IPod touch frozen on apple logo?
While running an app on my iPod touch 4th Generation 8GB, the screen froze showing the Apple logo with a small loading circle which isn't moving. It looks like the iOS has crashed on my device. I have tried putting the device into recovery mode (plugging into PC, holding sleep/wake and the home button) but I would appreciate if you could explain how to properly put it into recovery mode! After plugging the device into iTunes, iTunes recognized it. I don't know what to do and I'm completely clueless! Please help! (My iPod touch 4G is running iOS 4.2)
You said "After plugging the device into iTunes, iTunes recognized it." Then just restore via iTunes.
iTunes 10 for Windows: Update and restore software on iPod, iPhone, or iPad
If not successful then try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Ipod Touch frozen at apple logo screen
I try to turn on or reset my ipod and the apple logo appears and nothing happens. The ipod is not being recognized by itunes either? Any suggestions appreciated.
Thanks,
AugieI have now had this freeze problem on two iPhone 3G's and now my iPod Touch 32 GB.
Here is what you have to do.
Plug your Touch into your computer via the USB cable
Now press both the top switch (sleep/wake) button and the home button at the same time. Hold these two buttons down until the iPod Touch powers down and then continue holding both down until the Apple logo reappears (reboot). As soon as the Apple logo reappears let go of the top button and continue holding the home button down for about 10-15 seconds. You will then get a screen that shows a USB cable to be connected to the iPod Touch (it's already connected). Now the iPOd Touch will mount and via iTunes you will get a message to restore.
Restore takes a while so be patient.
This is a huge headache and the worst of it is that if you have an iPhone you lose the use of the phone itself. If you are out and about you cannot restore so you are without a phone!
Hope this works for those of you having problems. Post here if you still have problems.

Ipod touch frozen on apple logo and thinking circle
Hello. I just purchased an iPod touch from ebay. It is stuck on the apple logo and the thinking circle, and I tried rebooting it by holding the home button or by holding the sleep button. Neither one works.
Help?I assume that you tried to RESET it and it did not work. It is probably not connecting to iTunes to RESTORE I assume.
At this point I am not sure if putting the device in [*_RECOVERY MOVE_*|http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808] and then RESTORING it will work or not or whether you would be able to put the iPod Touch in RECOVERY MODE to move forward. If it doesn't work then I would recommend either taking it to an Apple Store for evaluation or sending back to the ebay seller for a refund.

Ipod Touch frozen - white apple logo on black screen
Today - after downloading a couple updates to Ap's - my touch mysteriously went to a black screen with white apple logo. I have been searching everywhere for solutions - and theone of holding the home and on-off button for 20seconds gets it to turn off and then come back to the same screen. I can't get it to do anything but this?
I have tried it while connected to my macbook pro and without it connected. I have all the latest software (except I haven't updated to lion yet after bad reviews!). Help me make this come back to life?

Ipod touch frozen on apple logo screen
I've seen all the posts about restoring and all that, but I don't want to lose my notes and contacts and stuff. Is there any other way??
Please help. Thank youIt's not jailbroken, and no it won't be recognized. But I was searching around the other discussions here and they say that I should hold the home/power buttons until it turns off then on again, then continue to hold the home buttonuntil itunes recognizes it and tells me to restore.
Are you sure restore won't get rid of my notes? -

my iPod touch stuck in apple logo.I try to recovered ,but after recovery start error message comes and says try later.what should i do ?
Try:
- Powering off and then back on your router.
- iTunes for Windows: iTunes cannot contact the iPhone, iPad, or iPod software update server
- Change the DNS to either Google's or Open DNS servers
Public DNS — Google Developers
OpenDNS IP Addresses
- For one user uninstalling/reinstalling iTunes resolved the problem
- Try on another computer/network
- Wait if it is an Apple problem -
My iPod Touch shows the Apple logo splash screen and then turns off.
When I turn my iPod Touch on, the Apple logo is shown and then it turns off. After a few seconds, it shows up again. It continues to do this non-stop. Is there anything I can do? Any help would be greatly Appriciated
Let the battery fully drain. It may take awhile. After charging for at least an hour. If the iPod does not cycle on and off any more try:
iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
Otherwise it appears you have a hardware problem and an appointment at the genius Bar of an Apple store is in order. -
My IPOD Touch 3G is frozen on the apple logo. It will allow me to reset it. The computer no longer will recognize it. I have tried on several Macs and it seems as though the problem is with the IPOD and not the computer since none of my MACs will recognize it.
You can try to put it on Recovery mode then restore it..
Press or Hold the power and home keys 10 seconds.
Screen goes black, now release the power button
Make sure you do not release the Home key until
your iTunes says "We have detected an itouch
in recovery mode."
After this its simple all you
got to do is a simple restore using your iTunes -

IPod Touch stuck on Apple Logo Screen
Today, I spilled some water on my iPod touch, but I dried it up right away. Now, however, the iPod is stuck on the apple logo. I've tried holding down the lock and home buttons and the screen will go black and then the apple logo appears again, but it won't go any farther than that. I plugged it into my computer to restore it, but my computer won't recognize it.
Did I kill my iPod, or is there anything I can do? It's less than a year old, so it's still under warranty, but is there any point in bringing it in?my ipod touch is doing the same thing. it is so frustrating because it is frozen on the apple screen with two lines and won't respond to the computer and sometimes it will go to a screeen we pink vertical lines with the apple screen in the background. i called apple yesterday and they made me wait a day but nothing happened. any advice?
