IPod Touch boots in foreign language - why?

Why does my presumably new iPod Touch 3rd gen 32 GB boot up in Danish? The first time it did this I thought I had inadvertently changed the language selection (although I couldn't understand how this could happen). I restored the factory settings via iTunes and the next boot was again in Danish. I have since changed to English the Touch is functioning fine, but it seems like strange behavior for an item purchased as new.
Any other similar experiences? Any explanations? Is this a returned item, "grey market" item, other, etc.?

I've no idea how your Touch ended up this way; only your Apple Store can tell for sure.
To bring your Touch back to English, start up your Touch, go to General/Settings/International (or words that look like that in Danish), and select English. If you don't have a video, this might help a little... Excuse the blur:

IPod Touch - OS 3.0 - language switched to Greek

Updated to 3.0. After the update everything on the iPod Touch is in the Greek language. The word "language" does not appear in the 3.0 user guide. Everything during the installation purchase and installation process was set to English. How do I set it back to English?

I assigned my 14 year old son to read the user manual. It is under the "General" settings, Chapter 18 of the user guide: "General" "International" then "Language." If you don't read Greek, or Japanese or Chinese, it is still possible. We just kept clicking forward in the different arrows until the language "English" appeared. It took some patience and persistence. Hopefully this will work for everything else in language they cannot read:
1. From the home page, click the image with the gears, the "Settings" button.
2. On the next page, click the image with the gears again on the next page (should be the 3rd image down) - this is the "General" button.
3. On the next page, click the button text that is 2nd from the bottom. This is the "International" button.
4. On the next page, click the very top button. This is the "Language" button.
5. On the next page, click "English" (it should be the top button.
Hope this works for everyone else who has this problem!

Ipod touch boots up to fast???

Hello every one, i have a question involving my ipod touch. When ever the ipod auto shutdown itself and i plug in fthe charger it boots itself up almost right away. I thought it was supposed to take atleast ten mins before it booted up??? Is this common or should i return it. Plz help!!!

Auto shutdown = iPod turns the screen off, but music continues to play. As lllaass has stated, in Settings/General/Autolock you can specify the time delay before auto shutdown takes place.
Sleep = after the iPod auto shuts down, or when you press-and-release the Sleep/Wake button (to put it to sleep).
Off = when you press-and-hold the Sleep Wake button and then slide the "Power off" to Off.
Out of power/run out of battery/battery flashing red = dead! - a drained battery (not sleep!). When the iPod shuts down because there is no power left in the battery. Personally, I recommend that you do not let this happen all the time. It's okay for the battery to drain once in a while, but you should be charging it up before that happens.
To wake the iPod from Sleep, you simply press either the Sleep//Wake button or the Home button.
To turn the iPod on, from "off", press-and-hold the Sleep/Wake button until the iPod begins its start up procedure. My (old iPod Touch) take 70 seconds to power up from "off". lllaass may be able to confirm this, but as I said, a new one cannot possibly take ten minutes to start up. (I'd put my desktop in for treatment if it took that long!)

Can't iPod touch open DMG file? Why?

I sent an encrypted email to a friend who using iPod touch, but he said he couldn't open the file. I was using "Encrypt Mail" by Apimac. He said he got an attachment with extension .DMG
But DMG is just an Apple file, it should be easy to open it, I use DMG everyday, I got no problem with that.
So, Why cannot iPod Touch?

A .dmg file is a disk image file. It's not a format that's supported by the Touch.

I can't update my ipod touch 3gen to 4.3 why?

I have an Ipod touch 3rd generation and I restored it to update it to 4.3 and itunes still hasn't offered me the update. I have itunes 10.2 and have also tried to upgrade to 4.3 on 2 different computers. Please help

There is no problem with the model. But, there never was an 8gB 3rd generation. You have a 2nd generation. 4.2.1 is the highest OS it will accept.

8gb ipod touch not 8gb 6.5gb why is this any sugesstions???

i bought an 8gb ipod touch but my friend had loads of music on his usb but my computer says 3.23gb free of 6.5? can any1 help???

I also think they're stealing us, because for those who have the 8gb iPod (smallest version), 6.5gb is nothing for games, music, videos,...
Because, when we bought it, nobody told us that the "8gb" iPod had only 6.5.

My blutooth headset cuts in and out based on the position of the gen 4 ipod touch, any ideas as to why this is and how to fix it?

When using a blutooth headset with my ipod touch the signal seems to cut in and out. The controls seem to work fine but the audio cuts out when the unit is moved or placed in my pocket.

The battery in my iPod touch runs out very fast, why?

My ipod's battery does not last very long. If I leave it unpluged for a half day it's already dead even though nothing seems to be running.
