IPod touch doesn't like my Wifi.

I just purchased an iPod touch 4th generation.  It doesn't seem to like my wifi network at home.  All my other devices, PC, Wii, etc work fine.  I have looked at changing the channel width setting on the router, but it doesn't appear that is an option for me.  Some of my friends with Macs also seem to have issues at my house.  Any ideas?

Have you tried the troubleshooting here:

I got my screen fixed and the day i got my ipod touch 4th gen back the wifi doesnt work unless i hold it right up to my router. Roughly every foot I move back it loses a bar and if i leave the room it doesn't even have a signal completely. Could the screen replacement have tampered with the wifi capability? Also if it helps I switched internet providers and during the time when my ipod was being fixed a new router was installed and it doesnt seem to work unless directly infront of my ipod.

Take it back to where you had the screen replaced. They messed up the connection to the wifi antenna

  • HT4606 i put the new ios 5. and now my ipod touch can't open my wifi or bluetooth

i put the new ios 5....  and now my ipod touch can't open my wifi or Bluetooth it is haper on gray like it no disposable

How are you trying to accomplish these two tasks?
The correct way is as follows:
Camera zoom: pinch with your fingers like you do when viewing pictures.
Camera button in lock screen: Double-tap on the home button while in lock screen
If you are already doing it that way and it doesn't work, then maybe someone else here has another idea.

  • IPod Touch 3.1.3 Update & Wifi

    Hello All,
Since I updated my iPod Touch to OS 3.1.3 a day or two ago, I've had a really hard time reliably connecting to several different wifi hotspots. It seems to me that I can reliably connect to a hotspot once and only after a hard reboot of the iPod. If I lock/sleep the iPod, it will not be able to connect to the hotspot again. I either get a spinning gear in the Settings with a message that the iPod is unable to connect to the network or the iPod just doesn't find any wifi networks. I know there are networks where I am because I'm using them with my laptop. I administer most of these networks and they all have different hardware and configurations. Furthermore, the iPods has very reliably worked with these wifi networks in the past. Any ideas?

I am kind of in the same boat, after updating to 3.1.3 a few days ago I am unable to connect to my home wireless network. I can see it but it just says "Unable to join "home" network. I did not have this issue while I was on 3.1.2. I have done all the necessary reset network settings, reset the router, etc.
Also my battery life drains so much faster while on 3.1.3 then when I was on 3.1.2.
Does anyone know the cause of both these issues? Will apple release a fix for them soon? Is there a way just to go back to 3.1.2?
    Thanks

  • What does the iphone have that the ipod touch doesn't?

i was just wondering what the iphone has that the ipod touch doesn't if there is anything. (Apart from the obvious phone and maybe the camera)

The ipod touch has most of the same functions as the iphone with the exception of the phone, the camera, and the gps (and any features that require those functions). My wife uses one as an ipod, a very nice device, especially if you are normally in range of a wifi network.

  • Why has my iPod Touch stopped connecting to my WiFi?

Why has my iPod Touch stopped connecting to my WiFi?
It's been fine for the past 2 years but today, it's stopped. It was working this morning...
According to settings it has connected but I cannot access anything online and the internet icon is missing.
WiFi is working on my phone & laptop so it doesn't appear to be a problem with the router. Also I've just synced my iPod with iTunes, reset and restarted - still no luck.
    Any suggstions?
    Thanks

Did you already try to reset the network settings in Settings/General/Reset?

I also have an IPad2 that belongs to my daughter and it connects with our wifi at home with no problem.  But, why is my wifi telling me that my password is wrong.  I have tried everything, we have changed the pass word and that did not work.  We have have taken security off of our wifi and my ipod touch give me another message, but it won't connect to my wifi at home.  Please help... b/c the greatest thing for me is to be able to connect to wifi at home.
    thanks

I have even shut down my ipod touch to see if it fixes the lack of wifi connection at home but it keeps telling me my password is wrong.  I can connect everywhere else, but not at home.  Pls help my.. I need to connect at home.  Does it matter if we have othere decives like ipads connected to the same wifi.  Because we have an ipad2 and my ipod and up until 1 week ago, we had very little issues keeping both of our devices connected at home.  Eitherway the ipad2 is still working just fine on our home wifi, but my ipod touch keeps refuseing to accept the password.

  • My iPod touch can't find any wifi?

My iPod touch can't find any wifi at all. I've restored it reset everything and it still can't find the wifi even when I had it right next to the router. Any help please? I got this ipod from my brother a few days ago and apparently the wifi worked fine until he updated it to the 3.1 update or something like that so he gave it to me. I want to be able to connect to the wifi in my house and it just won't. Any help please????

Try the following to rule out a software problem:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Power off and then back on the router
    - Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
    - iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
    - Wi-Fi: Unable to connect to an 802.11n Wi-Fi network
    - iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

  • Ipod touch doesn't recognized by itunes password

My ipod touch doesn't recognized my itunes password, so I am not able to purchase anything from the ipod touch, but I am able to do it through my computer.

Try going to Settings>Store and sign out and then sign back in.
This is assuming that your problem is that when you try to make a purchase the PW you enter at the prompt is said to be incorrect.
