IPod Touch Bookmark Backup

I recently bought a new computer and got rid of my old one. I backed up all of my songs, videos, etc. from iTunes, but not my bookmarks. Is there any way to backup my bookmarks now?? I don't want to have to write or type up all my bookmarks before I go to setup my iPod on my new computer.

Thanks for the suggestion, but it wouldn't let me download it on my iPod. Then I read up on it and it said that for the ipod touch program you can't add bookmarks just yet, but it will be coming soon.

  • IPod Touch 4G Backup Missing

I have an iPod Touch 4G with the most recent software and iTunes on my MacBook Pro.  For whatever reason, the audio quit working on my iPod.  After turning it off and back on, still didn't work. Ditto with re-synching it.  So I go to restore it.  I back it up, and restore.  Well, I get an error message when I try to restore.  No code, just an error message.  I try to restore with prior backups listed, and I keep getting the error message.  So I have apparently lost all my app data, including in-app purchases.  I keep getting the error message with older backups that are saved.  Any suggestions for what I can do?  Where are all the backups that I am supposed to have from when I synch?  According to my computer (when I go through the path listed in the support forums), I have backup from today (which don't work), from July 21st, (which don't work), and from Feb.  I synch my iPod MUCH more frequently than that!  I do not have a more recent time machine backup (which I guess I need to start doing more frequently!) to get a more recent backup than that.
Edit:  I also have an iPad, which I backedup and restored to try to put some of the data from my iPod onto it.  As I have only had it for a few days (1st gen), I don't have much information on it to lose yet.  Interstingly, after the restore from backup failed from my iPod data, I was able to restore from my iPad backup that I just did with no problem.  I don't know why it will backup and restore on my iPad but not on my iPod.

My error message from my older backups says "because some files could not be restores from the backup."  I have no idea how to get around this.  The ones on my Time Machine from April also say this.

  • Why is my ipod touch saying "backup corrupt or not compatible" error message?

My iPod touch has been fine for years and I only really add new music sporadically. Now I am getting an error message saying that it cannot back up my iPod because it is corrupt or not compatible with the iPod. I have already done a factory reset and it still has not fixed the issue.

Did you try deleting the existing backup?
iTunes>Preferences>Devices and select that backup and click on Delete?

  • Ipod touch 1G backup missing with iTune 10

When I connect my iPod touch 1G, iTunes is syncrnizing the music but if I want to run a restore, I can't find any backups.
Do you know what has changed with new iTunes releases ?
    How I can run a backup/restore?
Hope Apple coud respond to this question?
    Thanks
    Liberato

    - This is a user-to-user forum.  Apple really does not respond in any official way.
    - If you go to Preferences in iTunes on your computer the backups are shown in the Device tab.  Are any list there?
Backups can also be found here:
iTunes places the backup files in the following places:
    Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup/
    Windows XP: \Documents and Settings\(username)\Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
    Windows Vista and Windows 7: \Users\(username)\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
Note: If you do not see the AppData or Application Data folders, you may need to show hidden files (Windows XP,  Windows Vista and Windows 7), or iTunes may not be installed in the default location. Show hidden files and then search the hard drive for the Backup directory.
When your iPod is connected to your computer if you right click on your iPod under Devices on the left you can select the backup option.  When you sync, making a backup is the first step.

  • Ipod touch slow backup / sync

    Hi all,
I search many posts in Google and this forum and found that the problem is common to many people. Any solution which is effective right now?
I am using Windows 7 64bit with iPod Touch 3.1.2
    Thanks!

If it is a larger capacity iPod, it will take a long time to back up. You could switch to iCloud backup if you have iOS 5 or later. This way it backs up to the cloud automatically.

  • Ipod touch, bookmarks, my powerbook, losing bookmarks on my computer, tears

hi, i was going through the bookmarks on my ipod touch and i decided i'd delete a few of them - there's a bunch that i figured i would never look at on the ipod touch. but when i synced it to my laptop it updated my safari bookmarks, too. now, i've lost a bunch of those on my laptop. a bunch of them.... (and i'd actually look at them on my computer).
oh god. the tears are there. they want to come out but they're just sort of waiting for an appropriate trigger. but they won't damage my ipod if they get on them, right? i mean, they might be a little salty but it's tough, right? tough like ox?
can anyone tell me how to recover my bookmarks on my computer? i am ever so sad now, trust me. oy vey....
    thanks... :'(

Thanks for the heads up on this issue!
I have been playing with my new iPod touch since yesterday and haven't plugged it back into my MBP yet... so I've just done an export Bookmarks
(Export Bookmarks from Safari's File menu - and left that html file on the desktop)
so that if when I plug my touch back in and it syncs - I will have a back up copy of my Bookmarks!
I've be more that shattered if I lost them all!!!!
And until the iPod touch is plugged back in - I can't see any of the tabs in iTunes to uncheck any options!

  • IPod touch Restore Backup

My iPod touch 5th gen was pulled back due to battery defect and I'm still waiting for the replacement unit.
My last back up was an iOS 6.0.1
The pre-installed iOS of a new iPod touch 5th gen is 6.0 right?
If I use the back up (6.0.1) and apply it to the replacement unit (6.0), would there be any complications like compatability issue since their iOS version is different?
    Thanks in advance!

Now I'm confused. When I asked the Apple representative about updating the iPod touch from 6.0 to 6.1 then use the back up in my PC which is 6.0.1. This is his answer:
"...However yes, that would pose a problem I am afraid, That would be considered 'downgrading' and isn't supported... You can go forward just not back."
So he suggested that I just restore the unit (6.0) with the backup (6.0.1). Then just update to 6.1
    Do you think he's wrong?

  • How to resync third generation iPod Touch after backup and restore and re installation of the operating system?

Hello.  I have a third generation iPod Touch that I have been having problems with the cover art not displaying by the correct artists and the volume automatically adjusting after spell check has corrected a word.  I backed up and restored the device and reinstalled the operating system, which fixed the bug I experienced with the album art not displaying next to the correct artists.  Since that has happened, my computer no longer recognizes my iPod.  How can I get it to recognize the iPod Touch again?

Make sure you have the laters version of iTunes. The latest is 11.1
    See:

  • IPod Touch Music Backup

Is there a way of backing up the music on my iPod touch. It's the only hd with all of my music on. I've seen some sharware programs but I don't want to pay and I want a program that won't expire after 15 days. BTW this is for Windows not Leopard.
    Any help would be appreciated,
    Thanks.

I can't seem to access the music directly on my ipod touch. When I touch the music shortcut on my homescreen, the touch seems to freeze up and no songs show up. Also, if i go to the itunes store and the downloads section and go to the purchased portion, none of the music is there. However, when I plug in my touch to a computer with itunes, the music shows up. First question is, is there anything i can do to fix, second, how can i upload my music from the touch to a computer? I'd like to back-up the music before it is completely lost as it was all purchased on the touch and has not yet been backed up, then see if i can salvage the touch.

    Google translate:
But then I ask myself why Apple this "backup" calls. A backup has indeed exactly the purpose that you can revert to earlier states! If a backup is created immediately when you plug the Eipott to the PC, the function uses yes exactly nothing at all, since you can not restore a previous state!
It apparently takes no predetermined path on Jailbreak
You can go to iTunes>Preferences>Devices and check the box that says "Prevent iPods for...automatically" to prevent syncing/backing up when you connect the iPod to the computer.
You can also after you backup, make a copy of the backup and place it in a safe place on your computer. If you want to restore from that backup yo can place a copy back in the right place. See the following for where iTunes stores its backups.
