Ipod touch freezes on apple logo page.
I have an ipod touch 1st generation that has tons of my songs and stuff on it. My computor crashed so i don't have itunes, so the only thing holding my songs is my ipod. Then, the other day i was plugging it into my cousins computor to charge it and it turned off. So i turned it on again, but when it went to the apple logo page, it just stayed there. I've reset it tons of times, but it just won't get past the apple logo screen. Please help! i need my songs! I can't get a new ipod because i'll loose them all! PLEASE HELP!
Hey lilfrog411,
Are you using the iPod with any 3rd-party accessories?
If not, you may have to restore the iPod.
If you are unable to restore it, you may have to restore it from recovery mode as described here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808

Ipod touch freezes on apple logo
Hey ive been running 2.0 since its release and have found it buggy, it froze at one point and i had to reset it. now when i turn it back on it just gets stuck on the apple logo, so i can't even restore factory settings or anything. i cant connect it to itunes either.
any help on this topic would be much appreciated.Thank you very much for the reply, however, I do not think you understand my situation at all. Please allow me to clarify.
I live in Canada, but am currently in England for vacation. During my stay in England, I have purchased many applications and songs onto my iPod Touch via the wifi store. However, while in England, my iPod has experienced the dreaded "unrecoverable apple logo crash". I was just browsing the App Store when it happened.
So, the problem is that because I was not in Canada, I did not have access to my computer...and therefore no chance to make any iPod backups of my wirelessly purchased apps and songs whatsoever. Now that my iPod Touch has crashed and will not start up, I am fearing that I may have lost all my newly purchased apps and songs... and that iTunes may refuse to either refund or resend my purchases.
I have emailed iTunes Support to no avail. Please help me. -
IPOD touch freezes on Apple logo screen
I already know how to restore it, I've done it a dozen times last week. I am just tired of it. Does anyone know how to resolve this? When restoring, I have alternately tried both the "Restore as New" and "Restore from backup" options .. and also have tried deleting past copies .. no matter what, it still freezes a lot. I am awaiting an email reply from Apple but does anyone know if Apple is doing anything to fix this problem? Do they even acknowledge the problem? Is there a phone number to successfully contact Apple, because when I called (the Apple store), I was told to write them an email about the problem.
Some background info which may or may not be useful:
I have a 16 G Itouch and the 1st time it froze was during the play of the App game "Diamond Twister". The freezes now occur at random.
Thanks for anyone's help.hold the power and home key for 10 seconds until the ipod is powered off.
plug in the usb cord into the computer WITHOUT the ipod
then while connecting the ipod, hold down the home button until the itunes connect logo appears on the ipods screen
then in itunes it will telll u to restore
restore and set up as a NEW ipod and it should be fixed DONT RESTORE FROM A BACKUP. -
I tried to reset my ipod touch but the apple logo wont go away and isnt responding to my computer HELP!!
Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

my iPod touch stuck in apple logo.I try to recovered ,but after recovery start error message comes and says try later.what should i do ?
Try:
- Powering off and then back on your router.
- iTunes for Windows: iTunes cannot contact the iPhone, iPad, or iPod software update server
- Change the DNS to either Google's or Open DNS servers
Public DNS — Google Developers
OpenDNS IP Addresses
- For one user uninstalling/reinstalling iTunes resolved the problem
- Try on another computer/network
- Wait if it is an Apple problem -
My iPod Touch shows the Apple logo splash screen and then turns off.
When I turn my iPod Touch on, the Apple logo is shown and then it turns off. After a few seconds, it shows up again. It continues to do this non-stop. Is there anything I can do? Any help would be greatly Appriciated
Let the battery fully drain. It may take awhile. After charging for at least an hour. If the iPod does not cycle on and off any more try:
iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
Otherwise it appears you have a hardware problem and an appointment at the genius Bar of an Apple store is in order. -

Ipod Touch frozen at apple logo screen
I try to turn on or reset my ipod and the apple logo appears and nothing happens. The ipod is not being recognized by itunes either? Any suggestions appreciated.
Thanks,
AugieI have now had this freeze problem on two iPhone 3G's and now my iPod Touch 32 GB.
Here is what you have to do.
Plug your Touch into your computer via the USB cable
Now press both the top switch (sleep/wake) button and the home button at the same time. Hold these two buttons down until the iPod Touch powers down and then continue holding both down until the Apple logo reappears (reboot). As soon as the Apple logo reappears let go of the top button and continue holding the home button down for about 10-15 seconds. You will then get a screen that shows a USB cable to be connected to the iPod Touch (it's already connected). Now the iPOd Touch will mount and via iTunes you will get a message to restore.
Restore takes a while so be patient.
This is a huge headache and the worst of it is that if you have an iPhone you lose the use of the phone itself. If you are out and about you cannot restore so you are without a phone!
Hope this works for those of you having problems. Post here if you still have problems.

IPod touch stuck in Apple logo + waiting circle loop
Hello everybody,
I have an iPod touch 3g with the latest version of IOS4. It worked perfectly fine until yesterday afternoon, when suddenly it got stuck in a loop, showing me nothing more than the Apple logo and a minute of the spinning circle. After that, the screen goes black for a few seconds and it starts all over again. When I connect it to my MacBook, iTunes has no problem finding the iPod. However, as soon as the loop starts over again, it's no longer listed in iTunes. The things I tried:
- I tried to restore the iPod. Technically, this worked, however, the device is still stuck in that loop.
- I tried to drain the battery, and then do practically everything it says on the Apple Support pages and everything I found in this discussion board.
Nothing I did, seemed to do the trick. When I plugged the iPod into my car, I could even listen to music for about a minute, before the loop started over again.
Now, does anyone have any clues what to do? I would really appreciate any form of support, as I'm completely out of ideas. Thanks in advance!

I plugged my iPod into my computer to retore it and proceeded to do so as told. The only thing that happened after that was that the Apple logo keeps showing up and nothing else. My computer/iTunes no longer recognizes my iPod either.

IPod touch frozen on apple logo?
While running an app on my iPod touch 4th Generation 8GB, the screen froze showing the Apple logo with a small loading circle which isn't moving. It looks like the iOS has crashed on my device. I have tried putting the device into recovery mode (plugging into PC, holding sleep/wake and the home button) but I would appreciate if you could explain how to properly put it into recovery mode! After plugging the device into iTunes, iTunes recognized it. I don't know what to do and I'm completely clueless! Please help! (My iPod touch 4G is running iOS 4.2)
You said "After plugging the device into iTunes, iTunes recognized it." Then just restore via iTunes.
