Ipod Touch freezes when restarting

I have an iPod Touch 4th generation, and a 2 apps kept freezing so I restarted my iPod. It went to the blank screen with the spinning loading symbol, and then stayed like that until the battery died a few hours later. I charged it up and the apps still kept freezing, so I restarted it again, and it did the same thing.
Any help or feedback would be appreciated.

- Try a reset. Nothong will be lost.
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
- First try restoring the iPod from backup
- Next, delete the apps and reinstall them.
- Last, restore to factory defaults/new iPod

I've restored settings, and its just gone back to how it was, except even worse. I turn it on, and it'll either instantly freeze, and restart, or freeze then work, then freeze again, then work again, until it eventually freezes and restarts. Also, the battery life with the new ios is dire, before my iPod would last a week or so without being turned off, now it only lasts a couple of days...
I presuming the iOS is 5.1, and its a third gen iPod touch.
Was just curious if there is a way to revert to an older iOS, as this one will not work, and if not, what else could be done.

Sorry to hear about that. Here is some info:
-you can't revert back to iOS 4.3.7 or earlier if you have upgraded to iOS 5.
Follow these steps to make your iPod stop freezing:
1- Double click on the home button. Some apps should appear. Hold onto the first one until it starts to jiggle. Then go through all of them and tap the little minus button.
2- Hold the power button down until your iPod completely turns off. Wait 30 seconds and turn it back on. That should stop it, but if it doesn't, do the following.
Plug your iPod into your computer and open up iTunes. Then click restore. (This will take a couple of miunutes). Then Put all your apps and music (and whatever else) back onto your iPod.
*OR*
Go to Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup >Back Up Now. Let it back up your iPod to iCloud. (This shouldn't take very long). Next go to Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content And Settings. IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT YOU BACK UP YOUR IPOD TO ICLOUD!
Now it will delete EVERYTHING off your iPod. (This includes iOS, and sometimes if your iPod is freezing, it is because you dropped or banged your iPod on something when you where upgrading to iOS 5). Now you need to go through and select your language, location settings and other stuff. When you get to the part where you need to decide where you want to restore your iPod from, choose iCloud and select your WiFi network. Now you need to decide whick restore point to choose. Most people choose the latest one, but you may want to choose the one before that. Now it will restore your iPod.
This should work. If this doesn't, go to you local Apple store and talk to a specialist in iPods or someone behind the genius bar.

IPod Touch Freezes when I select a certain Photo.

So I saved a photo to my iPod Touch to use as a background when i was surfing safari. Whenever I select the particular photo my iPod freezes until it crashes and restarts. I tried deleting the photo but it freezes before I can... I also tired resetting the iPod and everything was deleted but those photos.... its so ********. What else can I do?

Ipod touch freezes when every its trying to reset

So i decided to reset my ipod and when ever its on the apple screen with the little loading circle it would freeze and then restart and and freeze again. I do not no what to do.

I would place the iPod in recovery mode and try to restore it. See:

If that does not work I would let the battery fully discharge via the repeating freeze and restart and then try charing it and see what happens when you either turn it on or reset it.

Ipod touch freezes when plugging into ford escape via aux input (not sync)

My daughter tried to plug her ipod touch into her escape using line-in and it freezes. My son's does not. His is newer than hers. Can I assume a software update will correct her problem? She says she has never updated the ipod software...don't know if its 1st or 2nd generation. Her escape does not have Sync, just an aux input jack.

IPod Touch freeze when stopping iTune backing up iPod

I have experienced this problem a few times. I have 80 freewares installed. It takes almost 2 hours to backup my iPod Touch. My iPod Touch is not responding when I stopped the backup process in the middle. I have to restore to make it work again. This must be a bug because this is repeatable. In addition, mail application is not working for Yahoo mail, the mail app will quit automatically. POP3 mail is not working too, the only mail working is gmail. Help, help, help Apple we have a problem with your product!

Yeah, the more apps that are installed on the iPod the longer the backup takes. Stopping the backup in iTunes (which I've done several times) shouldn't cause issue with the iPod. When you restore the iPod are you restoring from your most recent completed backup, or are you setting up as a new iPod? If you haven't already done so, you might want to set it up as a new iPod and see if that allows you to recreate the issue or not. If it works that way, it may be an issue with the backup file that's being used. Note that setting up as a new iPod doesn't delete the backup... if you choose to, you an always right-click on the iPod in the source list of iTunes and choose the "Restore from Backup" option. I haven't seen this issue myself, but I have far fewer apps installed on my iPod than you do. My mail issues were cleared up with the 2.0.2 update, but according to your signature you seem to already be running that version. Have you tried recreating the mail accounts that aren't working correctly? Depending on your preferences on your Gmail account, Gmail can be a POP or IMAP account... so it may not be all POP mail not working on your iPod, if Gmail is working.

Whenever I use it to run, it always stops on me in the middle of my run - doesn't matter if I'm listening to an album, a recorded station or if I'm directly connected to the internet. I've only owned this for 6 months and it's been a pain since day 1.

It seems like your iPod touch is not recognized by iTunes on your Mac, but your iPhone 6 is working normally.
I recommend starting with these steps to troubleshoot your iPod touch and connection with your Mac:
Check your USB connections
Unplug other USB devices from your Mac and try again.
Try a different USB port.
Try a different USB cable.
Restart your device
Restart your iOS device or reset your iPod.

Turn your Mac off and back on.

Ipod touch, Freezing while syncing.

everytime i connect my ipod it syncs my music and pictures fine, but when it starts to sync my apps it syncs about 3 apps. Then my ipod freezes while syncing, forcing me to restore my ipod from recovery mode. When i say it freezes, i mean that my ipod has the "Sync In Progress" screen, with the battery in the center, and on the bottom of the screen the "Slide To Cancel Sync" on the slider. normaly the slider is always flashing highlighting a few letters at a time, across the screen, saying "Slide To Cancel" When it freezes the slider stops flashing/scrolling and then a little spinning wheel starts to spin in the center of my ipod, on the battery logo. After about, 30 seconds the wheel stops spinning, my itunes freezes up, and my iPod touch freezes up. as soon as i disconect my frozen ipod, my itunes works again. then my ipod is stuck on the frozen "sync in progress" screen. i then have to do the long recovery/restore. Then i decided change my settings from automatic syncing to selecting what i sync. I synced my music, fine. I synced my Pictures, fine. i then decided to sync one app at a time. I first synced solitaire, fine. Then i synced sextuple, fine. Then i synced Super Monkey Ball, my ipod froze!!! So I thought that mabye thats what was freezing up my ipod. then i had to restore my ipod, again. and start the whole process over again. I synced sextuple, fine. Then i Synced super monkey ball, again, and it synced fine. then i synced solitaire, worked fine. then i synced Cube Runner, My ipod froze again. on a totaly different app. i had to restore from recovery mode again, and i synced my music, pictures, super monkey ball, solitaire, and sextuple. then i decided, i will just keep my ipod away from a computer so it won't happen again. so i have 23 apps, and i only have three on my ipod. i really want to keep trying to fix this, but i don't want to have to do a restore, and then have to resync all of my music/pictures again. I really want to know whats up with my ipod. PLEASE, IF ANYONE CAN HELP, PLEASE DO SO. I WILL BE TOTALY GREATFUL. THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!

I have been having the same problem too. i was sick and tired of it so the i brought it to an apple store and basically just told me stuff i already know, then 2 days later it started happening again. So i went to the apple store yet again, different guy same nonsense, "let me check your battery" "let me see if you memory has problems" "don't have too many applications running at the same time" on and on.. all that happened is that they restored it and said it should work... well clearly i go home to sync it, everything freezes, i go back they give me a new one... yet here i am 3 days later still having the problems even with a new ipod. i reinstalled itunes like 6 times, restored my ipod 4 times... so basically everyone is having the same problem... i guess we just gotta wait til apple realizes that they have a big problem to fix and does something for us
