IPOD TOUCH FROZEN HELP?!

Right, so i tried opening an app on my ipod touch (The new one) and it froze. So i tried to reset the device by holding the home button and the lock button. this is when the screen went blank and it stopped responding. I tried plugging it into the computer but it wont even regognise that i've plugged it in! it wont respond to anything i do! someone please help??

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • HT4436 I am using IOS 4.1 in Ipod touch. I would like to take my data back using icloud. I am not able to enable icloud in to my ipod touch. please help me for the same.

I am using IOS 4.1 in Ipod touch. I would like to take my data back using icloud. I am not able to enable icloud in to my ipod touch. please help me for the same. Basically I am trying to take back to upgrade my ios to 5 or 6 version.

You can't back up to iCloud until you update to iOS 5 or higher.  You will have to back up your iPod on your computer using iTunes.  Update iTunes on your computer to the latest version, then connect your iPod to your computer, open iTunes, if iTunes give you a pop-up asking if you want to update your iPod, decline.  Then click on the name of your iPod in iTunes, go to File>Devices>Transfer Purchases to transfer any purchased media to your iTunes library.  Next, go to the Summary tab of your iTunes sync settings and click on Back Up Now to back up your iPod on your computer.
When it's done backing up, click on Check for Update (or Update) on the Summary tab of your iTunes sync settings.  Allow your iPod to update, and leave it connected to your computer.  At the end, it will restart and give you the option to restore to the iTunes backup you made earlier.  Choose this option to restore your backup and sync your apps and other iTuens media to your phone.
This process is outlined in this article: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4972, under "If you are attempting to update using a Mac or PC with which you normally sync".

Just a guess here, but it sounds like iTunes is under the impression that some of the song files it is managing are located on a removable drive. Do all of your songs play from iTunes? That might be hard to know if you have thousands of songs, but if a song was imported into iTunes, but the file was deleted afterward (like if you used removable media), you might get a warning like that, and the song wouldn't play in iTunes. Just a thought.

  • IPod Touch Frozen- None of "normal" tricks working! PLEASE HELP!!!!!!

My iPod Touch went from working just fine to frozen.  No drops, no installs, nothing it just froze up.
Resetting didn't work, hard reset doesn't work, restoring to factory default didn't work.
    Can someone PLEASE help!!!!!!
FYI at the time it froze I was trying to connect to a wireless connection that was having trouble- in case that helps.

    - You said you restored the iPod to defaults?  Did you have any problem doing the restore?
    - Have you tried placing the iPod in recovery mode and then restoring?
    - Next try placing the iPod in DFU mode and then restoring.

  • IPod Touch frozen on Connect to iTunes Screen and cannot be restarted

My iPod Touch is frozen on the connecting to iTunes screen (The one with a usb plug pointing to iTunes logo) even when I plug it into my computer. Windows do give sound when I plugin, but it was not the successful connected sound but repeating the first note for three times =_=" iPod then appears the connect to iTunes logo, but it just stuck there. I hold the sleep/wake button for 5 seconds, it goes black directly, and windows would give unplug sound alert. But the iPod actually gives the white apple logo immediately without me pressing any button and goes back to the connect to iTunes logo. AGAIN. And computer gives ridiculous plugin alert then everything just go round and round and round.
Now iTunes won't detect it, therefore no restoration; Restart won't work either. If I press the sleep/wake button for 2 seconds without connecting it to the computer, it appears the apple logo, then go back to the connecting to iTunes screen immediately, and goes dark in 30 seconds.
Everything started after I updated new iOS for iPod touch, and I dunno how long would it take to run out the battery under this condition -_- I have updated to the newest iTunes version too.
Needs help urgently and thanks a lot!!

Sorry to hear that you're still having a problem. The only other help I could find is at http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/consumerelectronics/ipodfaq/ipod-how-to-restart-frozen-begin-troubleshooting.html
    Hope that helps.

  • IPod touch frozen and itunes cannot detect iPod?

It just began with me connecting my iPod to my mac and a window popping up saying "The software required for communicating with the iPod is not installed correctly, and you must manuually eject the ipod before each disconnect".I didn't know how to update it again (because my itunes is the lastest version already). You can't even see the contents (music, apps, books) of my ipod on itunes. I forgot to eject it manually today and now my ipod is frozen on the homescreen where all the apps are. Its been frozen for like an hour. I've tried holding the off button but to no avail.Now... my frozen ipod doesn't even show up on itunes. I need help!! (its a pretty old ipod touch with no camera)

Did you try to reset by holding the sleep and home button for about 10sec, untilt he Apple logo comes back again? If this does not work, try to connect in recovery mode, explained in this article:
iOS: Unable to update or restore

  • ``Ipod Touch FROZEN after one day!!

Hi, I got the Ipod touch 16gb and used it once, now it appears to be frozen. It starts up with the white apple logo with backgrounds and then goes to a screen with the USB cable and an arrow pointing to a music CD from here it stays and eventually turns itself off?
    Please someone Help Me??

Did you take your iPod Touch back to the store? I am having the same exact problem with mine as well. All works fine and then the touch screen will freeze but the buttons will work. A reset only fixes the issue for a very short time and I have done a couple complete resets of the device.
I may have narrowed the issue down some though. The iPod seems to work until email, calendar, or contact syncing is setup either through iTunes or directly on the Touch itself. It is not any of my apps I've gotten through the store because I tested it out with all my apps loaded and it worked great until I tried to sync email, calendar, and contacts. I even tried syncing just Calendar alone to see if it was one of the other two and the screen started to freeze after syncing the calendar two different methods. The only way to get it back to working correctly that I have found so far is to completely reset and wipe the device and set it up from scratch again. Deleting the data and the sync settings do not work.
Were you able to get some sort of resolution for this yet? I got my Touch as soon as the App Store was released so I could ditch my old Palm and still have my Contacts, Calendar, and the couple key apps I needed. A hard reset from scratch is definitely not a good solution for this. I started experiencing this problem before the recent v2.0.1 upgrade came out and was hoping the update would fix it but it did not. This is frustrating.

  • Ipod touch Frozen Screen

My Ipod was dead so I let it charge all night and when I woke up it was fully charged but the screen was frozen. It had the slider to unlock it but when I slid my finger over it nothing happened. Then i tried to hold the home button and wake/sleep button at the same time and it said that if I wanted to power off i had to slide the slider, but I couldn't! Now my screen is stuck like that! It has been like that for almost a month now and I don't know what to do! Some of my friends are telling me that apple will replace mine and give me a new one but I really don't want to do that because I have important notes and pictures and contacts that aren't on my Itunes and I don't want to lose them! Please help me!!

Hold the sleep/wake button down while at the same time holding the home button down for at least 10 seconds. When the Apple logo appears the iPod touch will be reset.  (if you reset it you wont loose any data)

  • IPod Touch Frozen up!!

My daughter's Ipod touch is frozen. The screen is showing a white USB cable and the Ipod logo. I plugged it into my computer and when it took me to I-Tunes 9.0 I receive an error message that the Ipod is pass code protected (which it is) and that I have to enter the pass code in order to proceed. Well, here is the problem, the screen is frozen! It won't let me enter the pass code, navigate through apps or anything. It just shows that itunes logo and USB cord. I have tried turning it off, resetting it so the white apple appears etc. Each and every time it takes me back to the logo and white USB cord. Every time I plug it into my computer and it loads I-tunes, it tells me to enter the pass code. Does anyone know how to get around this or what I can do? I have read something about wiping the whole thing out, but I don't know how to do it and I would hate to lose all the apps she has loaded. I'm not very good with computers and I'm new to Ipod's (especially the Ipod touch). Please help.
