IPod Touch Camera -- Resolution Change?

Hello, I dunno what happened but for a while now my iPod Touch 4G's camera has been taking photos in 640x480 (480x360 portrait) resolution instead of what it used to take the pictures at (720x960 pixels).. did something change on Apple's end or did I mess something up?? My iOS version is 6.0

How are you determing the size?
There are no setting to change th resolution.
Try:
- Reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory settings/new iPod.
- Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

double click your home button to get to the multitask bar and press and hold the default camera app. then hit the red dash to remove it. then go back into camera from your home screen and it should work.

The screen on my Ipod touch came away from the back.

The screen on my ipod touch came away from the back and then stuck back down a couple of days later. The battery seems to be weak now but everything else is OK. What could have caused this? Over chargibg in the car cradle?, Heat? Being held too tightly in the cradle?, Getting water inside?

If you have successfully restored the iPod to factory defaults/new iPod you likely have a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

my ipod touch camera screen is upside down and as well as apps. portrait lock is not on. I've tried restoring it, backing it up, resetting the settings, and the placing it on a table and thumping the back....i dont have a warranty any more so i cant just take it back and get a new one. is there any ideas that will actually work or is there any way i can buy a warranty for my ipod touch? my ipod touch camera isn't working, it just shows the shutter. The only way I can take a photo is if I use the front camera with instagram. Please Help! What do I do?

My ipod touch camera freezes when I try to use the camera.

I have had the same problem. I have a iPod touch 4th generation and this is the second time this has happened and the first time I just needed to clean the camera but this time both won't work sometimes the shutter will stay there and not move or it will show all the buttons but the screen will be black the actions will be faded.i have done the multi task bar restored it cleaned it and I don't want to send it ti apple. If u get a camera app from the app store like Camwow or camera! App it will show up then it will freeze and go back to black so when there is a new I pod or ipone I am going to sell my iPod to get a new apple device so clean it and update an restore if it still dose not work then u can wait or send it to apple or call apple supports number.

have ipod touch, model PC547ZP version 5
upgraded to OS 5 had all worked till other day now the camera will not open.
tried powering on and off with no change
know can restore but conserned might lose data etc
anyone know of anything I can do to resovle this other than resetting it

I used to have a button to access iPod touch's camera even before logging in with my passcode. Now it is gone - so I can't take any pictures unless I enter my passcode. Why did it change, and do you know how to fix it?

You need to double click the Home button to bring up the camera button from the lock screen.

Is the iPod touch camera good enough to use Scanner Pro?

I'm thinking of downloading this app but I believe it's designed for the iPhone. Is the camera on the iPod touch good enough to scan documents? I mean, I don't expect a perfect scan but if I scan a regular sized page is it readable?

I do not recommend this. While the camera is perfectly capable to film HD movies, it strangely is crappy when it comes to Pictures.
The iPhone 4 has 5Megapixels , the iphone 4s has 8MP and the iPod touch ( current version is still the 4g model ) has 0,7MP.
For snapshots ok, but not for OCR/Scanner purposes.

While playing any song on your iPod, tap the artwork to bring up the scrubber bar and additional controls. On the left hand side is a option for repeat. You want to make sure this icon is white (meaning it is set to Off). If it isn't tap it either one or two times to change its current setting.
