Ipod touch display goes white
Sometimes, while accidently putting pressure on certain parts of my ipod touch, the screen blanks out, like the display was disconnected somehow. This is temporarily solved when I press down on the space above the screen, but after a while it happens again. Any suggestions?
Yes, it the iPod is deffective (it sounds like it is) and the iPod has not been abused. Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Aplle store and find out. If defective and not abused you should walk out with a replacement.

IPod Touch Is Going White & Wont Restore
I am having severe problems with my ipod touch, this is my second ipod and it is doing the same thing the other did.
It will turn on fine, and stuff after i do a soft restart and it will work, till it goes dead then i will plug it in and the screen will go white and it will not work any more, and when i try to reset it to factory settings it will not reset. It freezes either with a black or white screen...and it is very annoying, i am out of warranty, and can not afford another one, what should i do? please help! no sarcastic answers please!!!
Also it is saying trying to restore and it says then that a itunes internal error occured..and now all it has on it, if it turns on is a apple logo with a usb cord put on it to connect to my computer..

HT201263 after restarting and restoring ipod touch, display is still white screen
after restarting and restoring ipod touch, display is still white screen. I have done this several times. One time, the display went to the home screen, but immediately went back to the white screen when I plugged it into the charge cord. The music continued to play however. help!
If you restored to factory settings/new iPod and still have the problem that indicates a hardware problem.
Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store..

My Ipod touch displays white lines across my entire screen. I've turned it on and off and it still hasn't cleared up.HELP!?!
Try the standard fixes:
- Reset. Nothing is lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory defaults/new iPod
If you still have the problem that points to a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order. -

Is the iPod Touch always going to backup?
Since updating to 2.0, iTunes wants to backup my iPod every time I connect. Is my iPod Touch always going to do a Backup during the sync process or is there a setting to adjust this?
This is what I do.
I created a TextEdit file and stored it on my desktop, It is two lines (commands) separated by a return. You can copy the two commands from this message to your clipboard. The two commands are:
defaults write com.apple.iTunes DeviceBackupsDisabled -bool true
defaults write com.apple.iTunes DeviceBackupsDisabled -bool false
When used in the Mac OSX application Terminal, the first line is used to turn off backups. The second turns them back on.
Once you have the TextEdit file saved in the location that you want, do the following steps.
1. Open your TextEdit file
2. Highlight the command you want. Use only one. I triple click the text with my Logitech mouse.
3. Select Edit>Copy
4. Open the application Terminal
5. Select Edit>Paste (Hit return if you don't get a new prompt.)
6. Terminal does not confirm the result of the command. You just get the same prompt as before.
7. Type exit. Terminal responds "Process Completed"
8. Quit Terminal and TextEdit You are done and ready to sync.
This takes about thirty seconds compared to the backup which in my case takes hours.
PLEASE NOTE
I use my Administrator account to do this. Never tried it with a Standard account.
If you choose to disable backups, any data saved in iPod touch applications will be lost if you have to do a restore.
I tested the no backup command a few minutes ago and it worked syncing my iTouch 1G to my iMac.
I posted this step by step incase you have never used Terminal. My apologies to the Unix geeks.
Use at your own risk.

How do I work through "Your Apple ID has been disabled" on an Ipod Touch?
My child's Ipod touch displays "Your Apple ID has been disabled" when attempting to update game Apps. I have reset the password, and reset the Ipod to factory settings; did not resolve. This began by entering wrong Apple ID password multiple times. Thank you.Contact iTunes Support or browse the More Like This section on the right.

Did you reset your phone like this: Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart.
If that didn't help I suggest having a technician examine your phone. Make an appointment at an Apple Store to have your device examined by a technician. Or contact Apple Support. -
