Ipod touch does not appear in tunes

My ipod touch does not appear in itunes when I plug it in.  I have tried everything I can think of, including erasing all content on the ipod, starting over, restarting the computer, etc.  When I restart the computer, sometimes iPHOTO comes up automatically, but iTunes shows no device connected.  What should I do next???  HELP!  (I just installed Snow Leopard OS, if that might have something to do with it)....

I have the latest iTunes version installed.  I tried all the USB ports.  I will take the pod home and try it in one of our computers there.  Other things plugged into the USB ports work fine.  Any idea why it would recognize the ipod as a camera, but not appear as an ipod in itunes?

  • Cannot sync app to my ipod touch - does not appear in list to sync

    Hello...
I am having a problem. I downloaded an app to my ITunes, but when I click on my ipod touch and go to Apps, it does not appear in the list.
I don't know if this contributed to the problem, but I had to create a different user account (the one I am using now) to get the None option to show up instead of having to enter a credit card to get a free app.
The app I am trying to get is See. Touch. Learn. by Brain Parade.

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes.
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

I upgraded my mac book pro to Mt. • Ipod touch does not appear in itunes

I recently updated my macbook to osx 10.6.3.  Within a few days of installing the new software, my iTunes no longer recognized my ipod touch.  When I open iPhoto, I can still import photos from my ipod, but it doesn't show up in iTunes.  I have restarted my iPod and my computer, and it still doesn't work.  Both iTunes and iPod have up to date software.  HELP!

    Dear kenne2ke ~
I know that you have already stated that you have the latest version of iTunes, but have you checked ever since to make sure that you have the latest version of iTunes? If not, you can go to the apple website and look under iTunes and check the "updates" section to see if you need to update anything. Also, you may not have the correct size iTunes software. I know that for some people with 64gb on their iPod touch, if they have Windows, they have to get the 64gb iTunes software. I understand that you do not have a Windows, but this could possibly be the case. I will post more things for you to check/update/do as I think about your post throughout the day.
    Hope I helped!

  • My ipod touch2 does not appear in itunes

My ipod touch does not appear to be connecting with itunes. The last time I synched my playlists was in Feb. and did not have a problem. I've never had this happen since the original ipod. I've updated the itunes software a couple of times since. Could that have affected the connection? I'm at a lost.

I have no clue what you mean by "all the different methods."  Here are my suggestions.
First, try a system reset.  It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.  You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore.  Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset.  It could take well over an hour!  Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod.  As before, say "yes."  Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time.  If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device.  Corrective action is simple -  choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.

This exact thing has happened to my ipod touch. I plugged in the cable at first and it was recognized but it stopped a few seconds in. • Ipod touch does not synch calendar or notes with my Windows Vista  PC

Ipod touch does not synch calendar or notes with my Windows Vista PC. I have calendar and notes entries in my Outlook calendar, but they do not synch with my Ipod touch. They used to work fine, but stopped around 2 weeks ago. I connect my ipod to i tunes, but the "info" area of itunes is not allowing me to tick the boxes to synch calendar, outlook, or notes.

    Hello Welcome To Apple Discussions
plug in your ipod and select the info tab and look for calender sync (something similar to that) and click the program your using for your calender.
    try that
    Thank You
