IPod Touch do anything, or connect to iTunes.

I tried updating the software on my iPod the other day, and it turned off and on again and everything, but it told me to connect it to iTunes. I did, but now my iPod is constantly showing the Apple logo and has been doing this ever since I tried to update it, and I can't turn it off or use it. However, when I went to connect it to iTunes, I was directed to downloading the newer version of iTunes. So I did, and now i can't use my iPod, which I need urgently! And I can't connect it to iTunes.
Is it my iPod that needs to be fixed or do I need to do something with iTunes?

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

For how to restore:
iTunes: Restoring iOS software
To restore from backup see:
iOS: How to back up
If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
You can redownload iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

Errors 3000-3999 (3004, 3013, 3014, 3018, 3164, 3194, and so on): Error codes in the 3000 range generally mean that iTunes cannot contact the update server (gs.apple.com) on ports 80 or 443.
Update to the latest version of iTunes.
Verify the computer's date and time are accurate.
Check that your security or firewall software is not interfering with ports 80 or 443, or with the server gs.apple.com.

    Maybe here:

Troubleshoot your USB connection. If the issue persists, out-of-date or incorrectly configured third-party security software may be causing this issue. Please follow Troubleshooting security software issues. .
Next would be to make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

  • Tried to update to newest version. I got error because i didn't have this recovery program disc that was supposed to come with the purchase but it didn't and now my ipod touch 8gb won't connect with itunes and is stuck on a connection with itunes screen

I tried to update to newest version via pc. I got error because i didn't have this recovery program disc that was supposed to come with the purchase so it says, but it didn't and now my ipod touch 8gb won't connect with itunes anymore and is stuck on a screen displaying an itunes icon with a usb icon.

oke i'm not done with the whole thing, but i'm doing that right now. Most of the advice I've already read didn't work and at a certain point it said something about shutting down programs then restart. but i notice that there are some pretty important system things in that list and i don't want to mess up my pc :s i'm not a pc genius... and because i'm dutch and my pc-language is in dutch I often have trouble translating and well... i don't always understand the technical stuff in all the articles -_-

Hi, I've reset my 2nd generation ipod touch. However, the connect to itunes graphic appears on the screen but when I attach to my powerbook it doesn't show up either in itunes or finder. I can't be the first to have experienced this problem. please could someone advise me.

What iOS do you have on the iPod?
Did it every connect to your computer with that iOS?
The latest iOD for the 2G is 4.2.1 and that required a Mac with 10.5.8 or later.
    Have you tried:
    - another USB port and cable
    - iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: Device not recognized in iTunes for Mac OS X

  • IPod touch (1G) won't connect to iTunes Windows 7

iPod touch firmware is 3.1.3. iTunes is version 10.3.1.55. Windows 7 is Professional version, 64-bit.
I've found a number of web posts about this issue dating back to 2009, but none of those solve my issue or exactly describe it. I can put my iPod touch into Device Recovery Mode, connect to iTunes, and restore the iPod, but once that is done, I cannot connect the device to iTunes (Windows 7 64-bit mode).  However, I can connect the iPod to my Vista laptop, and I can connect the iPod to my Windows 7 machine if I run iTunes in the XP Mode virtual machine (32 bit).  I've gone through the steps looking for a conflicting USB service, and if there is one, it's part of Windows 7.  This started after I updated iTunes recently, but I'm not sure that had anything to do with it since I had not connected it in a while, and the first thing I did was update iTunes.  Any ideas?  Thanks in advance. -john

I've got the same problem for a long time
did you find the answer ?
    thanks

  • IPod Touch is stuck in "connect to iTunes" screen. It is not recognized by iTunes or by my Windows (64-bit) computer.

I recently purchased a new laptop after my old one ceased to function. Therefore, I had lost ,my old iTunes, and my iPod is no longer authorized by a functioning computer. I downloaded the latest version of iTunes, plugged my iPod in, and tried to install the new iPod Touch software update. I got the error message that the installation had failed, and iTunes automatically ejected my iPod, leaving it in the "connect to iTunes" screen, in which it has been stuck ever since (about 9 days now). I have uninstalled and re-installed iTunes, have rebooted my computer numerous times, I have tried various holdings of the power button and home button as recommended on several help forums, etc. to no avail. I am using a Windows 7 (64-bit) system on a brand new HP Pavilion dm4 laptop with plenty of space and the newest version of iTunes installed. My iPod Touch (3G) is not being recognized by iTunes or by my laptop. I would like to, if possible, restore my iPod to original factory settings so that it can be authorized on my new laptop and will sync approrpiately. Any help anyone can provide will be immensely appreciated. Thank you.
Also, the iTunes is the version for a 64-bit Windows OS.

    - First I would remove and reinstall all the Apple software using the following and then restoring the ipOd.
Removing and reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows Vista or Windows 7
    - Next see if manually placing the iPOd in recovery mode will allow a restore. For recovery mode see:
iPhone and iPod touch: Unable to update or restore
    - Next try DFU mode:
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - Next try another computer/cable to help determine if you have a computer or iPod problem.
    - If the other computer works and yours does not see:

  • I have a brand new ipod touch and it wont connect to itunes or my computer!!??

I have a brand new ipod touch however when I connect it to my computer, itunes does not recognise it and neither does my computer. The drivers have downloaded and are showing working. I have tried uninstalling and re-installing itunes as discussed in support centre however nothing seems to work. The ipod itself just has the connect to the computer on the screen, is fully charged and when plugged in a little lock sign comes up for a second or two above the itunes icon!!! Let me know if you have any further suggestions please.

Thanx for you suggestions, I used my old xp laptop...update software and my ipod connected however the memory is not large enough to hold my itunes library so I could see it was not the cable or the ipod at fault.
I have tried to connect to my vista laptop again and have tried all of the suggestions in troubleshooting again...I have even upgraded to windows 7 to see if that cleared the problem....and....my computer has located my ipod but is only recognising it as a digital camera so back to the drawing board...
Please have you any other suggestions???

  • IPod Touch 3rdGen stuck in connect to itunes mode and driver missing

Ok what happened was I wasn't at my own house and and I wanted to put some new music on my iPod touch 3rd Generation. I had to update to the new itunes first. Then once I was finished I remembered I had to update my iPod touch so I clicked on update. Then at some point the ipod screen had the USB connect to itunes and a window comes up saying Windows needs to install driver software for your apple mobile device ( recovery mode ) and my computer cant find it. I have went into the device manager and when i click on properties for the apple mobile device recovery clicked properties and in the device status box it sais
"This device is not configured correctly. (Code 1)
There is no driver selected for the device information set or element.
To reinstall the drivers for this device, click Reinstall Driver."
I have looked to re download the drivers and I can't find them. The other problem is my primary computer is not working and if i have to completely reset my ipod i will lose practically everything because I have a feeling my primary laptop is getting reset.
So to conclude it's really saying my apple mobile device recovery mode is there, but there is not a driver installed to it.

    - First I would remove and reinstall all the Apple software using the following and then restoring the ipOd.

  • My ipod touch is stuch on connect to itunes screen and once in itunes wont restore or let me back into my ipod. What do i do?

My ipod touch 4th gen was given to me by a friend. It worked fine until it got the recent update ios6. when i went to install it gave me a black screen that had the connect to itunes symbol.I plugged it in and it instantly told me to restore my ipod. All i want to do is be able to use my ipod again so i said yes. Half way through each time it tells me there  is an error something is not connected or timed out and it stops.I have tried holding down home/sleep button and rebooting but each time it brings me strait back to plug into itunes screen and does not give me slide to shut off option. I have tried plugging it into a different computer (my home and my lap top) i have plugged it into the wall. i have done everything i have seen imaginable.I tried calling apple one guy said he'd help even though it wasnt under warrenty but had to call me back and (surprise) he never did and the second before he would connect me to help said i needed to pay 20 bucks. I dont have the money to do phone service and the genius bar is an hour drive away. Is there anything i can try that i havent yet? Or a way to completely shut it down and turn it on like brand new out of the box? Im really stressing out over this because ive never had to deal with this before. Please help!!

  • Shattered iPod Touch 4g can't connect to iTunes - locked with passcode?

Okay, so I have an iPod Touch that was run over by a van and the digitizer is entirely shattered - pieces are falling off and part of the underneath is exposed. The LCD is also non-functional - I only get white (assuming this is just the backlight). I need to backup the content on it but when plugged in, iTunes says it cannot connect because it is locked with a passcode. I know the passcode, but I cannot type it in because the screen does not work. Is there a way for me to type it in from my computer or anything else? All suggestions are appreciated!
