Ipod Touch frozen between two screens

My ipod keeps switching between the Apple screen and the red battery "connect to power" screen. Even after I've had it plugged into my Macbook for over an hour, it remains unresponsive. Even after I've reset it; how do i fix this?

Reset the ipod.

1. Toggle the hold switch on top of the ipod on and off. Make sure there is not any red or orange showing.
2. Press and hold the center select button and the menu button for about 30 sec or untill you see an apple logo.
This will reboot the ipod and it will come up to the main menu.

Help!! Ipod touch alternates between black screen and apple logo.

need help!!! Since yesterday my ipod touch 1st generation shows black screena dn then every 6 seconds spple logo,It wont switch off,just keeps doing this until battery goes flat.Tried restarting it,restoring settings,nothing works.If i plug it into computer eventually comes back to home page screen but when unplugged reverst back to apple logo.Any ideas?

Oops,i mean reset and restart,not restore.I need to get everything backed up first before i restore it all and lose it! At the moment it just has a black screen then apple logo and the top button wont switch it off.
I had a thought,yesterday i downloaded the latest itunes that popped up on the screen,could this have anything to do with it?

My 2nd generation ipod touch got frozen while it was synching. i removed it from the computer, restarted it, and it is now frozen on the restart screen. i tried again to restart it, the screen went black, then the apple sign showed up and its now frozen. HELP.

I've had my Ipod touch for almost two years it is a fourth generation. Today I was going to charge it when the screen went black and had the circling loading symbol on it. It has now been stuck there for hours. My computer won't reconize it saying that there is an unknown error. What can I do to fix it?

My laptop shutdown while my Ipod was updating software. It is frozen with the apple logo & the loading bar below. When I turned my laptop back on, it will not recognize my Ipod. This means I cannot even try restoring it. I have unplugged & plugged back in & tried holding the buttons on the Ipod for 10 seconds. I'm not sure what to do! Help please!

So this guy is trying to sell me a 4th gen itouch without a screen for cheap. How much would it cost to get a brand new screen if everythin else works, and i went to my local apple store?

I doubt Apple will do anything since App exchanges iPod for a refurbished one but says:

Ipod Touch 5th Gen Black Screen - device inop

My daughter has an Ipod Touch 5th generation she received fro christmas in 2013. Yesterday she came home from school to find the screen black and the device non-responsive. Pressing or hold the power or volume buttons gives us no result. One thing we noticed right away was that the home button appeared not to work. When pressing down and releasing there is no click or apparent movement in the button. I do not know if this is normal, but from my searching it appears not to be. When attached to the computer, Itunes does not recognize the device. It sees no device at all. This Ipod stays in an Otterbox Defender case at all times.
My solution attempts:
1) Charge Ipod to ensure battery is not dead.
2) Attempting to clean the home button with isopropyl alchol. The ipod was held in an upright position the entire time to facilitate drainage and prevent the alcohol from getting under the screen.
3) Attach ipod to computer to see if Itunes found device.
4) Hard reset by holding power button and home button for over 10 seconds.
Questions:
1) Is home button supposed to click or move up and down?
2) Is the black screen/non-response related?
3) If 2 is correct,how do I go about fixing said button?
4) What is the warranty on these? I cannot give you more information other that Dec 2013 it was received by daughter and model number on back is A1421.
I have no idea what version of OS it has on it.
