Are you following the instructions here:

What is the exact wording of the error message?
Is the computer authorized for the account(s) the purchased the media?

  • IPod Touch 4th Gen iTunes Sync Freezing Issue

My iPod Touch 4th Generation freezes during the "Backing up" stage of sync. Nothing I have tried so far has resolved this issue and it's getting very annoying seeing as how I can't sync my iPod at all. I know it isn't just the iPod's fault, because it happened to my older one too. I've done everything I have found people suggesting and none of it has worked. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
I am running Windows 7 64-Bit platform on iTunes 10.6.0.40
    Thanks,

    - Are restrictions set on the iPod since you can restrict (hide) the App Store app.  Go to Settings>General>Restrictions to check.
If those don't work, open iTunes on the computer and restore it after syncing

  • If i factory reset my ipod touch(5th gen), can i reset it as the option 'set up as new ipod', and then i can just go into the app store/itunes store and restore my music and apps and not icloud with photos and ect?

if i factory reset my ipod touch(5th gen), can i reset it to the option 'set up as a new ipod', and then i can just go into the app store/itunes store and log into my apple ID so i can just restore my music and apps and not icloud with photos, contacts, ect. and then later i can add contacts that i need/want instead of them restoring them from icloud?
The reason i asked this question is because i have been wondering this a lot ever since i got an exchange on this ipod (and ive only had it for a few weeks now) because my last ipod had a lot of problems. so after i restored my ipod with my computer/itunes, i downloaded apps that i wanted, and then when i went to the storage to see how much storage was left, it said 0 bytes. i was freaking out because i didnt know how that could be, i mean, cause like, that is impossible when i just 'purchased' it, that the space was full but i looked and all my pictures were on this ipod and i already put them on my computer so i dont need them anymore thats why i wanna reset it now so there is nothing on it so i can have more space for stuff to do and download on it.
it is updated to iOS 8 but that happened when i purchased it, so i didnt have a choice to update it even though i didnt want to update to iOS 8...
and i hope you understand my problem..
i would REALLY REALLY appreciate it if someone could tell me a solution to my problem!!! thank you so much!
    -sierra

Hey Sierra, You can do just what you have stated. My question, what is your "other"? If it is over 1.5 GB you most likely have corrupt files. Doing a Restore to New, Factory restore should correct it. Just make sure you make a full backup of all information on your iPod to your computer before you restore, so you don't lose your stuff, contacts, videos, pictures, non-iTunes music, etc, use the cable and connect with your computer. Then, via cable, connect to your computer, run the Restore to new, don't use your backup. Treat this iPod as if it was your first one ever. When restore is done, set up and add what info you wish to install on this iPod. The music apps etc you purchased should be on your computer, if not you should be able to retrieve purchased apps and music from iTunes. Any music, videos, apps not purchased from iTunes will be lost to you if you do not save them to your computer or the cloud first. When your done, make a current Backup and you should good to go. Hope this helps. Good luck. Cheers.

  • HT204266 I hav e downloaded some free apps from itune store. When I try to install in my ipod it doesn't go through. it can not install in my ipod touch.

I have downloaded some free apps from Itune store. but when i sync those apps in my ipod touch it dosn't apear in my ipod. i can't use that apps. what should i do? help please.

Are the apps compatible with your model iPod and its iOS version? You say you have a iOS 4.2. That implies a 2G iPod. Many, many apps now require iOS 4.3 or later or a 3G or later iPod.
Also do you have Restrictions turned on that would d prevent installing those apps? Settings>General>Restrictions.

  • How to skip updates on iTunes store and iPod touch App store???

    Hi all!!!
I would like to know how can I skip an updated APP? The game PacMan has been
updated and people had problems with it (slow) and I just wana skip it but there isn't
any way that I know of to remove that "1" update number and it's the same thing on my
iPod Touch App Store icon still has that red 1 on it and want to remove without resulting
    to update the program.
    Any help welcomed!!!!
    PS: 1st Gen Touch

I was just researching the same! No results yet.
To be honest: this is a patyful thing in the UI of iOS. I can no longer tap "update all" since there are some I don't want to update.
P.S. Even Microsoft Windows 7 lets users to "hide updates" that one doesn't want so the OS updates never annoy again. How come iOS fail?

  • Why can't I download Free iPod Touch Apps from Apps Store w/Shopping Cart?

I have an 8GB iPod Touch (original model) with the current 2.1 software. I also have iTunes v. 8.0. The behavior I am seeing started about 3 weeks ago and continues with these updates - it was not like this when I first downloaded the 2.0 software and began installing Apps.
I prefer to manage my iPod Touch applications in iTunes. I have my iTunes account set up for a Shopping Cart, not 1-Click Buy. This is because for Music, I prefer to add songs I will want to my shopping cart, then buy them when I want to.
When iTunes 7.7 first came out with v2.0 software, even though I have a Shopping Cart for my iTunes, I could "buy" a Free App just by clicking on it, and it would be automatically downloaded and added to my Applications folder on iTunes. Then, when I synced with my iPod Touch, it would install the app on my iPod Touch. This was true for either new Apps or upgrades to existing Apps.
For the last few weeks, every time I try to update even an existing App for my iPod Touch, if I do it through the iTunes store, I get the following message:
"Applications cannot be purchased with Shopping Cart.
Your preferences are currently set to buy using Shopping Cart. Application purchases cannot be placed in Shopping Cart: they must be purchase by 1-Click. Select Buy if you'd like to purchase [NAME OF APPLICATION} by using 1-Click and your credit card will be charged immediately."
The [NAME OF APPLICATION] is filled in with whatever application I am dealing with at that time.
Why is it that even with a Free application, and an update for it at that, it will not let me obtain it with iTunes if I have a Shopping Cart? So far, I have solved the problem by doing all of my Applications management on my iPod Touch. I use the iTunes Store on my iPod Touch to search for and download the application. Then, when I sync, it places it in my Applications folder on iTunes on my PC.
This is very strange behavior for iTunes. Why would it want to charge my credit card for a Free Application?
    Many thanks.
    Joe

    Hi Steve,
Thanks for your reply. I do have a valid Credit Card on the account. In addition, I also have about a $5 credit from an iTunes gift card in my iTunes account.
In any event, I'm actually NOT purchasing anything. All I'm trying to do is download a FREE App for my iPod Touch. It simply won't let me do it.
    This is extremely frustrating.
    Best regards.
    Joe

  • IPod touch wifi question + iTunes wireless store question

I have a wireless b/g connection at my house. I have 64 bit WEP encryption on my router. If I get an iPod touch, will it allow me to type in the code so I can connect to the internet?
Next, if I activate an iTunes gift card on my pc, will I be able to use those song credits on an iPod touch with my iTunes account? Also, can you activate gift cards and access your account settings in the iTunes music store on the touch?

Yes the ipod touch can handle wep, wpa and wpa2 encryption.
As long as you redeem your gift card on your pc so it is in your itunes store account, the ipod touch will use your gift first befor charging your credit card.
    Hope this helps.

  • Can't download anything from App or iTunes store

Well, this is by far the worst update I have ever had, got new iPhone 6 128GB, straight away had major syncing to iTunes on my Mac problems which I am still having, but also another major issue.
After about a day of use, if I go into the App Store or iTunes Store on the phone it won't let me download anything, I press on Free, then Install, and all I get is a swirling icon, it never asks me to enter my password or verify by Touch ID, just keeps on swirling, if I press it again the icon dims, the only way I can fix it is by reseting all settings on the phone but by the early hours it once again will not let me download a thing.
Both previous iPhone 5 when I had it worked and a iPad Air 128GB work with the same account.

Looks like I've discovered a clue to why I can't download from App or iTunes store on the phone after a certain amount of time, I do a reboot with Home and Power button this time when it was failing to download an app and when it came back on the phone chucked a ton of pop up messages at me, to verify with Touch ID, to put my password in, and messages about the fact I'd already downloaded that app, about 10 messages.
Seems like at some point iOS 8 is not bringing up the message to verify the app download when in the store and it's getting stuck in a queue which the reboot is unsticking.

  • Windows 7 64 bit, iPod touch 2nd gen, iTunes sync issue

I have Windows 7 64 bit Home Premium and am frustrated to death. I have spent days wiping out my iPod trying something different an only to start all over again. I am not a n00b to computers and only ask because I only find a trail of tears and none of the problems I see look specifically like mine.
I have been following this issue since Feb 2010 and notice reports that are sort of similar back to Jan of 2009. Anyway here is my problem.
iTunes will recognize my iPod touch 2nd Gen. iTunes will "sync" apps and data. iTunes will not sync movies, music, books, or software upgrades.
I get an error code that changes depending on what I am trying and seems to lead to no where. I can't honestly remember the code anymore.
I can sync with this same computer using Windows XP 32 Pro win a VirtualBox VM, but can not do it directly from within Windows 7. So hardware and drivers are not the issue. I reinstalled iTunes with a Vista 64 bit install that I found online which appeared to work temporarily then ultimately I ended up back where I started.
I actually switched to Windows (from linux) because I got tired of the VirtualBox method. Quite ironic that I am still facing the same issue.
On top of the not being able to sync properly from Windows 7 64 bit. Everytime I try I have to put in hours of work to get my Ipod back to working order as iTunes only allows you to sync with one computer and is slower that snail poop in January. In order to try again I have to be willing to commit to the problems that I am most likely to encounter.
    So my questions are
    1. Does anyone have a clue why Apple has not fixed this issue? or is there a solution I don't know about?
    2. Is there an easier way to attempt a fix that does not require me to re organize my 70+ apps on my iPod?
P.S. I do not have an intel based chipset as that seems to have been an issue for others. I have
    ASUS M2V VIA K8T890 AM2 Mother Board
    CPU AMD|A64 X2 4600+
    VGA EVGA GF 7300GT
Have tried direct to MB USB and through powered Hub

Are you sure that you downloaded the 64 bit version and not the 32 bit version?  I would delete the download and try again.  You also might want to look at the iTunes forum since youu have an iTunes problem and not an iPod problem.

  • Is the iPod touch 64gb suppose to store 14,000 songs

Is the iPod touch 64gb suppose to store 14,000 songs

Yes but that assumes standard length and 128k kbps compression. To get this compression go to the Summary pane for the iPod in iTunes and check the box that says Convert higher bitrate songs to XX kbps ACC. Select 12k or a higher one for less compression/less songs or lower one for more songs and some loss in quality.
The specs for the 3G iPod (the number of songs is not given in the 4G and 5G specs)
    32GB or 64GB flash drive2
Holds up to 7,000 or 14,000 songs in 128-Kbps AAC format3

  • Music vanishes all the time from iPod touch using the iTunes App...

    Hi
I am often not near a computer and prefer to purchase music for my iPod Touch from the iTunes app on the Touch itself. This has worked fine for many months. I believe my iPod is a 3rd gen. However lately I suddently noticed that some music purchased recently was completely missing from the iPod, even some songs purchased as part of an album just vanished... the rest of the album songs were still there, but a couple of random ones had just gone.
Now, every time I try and purchase and download something from the iTunes App (I literally just tried it again) it just doesn't appear in the purchased playlist.. or anywhere on my iPod in fact.
Essentially, I've wasted my money on buying songs that just don't appear. I've also noticed that the music search chugs a lot these days, as if there's some sort of background problem.
I recently upgraded the software (with multitasking etc) but the problem hasn't been fixed.
This is a really frustrating issue, and I have purchased several songs twice and got nothing! So really keen to see if anyone has seen it before and if they can please help me?
I've tried deleting apps, restarting the iPod... when I try and sync with the PC, the purchases are nowhere to be seen. It's all a bit disappointing really!
I'm on a 64Gig iPod touch and have 41 Gig showing as available!
Please help, I've searched for hours and got nothing on this specific issue.
    Thanks

hmmm nobody can help me? Is this because nobody wants to tell me I've wasted my money?
