Ipod Touch dock style

Hi
I've noticed in several pictures that the ipod touch icon dock loock mor like a black version of the leopard desktop dock, and i would love to find out if this is just fancy photshop work, a jailbroken ipod (which i dont plan in doing) or an out dated version of the ipod touch software.
Please let me know
Thanks

I could only guess. It looks like just an edited image, with the reflections under the icons at the bottom. Certainly not like my iPod, which is running v2.1.1 of the firmware. As you know, there are no settings that allow you to change the look of the Home Screens. So if it were a photo of a real iPod, it suggests jailbreaking, which is the only way I've heard of to change the "theme" of the Home Screen.
All you can really do is consider the source of these images. Have you contacted the people at SlipperyBrick to ask them?
Regards.

  • The Ipod Touch dock adapter!

Uh...What's up with the Ipod Touch dock adapter? I means it's kinda big, while other ipods it fits perfectly into the dock adapter. Is the Ipod Touch dock adapter supposed to be big? I mean there's gap when you put your IPT into the dock adapter. Hm....O_O

Ah okay. Thanks for the answer. When I first tried it out, i thought they put the wrong size in there~

  • IPod Touch & Dock - no audio Component Cable

    Hi all.
I have a Component Cable to connect iPod Touch (1st Gen) to stereo for audio and it works perfectly when I plug the cable directly into the iPod but if I put the iPod Touch in the Apple Universal Dock then connect the dock using the Component Cable (red/white) to the stereo I get no sound at all.
The dock works correctly if I connect it using a 3.5mm cable to the stereo.
Does anyone know why this would happen when it is plugged into the dock?
    Thanks

  • What is this? (From 4th Gen iPod Touch dock connector)

I recently bought a 5th Gen iPod Touch which is great. My 4th gen broke a year ago and wouldn't charge. This morning I decided I'd see what's wrong with it. I shone my flashlight in the dock connector and I realised this thing wasn't connected to anything and was kind of just... sitting there. What is it?

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try another cable
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • TS2634 Problem IPod Touch docking station.

I have an IPod Touch in a docking station which drives a player piano,  I have an Apple A1256 docking station with a remote control.  The IPod suddenly stopped working in the docking station.  The IPod screen appears to show the IPod playing, but no signal is leaving the docking station.  When I plug the piano directly into my IPod, the piano plays.  Has anyone encountered the problem of losing output from a docking station, and if so, how did you fix it?

    - Inspect the dock connector on the iPod and dock for bent or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.
    - Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. Bring both iPod and dock

  • Random "clicking" sound when 16GB iPod touch docked with speakers

    Hi all,
My friend recently got a 16GB iPod touch. It works fine with headphones but whenever she docks it into her speakers or my own a random clicking sound can be heard. It doesn't matter if the thing is actually playing a track or not, so long as it's docked on the speakers the sound is heard. It also happens with the wi-fi switched off.
She recently paid the £12.99 for the update that adds Google maps etc. so I was thinking maybe that would update the firmware and fix the problem but it hasn't. I'm suspecting a fault with her iPod, has anyone else encountered this issue and knows of a fix short of returning it to Apple for a working one?
    Thanks in advance,
    8

Thanks very much, that seems to have fixed it!
Must admit I was a little skeptical but on my speakers (Altec Lansing ones) it's silent when not playing music and no distortions or clicks are audible when it is. On my friend's own speakers (some fairly anonymous brand) there is a little hissing and clicking but I think they do that with my own 1st generation Nano plugged in. She's getting some new Logitech ones, a set for her living room and another for her bedroom so hopefully that's it sorted.
    Cheers again!

  • Is it OK to leave my iPod Touch docked on a docking speaker when I'm not using it?

Hello. I'd like to know if it's OK leaving my iPod Touch permanently docked on a docking speaker when I'm not using it, or else can be risky to the iPod or the battery to have it permanently charging.
    Thank you.

For maximum battery life you should monthly fully discharge the battery and then fully charge it.

  • IPod Touch dock adaptor - black or white?

This may sound like a dumb question, but does the dock adaptor that comes with your Touch always come in white? Or do some boxes contain a black one? I'm curious because the item I want to use this adaptor for is all black, but of course I got a white adaptor.

Sadly, Apple has yet to add black accessories to the lineup.
Frankly, it's the only thing Apple does right now that seems really cheesy to me.
Same with the remotes, power cords, etc.

  • Anyone got the new iPod touch 2nd gen to work with the fatman itube dock???

    Hi all,
Recently for christmas I've bought a new iPod touch 2nd gen and it's awesome, everything is great about it - in my opinion; except for the fact that I tried to dock it on the fatman itube docking station and found it not to work. Before I used it I was aware that the 2nd gen is unable to charge on the dock however I didn't expect the speakers not to work too. All that happens is a message on the ipod comes up saying unable to charge with this accessory but doesn't put any sound output into the fatman, it just sits there blasting out it's own quiet internal speaker, and also strangely the remote DOES work too???
I've read on the net that maybe resetting the ipod by holding the home+stand-by switch for 10 secs but this resets and does not fix the problem...
There are many photos on the fatman website showing a ipod touch docked so it seems to be sold as working with it but who's to blame for this fault? Apple or fatman?? And does anybody know of a fix for it?
Also I tried my mums ipod nano with the fatman - works fine, and my firmware on the ipod touch is nice and up to date with version 2.2 so I can't see anything else I can do. This was my christmas & birthday present and at the moment I'm quite annoyed that all I can do to it is stick a mini jack in the headphone socket - not ideal since there's no video output or remote control that way!!!
Please give advice if there is any out there,
    Thanks,
    Mrghostie.

This is an Answer for a Possible Solution. It worked for me and is still working. The issue I was having with my 64 bit vista, was Apple Mobile Device Service was not being installed, I dont know why. But I disabled any active running program through MSCONFIG, to allow a clean uninterrupted install of ITUNES 8.02. This allowed AMDS and drives from ITUNES to install. Hope this works for most of you.
APPLE, please review your Support Methods. Re-installing doesnt help an issue that resulted from installing.

  • Ipod Touch Icons & Iphone

Anybody else curious if the new pretty shiny dock style will make it onto the next iphone update?
Seeing the ipod touch dock icons now with the sleek reflective floor it makes the iphone icons look old.
    What do you think?

It is a good possibility. Then again, only Apple knows...

  • Portable DVD Player Compatable with iPod touch?

Does anyone know of a portable DVD player compatible with iPod touch that has a reasonable battery life? Philips makes a portable DVD player - the DCP 851 - that has an iPod touch dock, but the battery life is only 2.5 hrs. There are several other portable DVD players out there with substantially longer battery lives (Panasonic has one with a 13 hr. battery life), but generally they don't seem to be compatible with an iPod (most appear to only have A/V input through a mini jack, and I can't seem to find an iPod-to-mini jack converter). Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

It will only require that you change the security and password on your other devices. Apple devices work much better with WPA, and WPA is far more secure than WEP.
It should be relatively simple to re-configure the router's wireless security to use WPA2 or WPA Personal security. WPA passwords do not require any special characters like WEP does. Once you re-configure the router all you need do is make the appropriate changes in your other devices to use WPA security and enter the new password.

  • Coin wedged in charging port ipod touch

I pulled a coin out that was wedged in the charging port of my 1st generation ipod touch. It will charge but is not recognized in iTunes. Any idea on how to get itunes to recognize my iPod?

bhazel, the coin was in the dock connector of the iPod, not the a computer USB port.
Look at the dock connector on the iPod. Look for abnormalities like bent or corroded contacts, foreign material and cracked or broken plastic. I suspect something was damaged.
Apple will exchange your iPod for a refurbished for this price:

There are third-party places that will replace the dock connector for less. Google for

  • My ipod touch isn't recognized by my computer or my dock

My ipod touch 4th generation won't connect to my computer or my memorex dock! I tried connecting my ipod with 2 different usb cables to both my computer and my mothers and it wasn't recongized at all by both. I also tried connecting it through an external port from my laptop fan thing, but that was unsuccessful as well. I've had some past trouble getting my ipod to connect to my computer (windows 7), but once I put the usb back or changed the usb port in a few times it always recognized it. Everything is fine with the wifi sync, its just not working so I can connect via usb to my computer. I've been trying to get it to do so for the past 2 hours. Also, it won't charge in my docking station! It will play music, everything its supposed to do, except charge! The funny thing was that it worked fine about 2 hours ago and had no problems whatsoever with it! I have a feeling these two are somehow connected! I haven't done anything to it either like dropped it or splashed water on it, like I said a few hours ago it was perfectly normal!! And yes, I've been on pretty much every page of this website and google looking for answers and upadted and unintstalled and reuntalled and resest and rebooted! So please unless you'll be the answer don't put it down! This is my last resort before the apple store! Please help! Thank you!! (:

All I can suggest is to make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store

  • IPod Touch 3G w/ stopped working with car stereo/docking speakers

After I upgraded to OS 4, my iPod Touch 3g stopped working through the USB port of my car stereo (just says "reading" and never progresses from there). It also stopped working through the docking station (basically a large clock radio) that I bought for my living room -- it will recharge and play music through the speakers but the docking station and its remote can no longer control the music (can't advance to the next song or anything else), so I have to physically change things on the ipod itself.
I was told by Crutchfield (where I'd purchased the car stereo) that this was a known problem with Apple -- that with OS4, many of the devices that previous worked with iPods no longer worked, and that this would be resolved in a later version of the OS that would provide some backward compatibility. However, I can't find anything at all about this.
If anyone knows more information about this, or has a link to where I might be able to read more, I'd appreciate the info. I selected and installed both the (almost new!!) car stereo and docking station specifically because they allowed me to connect and control my iPod, and now I've lost that functionality and the $$ I put into those devices (over $300 total)!

I apologize for posting a bit early.  Found an Alpine manual online and i needed to set the AUX port to off.  They also recommended a reset of the Touch.  After doing these two things it is now working.  Maybe this will help someone else.
