IPod Touch Beeps Continuously when plugged into iLive Boombox

Hello -
We just got my daughter an iLive boombox which says it should be compatible with her iPod Touch. It seems to work fine, with the exception that the iPod keeps repeating the beeping sound continuously, and flashing the battery indicator, starting maybe 15-30 seconds after plugging it into the dock connector on the boombox, while the iPod is playing. The battery indicator shows that it's charging (with the lightning bolt). Does this mean that the iPod is not getting enough power from the boombox?
Thanks for the help!

First off, thanks for your input.
I've tried the suggestions, but to no avail.
Now theres one more bump in the road.
I previously had(still have) an ipod touch 2nd gen.
Worked with no problems.
Now when connected to itunes(since the itunes update), it too does the double chime and does not come up as if its plugged in.
No icon or anything in itunes.
Just the double chime.
So now I have a 2nd and 4th gen itouch that itunes will not recognize.
Please help!

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

  • A few things: my ipod touch (4 gen) is plugged into my computer and charging, but it doesn't appear on itunes. Also, it shows that the wifi signal is working, but then it's telling me it's not.

I also haven't exactly started up my ipod, I just plugged it into a laptop to get it working when I was on the road, but I planned to put it on a different computer where my info from my old Ipod nano is.

  • Changes made to iPod on device revert when plugged into computer/iTunes

Guys when I make playlist changes to my white iPod touch out in the world they revert when I come home and plug it into iTunes. Had this prollem once in the past and it seemed to fix itself with an updates. But when I click updates now it says I don't need any.

An iPod (except for iPod touch) is not directly related (in a technical way) to an Apple ID.  You can use a shuffle even if you don't have an Apple ID.  And there is no way for Apple to "link" to a shuffle (like it can with an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch).  So, I don't think the two things are related.
The Apple ID may have become disabled if someone tried to log in unsuccessfully (gave wrong password) more than a certain consecutive number of times.  You'll need to contact Apple customer support, using the Contact Us link at the bottom right corner of this web page.  First, try logging in with the Apple ID, to confirm it is really disabled.  There are some sophisticated scams out there these days, that try to trick you into revealing your username and password with fake emails.  Actually, if you are posting here after logging in with that Apple ID, it is not disabled.
For the shuffle, which model is it?  This document shows the four types
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1719
If the light on the shuffle does not come on when connected, there is no power getting to the shuffle (which explains what you describe).  The possible causes are (1) the USB port not working or not supplying sufficient power, (2) a faulty USB docking cable, or (3) a problem on the shuffle (such as a bad headphones jack or logic board).
If you can rule out (1) and (2) with some troubleshooting, the cause is more likely to be (3).  If you use a USB hub, be sure to try it with a direct USB port on the computer, and test that port with something else (preferably something similar like a USB flash drive or port-powered external drive).  If you have another USB docking cable, or if you can try the cable you have with another 4th (or 3rd) gen shuffle, that wound be a good test.

  • IPod will not update when plugged into computer?

Just recently my iPod with not update when I plug it into my computer. My iPod does not show up on my Mac or my iTunes. When I plug it in the screen shows the do not disconnect sign. I have tried to reset my iPod and checked for new updates, but they haven't worked. If anyone knows what to do that would be great.
    Thanks

Yes. Since I installed the new system software (10.4.6) update Sunday night, I cannot update any of my iPods except the iPod video. The iPods also do not show up on my desktop. The battery charges but that's all that happens.

  • Second Generation Ipod touch works only when plugged in, sometimes?

My ipod touch 2nd gen is having some issues. My friend gave it to me this way. He says it worked one night, charged it overnight, then went to turn it on the next day and it wouldn't turn on. So I got it then plugged it in and it starts turning on with the apple logo and then it will shut off and do it over and over. Sometimes it will get to the lock screen and I will have a few minutes on it before it shuts off again and constantly turns on then off. Any ideas?

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • Ipod constantly resetting itself when plugged into Itunes.

My new 5G 80gig Ipod constantly resets itself when I plug it into Itunes. Any ideas? The Ipod is new...

Here's what I've done so far unsuccessfully:
Placed it into disk mode, but it does the same thing. Once plugged into the computer the ipod is recognized by both windows and Itunes but it resets itself within 30 seconds. It constantly keeps resetting itself.
Also, since it keeps resetting itself, and therefore disappears form itunes, I cannot reformat/hardreset it via Itunes....

  • IPod Classic video stops when plugged into external speakers

Whenever I'm playing video and plug my iPod Classic into external speakers (doesn't matter the speakers, it happens with all of them), the video stops playing and the screen behaves as if I'd pressed the "Menu" button. Extremely annoying when playing video playlists.
Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Yep, it's through the dock. I don't get why Apple keeps "updating" and taking away features. It happened when at first you could shuffle "songs" and "videos", and the videos would play as such. Now they play as "songs", only audio without video.

  • IPod nano freezing when plugged into Belkin Tunecast

Everything has been working fine with my ipod nano 3rd generation until recently. I tried to plug it into the tunecast in my car and the ipod froze. I've tried resetting it and this still happens. A different ipod has been working fine with the tunecast which makes me think there is nothing wrong with the belkin but the ipod is fine even when plugged into the computer which makes me wonder which one is not working properly. Any ideas????

I am having this exact same issue with my wife's 3g, 8GB nano and her Monster iCarPlay. the Monster unit and the nano worked fine together for a week or two but now the nano locks up when connected to it. You disconnect the nano and it goes back to working fine. I have reset the nano while both connected and not connected to the Monster and have done a restore in iTunes and I am still having the same issue. I called support and they basically told me to buy a new car adapter. I don't believe this is a good solution since the Monster worked with the nano for a couple of weeks when we first got it and the Monster still works fine with both my wife's and my old ipod mini's. Any suggestions?

  • Ipod "Click" sound when plug into the Computer

    Hi All,
My Ipod harddrive clicked periodically when plugged into the computer which never happen before. I can hear the harddrive spin sound but periodically sound clicked in the harddrive.
Just wondering if anyone experienced this problem before?
Any suggestion how to fixed it? Is the warranty cover this kind of problem as well?
    THanks for all reply

Yeah I think so.. Some of the update fixed some problem but some of them make them worse and i hate when apple didnt give the search function on Ipod with video 1st generation
Just hope my ipod has no problem regarding this issue.

  • My Ipod touch will only work when plugged into a itouch radio.  When I take it out, it goes blank.  Why can I do?

My Ipod touch will only work when plugged into an Itouch radio.  When I take it out of the charger, it goes blank.  The battery shows fully charged.  It appears that the battery is no longer charging.  What should I do?

Try a reset: Hold the home and power buttons at the same time until the Apple boot logo appears. No data will be lost. If that fails, the battery may have gone kaput.

  • How come my Ipod Touch will only charge when plugged into a computer and not a docking station or wall socket?

My IPhone works with both the charging USB cable as well as the wall socket and docking station.  Additionally, my IPod used to charge using both the wall socket plug in and the docking station.  My IPod will stay play music when plugged into the docking station, but won't charge.  Further, when I plug my IPod into my computer all it will do is charge and is not recognized by ITunes.  I have done both a soft and hard reset.

If the iPhone has no problem with the same cable then
    - See:
    iPod touch: Hardware troubleshooting
iPhone and iPod touch: Charging the battery
    - Inspect the dock connector on the iPod for bent or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.
    - Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.
