IPod touch apple logo screen blinking on and off

iPod touch apple logo screen blinking on and off, unresponsive to physical touch. Frozen without looking frozen.

First, try a system reset.  It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.  You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore.  Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset.  It could take well over an hour!  Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod.  As before, say "yes."  Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time.  If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device.  Corrective action is simple -  choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.

Plug it in to power for at least 15 minutes.  If it doesn't automatically come on, try a Reset... press the home and sleep/lock buttons until you see the Apple logo, ignoring the slider. Takes about 5-15 secs of button holding and you won't lose any data or settings.

anyone, pls help - my ipad is not opening, only apple logo is flashing on and off... pls help

Have you tried rebooting your iPad?
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
If that does not work, you can try restoring your iPad iOS Software.

  • My iPod Touch 4G (White) Screen is Cracked, and...

Hello. This is my first post on the message board. Today, by accident, my iPod touch 4th-Gen fell and cracked on the floor. So far, everything else seems to function fine, except the entire front and screen has been fragmented, and cracked. I can still turn it on and the home button is usable. My question is, what can I do to get my iPod touch repaired soon? I got in January, but I don't have AppleCare. Should I take it to the Apple Store (I live in Ontario, Canada) and ask them, or what else can be done? I still have the receipt and original packaging, by the way.
    Thanks

Apple will replace the whole unit for a fixed price.

I don't think you'll find it much cheaper to go to a third party repair place.  The disadvantage with third party is also if the unit is still under general warranty a third party repair will void Apple ever looking at it again for anything.

  • Ipod touch apple logo stuck

iPod Touch 4G. The device is stuck showing the Apple Logo...will not power on or power off. If I press Home and Sleep buttons together it powers off and then immediately powers back on, still showing the Apple logo. Nothing else.

Well there are many verisons of iOS 4.x. The .ipsw is pretty much the operating system in one big restore bundle so you can quickly update it.
Does it get recongnized by iTunes?

  • HT201412 My iphone keeps repeating unclean shutdown.  Cant get to my screen to do anything. The apple logo keeps flashing on and off.  Can I restore or is phone done.

I cant get my iphone to turn on. The apple logo goes on and off intermittently.  Avery small line of words stating error'unclean shutdown.  It ssms like it is frozen or locked.  Is there something I can do to restore my phone screen? I recently updated to IOS 6.

What happens when you try to restore?

  • HT1349 My iPod touch 4g's screen went white and now it won't reboot or connect to iTunes

I was just on my Facebook app and then I clicked on a link. It's a link that doesn't usually do anything to my iPod. Then, the screen went white. This sort of happened the other day, too. I've tried to reboot it several times, but it won't do anything. It won't connect to iTunes, either. What can I do?

  • IPod Touch 4g internet conection works on and off

I got my new touch just a while ago after my classic died, it worked great. Then out of the blue the internet performes horribly. 99% of the time now I get the error that I cant connect to the itunes store or appstore when I open it. If I can get it to open and download something; it fails instantly saying cannot connect. In safari the internet is meh, sometimes it wont open certain pages but does a lot better than the apple store. My email works fine. When Im one facebook however if I try to view lots of images after the first few it will say no internet connection, my newsfeed seems to work okay though. My other apps that use internet are also kind of glitchy but some work fine while others dont work at all. I have no idea what is wrong. I tried a restore and the ios upgrade and a bunch of other stuff. It is not jailbroken if you are wondering. I am also having more app crashes now and i have light leakage in the right bottom corner. Anybody know whats going on?

I would start with a simple reboot of your router. Just unplug from its power source for 30 seconds or so. When it has completely restarted, try things again.
If you are having app crashes then you need to either reset or restore your touch. I would start with reset (you can do this while your router is rebooting) by holding down the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons together for about 10 seconds until you see the Apple logo. Let go at that point. If you still have problems, do a full restore via iTunes.

I've tried using the home and sleep buttons to turn it off but when it turns off it just turns back on when I plug it into the computer. No way I can seem to fix it and I couldn't find a solution.
