are displayed on. Other apps you'll need to buy the iPad version. And you'll find some apps that are iPad only.

  • Wireless modem and Airport Express.. one at a time

Recently my internet provider upgraded my old plug in modem to a newer wireless model. Now it seems that the current setting allow communication with only one or the other at the same time. If I want to be online with the wireless modem and send my iTunes music via Airport Express to my sound system, no dice. I have to either click on the modem up in the Airport choices to be online and listen to iTunes through the computer speakers, or go offline to listen to music through the sound system and Airport Express.
I'm sure I'm just missing something in preferences or settings somewhere.
Can someone point me in the right direction?
    Thanks, and Happy New Year!

    No ideas?

  • I downloaded iTunes 11.4 so I could set up an iPod Touch, and now it won't open at all. Can someone please tell me how to fix it?

As mentioned - I was trying to set up an iPod Touch, and it kept telling me "open iTunes," so it dawned on me that I probably needed to update it. So I updated it, and now it just doesn't open (it bounces once, and that's it).
    For added info:
I have a MacBook Pro with Mac OS X version 10.6.8.
Technically I keep all my music on an external hard drive, but I don't think anything is corrupted (because it was working fine just before I updated it).
    Thank you.

    Hi, JEvansIII.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
Try resetting your System Management Controller or SMC then launch iTunes after processing these steps.  If the issue persists, try downloading a fresh copy of iTunes by accessing the second link below.
