Ipod touch browser content filters?

Does an i-pod touch have any sort of browser restricting for adultt content etc..on it? My 13 year old son wants an i-pod touch for Christmas and there are lots of web-sites I do not want him on.

For now you can do a couple things. First, if you do get it, when your son goes to sleep just grab it and check the internet history. You can easily see which sites he has been to. If the history is blank, you know he is hiding something, and you can take it away or be honest and say, "if your history is blank, I know you are hiding something and you are in trouble now."
Or, just wait until February for the SDK and see what comes out.
Or, accept that your child may go to websites (he is going to one of these days, you can't stop him) and just get him the darn toy.
Or, don't get it for him and say, "son, I cannot restrict your internet access, and because you are a 13 year old boy with raging hormones, I will not trust you with this highly powerful technological advancement."
I mean this all in the most lighthearted manner possible .
If you are truly concerned, don't get it for him because there isn't any filtering on it.
But I bet a lot of the plug ins those sites use aren't compatible with the touch. I haven't checked of course, the screen is far too small .... I mean. umm. Good luck!!

IPod Touch No Content and apps Quit immediently after opening them

My iPod touch second gen is just over a year old and has the 3.0 update and now at 3.1.2, the problem i am now facing is that my ipod touch is randomly telling me i have no music and no movie content and when i access my apps they quit before they even open. all other things such as pictures and web and email still work. i'm on holidays and am shortly about to go on a 1 day train trip home and my computer is at home and my ipod is playing up again. the only solution i found was that if i re-sync either my music or my movies it makes my content come back but only for about a week.
Please give me either a solid answer on how to fix it or tell me what exactly causes this to happen.
please spare me of detials on if this happens to you because ive found hundreds of forum sites on this topic filled with people talking about his happening to them and no answer on how to solve it.

I have a first generation iPod touch and have loved it. I was having problem accessing WiFi so I updated itunes to 9.0 and the touch to the 3.1.2. Since the computer I originally synced to has died I synced it to another computer in my home. I didn't worry about losing my apps as there were all free and I figured I would just download them again. I now have WiFi and email however, now that I have tried to install facebook and a few other apps, they all crash before they even open.
I have tried:
installing apps and then restarting my iPod,
resetting my iPod,
restoring my iPod (twice with no success),
installing the apps through itunes and then syncing,
the only thing left would be to restore not using my backup. I dont' want to do this as I have all my contacts and information that I don't want to use.
Can anyone help me or should I just go get a blackberry?

SOME images not downloading on ANY iPod Touch browser

SOME images from SOME websites are not downloading on ANY browser my iPod has on ANY wireless network.
I have an 8gb iPod Touch 2nd gen, and iTunes 9.1.
I went to vector.tutsplus.com to read some articles like I usually do and most of the images were loading except the images that are actually in the article inline. I figured it was just a safari glitch so I opened up my Opera browser for iPhone. I still couldn't see the images, so I figured it was just my Internet connection. I hopped onto another Wifi connection in my neighborhood and went to the website but the images would STILL not load. They load fine on my computer. Other resides are doing the same thing. It's really hard to read tutorials and articles on graphics design when I can't see images.

I tried pinging some hosts of the images that won't load on my PC here at the office and I can ping the servers with no problem.
When I ping the same servers on my Mac through Terminal, I get "ping: sendto: No route to host"

TS3595 Ipod Touch loses content at end of synching

Suddenly, when I try to synch my iPod Touch, at the last minute all the content seems to disappear. It tells me I have no content. I have iOS 6. What happened?

Try the following:
- A reset. Nothing is lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory settings/new iPod.

I get a pop up in Safari on an iPod Touch saying I have an unsupported browser. IE 7, Firefox, etc are supported. The project is using ADF components.
Web pages do work in Google's Chrome.

The support for iPhone/iPod Touch Safari is in ADF Mobile, which as Shay pointed out requires the use of the Trinidad library. A view project intended for ADF Mobile cannot contain any reference to ADF Faces components. The general steps for creating an ADF Mobile application is as follows:
1. Define your model project as usual, or simply re-use the same model project or application as your ADF Faces app.
2. Create a new project - select a generic project. When prompted for project technology, select just "Mobile". This would bring over the necessary libraries for ADF Mobile, but nothing else.
3. Create page flows and views as you would for any JSF application. You can use any Trinidad component available in the component palette.

IPod Touch Browser security

Can anyone tell me if the Touch is secure enough to do your banking on-line? I have no problem doing these things on my home computer, but I know the level of security with the software I have installed. With the iPod Touch - I'm not sure.

Personally, I don't do banking on portable devices on networks that are public - like Starbucks.
If you've had your ID or credit cards jacked, you'll know why.

IPod touch deleting contents

Once I delete the contents and settings on my iPod, will my name still appear "sally's iPod" ?

If you go to Settings>General>Reset>Erase all content and settings then your iPod will be totally erases, including the iPod's name.

Ipod touch browse on a Pioneer 7200 audio deck super slow after update

i have a Pioneer Deck (7200) with a USB controller for the ipod. now when I browse by artist it takes 5 seconds to load the first 4 artists. Needless to say I have been listening to alot of Allman Brothers because I dont want to sit and wait for the B-Z to load up. Is there a fix for this ???

Dang...160 views...and not one answer, suggestion...nothing? I've talked to audio installers at Best Buy who say they're having the same issue and can't get any support from Apple.
I tried playing a movie for my daughter in my truck on the in dash unit, and the audio skips out there too. Movie plays fine...but audio cuts out.
Does anyone have any clue what is going on? Can my iPod be reversed back to the previous OS because I know that it worked just fine. This new update really screwed things up. I can't use the iPod in my truck at all...it's too frustrating.

I am an English teacher who has students using their own electronics in class. A student came to me today with their new iTouch and the Safari browser button was gone. In fact, when searching for 'Safari' on the iTouch, nothing was found. How can the browser disappear and how can I help her find it again?

Since default Apps cannot be removed, make sure Safari has not been disabled via Restrictions. To check, head to *Settings -> General -> Restrictions* and make sure either all Restrictions are off or at least Safari is turned Off.

Accessing content in iTunes U through iTunes App on iPod Touch?

Is there any way to access iTunes U content directly through the iTunes U app on an iPod Touch? Content from the "commercial" section of the iTunes Store can easily be searched and downloaded with an iPod Touch without the need of using iTunes software and syncing with an iPod. But this direct access is obviously not possible from the iTunes U section - even with a direct URL to iTunes U content. Has anyone discovered a solution for this problem?

I perceive that you do not use iTunes. If you use iTunes, it will back up your content. But, there are free or inexpensive 3rd party software tha will allow you to pull everything off your iPod onto a computer. Searching in this forum will turn up many hits such as

That's by design. The password is designed to protect the user's information and cannot be circumvented. You can restore it to "new" condition though, and sync it to your computer. The iPod Touch's content will be securely erased by doing this.
Refer to iOS: Unable to update or restore. Follow the instructions exactly as written.

Viewing webcam pics on ipod touch

I have just bought an ipod touch so I'm a "learner"
I can view a webcam pic (updated regularly) on my windows pc. (www.falmouthphotos.com/towercam2.html (( or .jpg)) but can't download it onto the ipod touch. It would be great if this was possible.

Backup iPod Touch music to computer without adding it to iTunes Library

I would like to backup/copy the music and books from my Mom's iPod Touch to my computer without mixing it in with my personal library. I basically want to move all of the iPod Touch's content to a folder on my harddrive ("Mom's iPod" or whatever). I have already created a backup in iTunes, but it is my understanding that the iTunes backup does not back up the music or books. Is there a way to do this? Thanks in advance for any help.

Based on the recomendations by lllaass, I tried 2 different programs. Both were selected because they were free:
The first program I tried was SharePod. This decision was based on CNET & user reviews. It worked great for moving the music from the iPod to the computer, was easy to use, and was free; however, it is limited to music (it had a photo section but it did not see the one photo on the iPod so I was not able to test the feature). If all you need to move is music I recommend this solution.
After I realized there were eBooks on the iPod, I had to find a second program to back them up. I used Syncios (again based on CNET & user reviews). This also worked great for backing up the eBooks, and I was even able to backup the apps (all were free apps, but I thought I would test the feature anyway). I did not try to backup the music because I already backed it up with SharePod, but I would imagine it will work as well as the books & apps.
**BEWARE** when installing Syncios: the reviews stated the install adds malware. To avoid the program installing additional software, make sure to select custom install and uncheck the additional programs!
