IPod touch "chokes" on Transfer of Playlists

I've had a periodic problem where my iPod touch 2nd gen. will choke during the transfer of a kind of long playlist of new songs from iTunes to the touch. Typically this will involve a playlist of about 25 or so songs that were ripped from my CDs into iTunes (as opposed to songs purchased from iTunes).
I have iTunes set up to allow for manual manipulation and transfer of songs and apps rather than for automatic synching of the iPod touch with iTunes. I don't always have this problem with transfers of playlists but have had it three times recently. Each time, about 18 songs from each playlist transferred successfully onto my iPod and then I got an error message saying that transfers could not take place because my iPod touch was not connected.
Then I would usually eject and disconnect my iPod, reboot it and try again. Sometimes the playlist would then transfer normally in its entirety but sometimes I would have to go in and manually drag over the 7 or 8 songs that would not transfer over with the playlist.
All the songs seem to play normally both within iTunes and within the iPod touch once they are successfully transferred over. Can individual songs (in mp3) be slightly corrupt (enough to interfere with transfer, but still play OK)?

Thanks. Yes my flat panel G4 1 GHz is the one with a half of a soccer ball for a base and stainless steel arm supporting a flat screen. No doubt, it does have USB 1 and not USB 2, that's for sure. But it certainly does work fine with my iPod touch except for this particular problem I've intermittently experienced. I'm doubtful that USB 1 is the cause. Do you think it is?

Why is it not in itunes?
It should always be in itunes and included in your regular backup of your computer.

Backup the iPod Touch and then restore the iPad from the backup of the iPod Tocuh and that should transfer your game data into the iPad.
the way I would do it is backup the iPod, transfer purchases, sync one last time. When you activate the iPad, you will be given the opportunity to restore from the iPod backup - choose that option at the appropriate time.

If you use iCloud for backups and not iTunes, backup the iPod with iCloud and then activate the iPad, and restore from the iPod backup.

My Ipod Touch can't create a Playlist Folder in My Itunes

Anyone managed to create Playlist folder in you Ipod Touch to combine all similar Genres into 1 folder? Now my I-Touch is already having huge playlist because I can't organize it. Please Help. Thanks.

Because not all MP3s are having all this information. Another thing is, the default view of Ipod is the list of all playlists, it is very easy if you will organize all the songs base on the Artist Name (using folder) and put all your albums inside the folder. Or Folder by Genre -> inside is Folder by Artists -> and inside is By Albums. Thanks.

Ipod touch bluetooth file transfer

I recently asked about file transfer from an ipod touch to my Mac Mini (Lion 10.7.3) and the answer was it could not be done. I am just an old retired mainframe systems programmer (well, Sun Solaris also) but I have dealt with a LOT of data transfer methods between computers with different architectures. So my next question is DUH! why can't you do file transfers between an ipod touch and a mac via Bluetooth ??!!

Because Apple has chosen not to make this a feature of the ipod/iphone/ipad.

IPod Touch won't shuffle full playlist

iPod Touch, 16GB, iOS 6.1.6
Problem: Selecting shuffle on a particular playlist (900 songs) results in a shuffle of only 174 songs. Playing the playlist directly (without shuffle) plays all 900 songs. Playing the playlist in iTunes (either as is or shuffle) plays all 900 songs.
Other playlists (ranging from 137 songs to 467 songs) play/shuffle all songs as expected on both iPod and iTunes.
Troubleshooting:
* Shut down iPod and restarted - no change.
* Reviewed playlist, resync - no change.
* Recreated playlist from scratch, reloaded - no change.
* Checked shuffle selection - last song is different every time (in case a corrupted MP3 was killing the shuffle)

Found the problem - apparently, one of my kids set "skip when shuffling" on a bunch of Christmas music when using iTunes as background music this summer..*laugh*

I installed iCloud on my iPod, however, did not transfer my playlist.

I installed iCloud on my iPod as well as my iPad. It transferred everything to my iPad but it neglected to transfer the playlist to my iPod. Does anyone have a solution. I went to the Apple Store and a technician made a recommendation but that did not work. Thanking you in advance.

Items on iPod Touch won't transfer to a new computer,,,,HELP !!

Hi Everybody-
I have a new laptop and wanted to start using it as the main computer to sync/download for my iPod touch. So I download/install the newest version of iTunes, I plug in my iPod touch and it sycs my music, but not my podsacts and other items.
Queation 1. How can I get all the items off my old computer iTunes and loaded into the new one on my laptop ????
Question 2. is it possiable to sync the full contents of the ipod touch to the new computer.
if it helps, I have authorized the new account on the new laptop, and selected sync all podcasts,,,but I got an error message regarding that it cannot sync them.

Thanks for the advise, I did that option and it brought over all my apps, but still none of my podcasts. the message says that it con not sync the podcasts because it says, the podcasts selected for syncing no longer exist. I guess I'll have to re-subscribe, but I think there has to be a better way to get what I have on my iPod to iTunes,,,just like the App's and my Music.

Can't find The Avengers movie on old iPod Touch after sync/transfer with iTunes.

iTunes acts like it transfered The Avengers movie to old iPod Touch, but iPod doesn't show it's there. It shows the memory was used, but says there are 0 videos.

Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Unsync/delete all music and resync

I have a 5th gen iPod Touch. I have made playlists in iTunes. I need to get them to the iPod. When I had a Classic, it was automatic. You could drag and drop using iTunes music to the playlist in iTunes and it would automatically sync to the Classic.

I have a 5th gen iPoc Touch. In the past, with the Classic, I could drag and drop from my iTunes music to a Classic playlist through iTunes. Now, the playlist I create in iTunes doesn't show on the Touch. I have maybe 29 GB of music on my Touch. I have already created playlists in iTunes that have substantial amounts of songs in each. How can I get those playlists on the Touch without doing a total sync that wipes the iPod? Is there a way to do it?
As well, I am noticing here that my 5th gen iPod doesn't show as a registered device. How do I register it?

I have a neew laptop and need to know how to make my laptop home computer instead of my pc.

- Move your iTunes library to the new computer by:
iTunes: How to move your music to a new computer
- Transfer iTunes purchased from the iPod to the computer by:
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to a computer
- Connect the iPod to the computer and make a backup by right clicking on the iPod under Devices in iTunes and select Back Up
- Restore the iPod from that backup
