Ipod touch causing computer to shutdown
My ipod touch seems to cause my computer to shut itself down after syncing. Is anyone else having this problem? If so, how do I get it to stop? Help!
- Try resetting the iPod.
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Next try restoring the iPod.

Ipod touch 3.1.3 shutdown
Why did my ipod touch 3.1.3 shutdown & will not come back on, though it's been on charger for days.
Try the standard fixes to rule out a software problem:
- Reset. Nothing is lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory settings/new iPod
if still problem that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the genius Bar of an Apple store is in order. -

iTunes has taken my money but no song has been downloaded onto my ipod touch or computer, How do I get my song or money back?
I cannot seem to trace where the purchase went but it money is gone from account and I have no song.
Please help!Starting at the end:
- When the movie or tv show does transfer onto your iphone/ipod touch you will be able to see it in the expanded view of your device in the "DEVICES" section.
- If the files are not on your device, then:
-- confirm you have SD or HD-SD video. HD-only content will not play and probably will not even sync. iTunes seems to reliably have SD versions with their HD distributions so this should not be an issue
-- confirm you are synch-ing the content to the ipod device by browsing the DEVICE view's Movie or TV Show tabs to confirm the movie or episode is 'checked'
- If the files are on the iPod and you cannot find them, check your Settings: General for Restrictions. If you restrict, for example the movies to "G" rating. PG and higher movies will sync but you will not be able to find them on the iPod! -

Can you navigate Ipod Touch via computer? Un-Jailbroken
Im curious to know if there is any way to navigate my Ipod touch 4th Gen via computer? I recently broke my screen at work and it was no biggie till it began to bleed in spots and eventually going white. Before it was just cracked and i was able to navigate effortlessly with no issues and now it is impossible cause i can't see what im doing. I ask because i still wanna use it,mainly the camera but am unable to get around. Is there a way to navigate via computer,or use my camera via computer as my screen? Im unable to afford to fix it at this point (other priorities) so im looking for a temporary solution till it is feasible for me to repair it. my ipod is not jailbroken so im unable to use its advantages but any ideas or solutions that can help or lead me in a direction related to what im looking for, will be greatly appreciated. And any help on navigating the screen without seeing what im doing. Thanks!
No. No way control the iPod from your computer. If yo could navigate a little on the iPod is at least one app that allows you to use the iPod's/iPhone's/iPad's camera by a computer program. I know the there is a program for a Mac but I do not know about Windows. However, you need to be able to open that app on the iPod.

How to sync old voice memos from ipod Touch to computer
Due to a computer crash I lost all the voice memos on the computer. So, I wanted to sync the voice memos still on my ipod touch to the computer again. Unfortunately, sync music, include voice memos, doesn't do the trick. How can this be done?
Since the original computer crashed did you do the following:

You can only sync to one computer/iTunes library and your new (or rebuild computer) is a new computer/iTunes library. -

I have all the music on my ipod touch and it all works and I don't want to lose it if I sync. It says when I sync that all music on my ipod touch will be lost, it will only sync with the music on the computer. HELP.See Here

Ipod touch causing blue screen
I'm new here so I hope I explain this properly. I have the latest version of itunes installed on my computer with a 1G nano. I just got a ipod touch. I pluged it into my usb port like I did with the nano and it moved all my music onto the touch. The problem now is when i try to plug the touch back into my computer it boots out and goes to the blue screen and says an unexpected error ocured and one or more disks need to be scaned. The computer boots back up and all is well until I try and plug the touch back in and the same thing happens.
Any help would be great.Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup. See:
iOS: How to back up
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

IPod touch causes "blue screen" crash on connection
So, following a defrag on my XP based pc, when I connect my iPod touch to the pc via USB, the PC immediately blue screens. (STOP 0x0000007E 0xc00000005 0x00000000 0xf78ed7c4 0xf78ed4c0).
I suspect it may be the iPod touch USB driver? Is that likely? If so, how do I remove the corrupt driver and reinstall?
ThanksThankfully, after a few changes and reviewing some of the other posts in this excellent forum, I have resolved the problem. It had nothing to do with the defrag at all. What I had omitted was that prior to the blue screen, I had installed the free Photoshop Mobile App from Adobe. By editing and saving a photo, a new directory was created in the photo albums. Then when I connected the iPod to my PC, for reasons best known to Aple (but see various other threads in this forum) the pc thought the iPod was a camera, and tried to load a USB camera driver. I assume this must have conflicted with an existing USB driver on my pc, causing it to "blue screen". By totally removing the app and the new album on my iPod, I was able to make my pc recognise the iPod as an iPod again. Shame, I thought the photoshop app was good, but I shall avoid it (and any other app that creates albums / photos) in future.
Is there any obvious way to alert Apple to these sort of problems with third party apps - or possibly with their OS on the iPod which should be able to stop errors like this? -
When I plug my iPod touch ino the computer it says "this ipod cannot be used because the Apple mobile device service has not been started. The screen shows to plug it into itunes and will not do anything.

Old iPod Touch, New Computer,
The last time I synced my 1st Generation iPod Touch was back in December. Since then, my Mac Mini has failed (hard drive wore out due to its age). I have since received a new MacBook Pro for college, and my iTunes library now holds all the media my Mac Mini held. Now here's the problem: I have since made several downloads on my iPod touch both before and after my Mac Mini failed. Upon syncing an older iPod, I was told I would need to erase its content before I can sync the new library. What I want to know is that when I sync my iPod Touch, will the content I've downloaded since its last sync be erased, or will it be picked up by my MacBook before it wipes the data?
Without syncing : File>Transfer Purchases
This will move the itunes purchases to the computer. -
Itunes wont recognize my 4th gen ipod touch but computer will
iTunes refuses to recognize my 4th gen. iPod touch. Both are up to date with software and ive restarted my computer, ipod, and itunes multiple times and done everything ive found online. the computer recognizes it and says its working properly, but itunes does not put it anywhere in the devices. nor can i find it.
You need a third-party program like TouchCopy or PhoneView to copy photos from photos synced to the iPod to a computer.
