IPOD TOUCH FROZEN AND WONT RESTART

Was in a app when froze and tried to turn off but instead went to a blue screen and wont restart or charge. Its only 4 days old with no damage. Not sure what to do????

You need to press the Power (on the top) and Home (on the front) buttons at the same time and hold them pressed until the Apple logo appears. Then it will re-start.

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.

  • IPod touch frozen and itunes cannot detect iPod?

It just began with me connecting my iPod to my mac and a window popping up saying "The software required for communicating with the iPod is not installed correctly, and you must manuually eject the ipod before each disconnect".I didn't know how to update it again (because my itunes is the lastest version already). You can't even see the contents (music, apps, books) of my ipod on itunes. I forgot to eject it manually today and now my ipod is frozen on the homescreen where all the apps are. Its been frozen for like an hour. I've tried holding the off button but to no avail.Now... my frozen ipod doesn't even show up on itunes. I need help!! (its a pretty old ipod touch with no camera)

Did you try to reset by holding the sleep and home button for about 10sec, untilt he Apple logo comes back again? If this does not work, try to connect in recovery mode, explained in this article:
iOS: Unable to update or restore

  • IPod Touch Frozen and password protected

I charged it just last night on a wall outlet extension, unplugged it and it is stuck on the iTunes connection with the USB cord picture. I tried restarting it, that doesn't do a thing, and I can not restore it or connect it to iTunes because of the password protection.

Okay...have you tried a reset of the iPod?
You may need to reset. Note: Only reset your iPhone or iPod touch if it is no longer responding.
    To reset
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

  • IPod touch frozen and cannot unlock

My son's iPod touch is frozen the screen will go on and just display "3MIHEHHR MOBN...." which seems like it's in a different language.  He said he was fooling around in languages.  When I plug it in via computer, i was hoping to set to default settings to unlock it.  But it knows the ipod is password protected.  Is there any other way of unlocking this device so I can get this working again for him?
    Thanks,
    Robin

  • Ipod Touch Frozen and Unresponsive, not recognized by Macbook

My Ipod Touch suddenly froze and stopped working. I have a black screen, tried the Ipod "reset" by holding both buttons for at least 10 sec. The apple symbol comes on, then the screen goes back to black. Tried this both connected and not connected to my MacBook. Ipod is not recognized when attached to USB by Itunes or MacBook. I downloaded the current version of iTunes with the same results. Please help.

I would try and put the touch into a recovery mode.
    1. Start iTunes
    2. Unplug the touch and try to turn it off (hold the sleep/wake button until you see the red slider and turn it off. This may not work so go to step 3)
    3. Hold down the Home button and, while continuing to hold the button down, plug the touch USB cable back into your computer.
    4. Continue to hold the button down until iTunes responds with "an iPod has been detected in Recovery mode". Follow the onscreen instructions and restore the device.

  • Ipod is FROZEN and WONT SHOW UP ON ITUNES/COMPUTER!

My second generation Ipod is a little more than a year old and has worked splendidly until this last monday.
Five days ago my ipod would not play a song, and when i tried to skip it, it wouldnt play that song either. The CD cover would also not show up.
This has happened to me before, so i did what i normally do to fix it, plug it into a wall charger for a whole day. However, this did nothing. Today, I took it off the charger and plugged it into my computer, a little beep sounds but wont show up on itunes or my computer.
It began to charge with my computer, but then it froze completely. Im unable to change the song or turn it off (when i take it off the computer it is still frozen for hours with the backlight and charging sign in the battery)
obviosly i can not restore it if it wont show up on itnes, and i can not put it in disk mode if it is frozen!
is there anything i can do?

Mine did the same thing, hold down the center button then press menu hold them both down for about 10 seconds. You may have to do it more than once. I hope that helps!!!!!!

what helps is maybe holding the menu button down
while moving the hold button (on top) back and forth
like twenty times. Then mine always turns on again.
Are you talking about a reset?

  • My iPod shut down and wont restart

I was using my iPod today and then I shut it down and it was working fine...a couple hours later i went to use it and it started up but after about 10 minutes it just shut down like it died and I couldn't get it to start. I have plugged it into my wall charger and computer to see if it was battery but with no success. The iPod is around 1 year old...any suggestions?

Something similar like that happened to me, I have a wall adapter separate from my computer. First I just let my IPOD sit and plug it in to the adapter and let it sit. Nothing was happening at first but then after a few hours it started recharging. Hopefully that will work for you too.
