Ipod touch g4 not connecting to home wifi
Hi, I have an Ipod touch G4 has stopped connecting to my home wifi. i have typed the password carefully, turned my ipod on and off and reset the wifi network settings. my brothers ipod g2 can connect just fine though? I have a Netcomm super-G wireless gateway and version 4.3.3. I need some step-to-step help please!
- Try powering off and then back on your router.
- Reset your iPod:
Reset iPod touch: Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

Monday I got a brand new iPod 4 to replace my previous one, as the home button had failed unexpectedly. The new iPod is working fine, running the latest iOS but when I try to connect our secure home wifi, it won't accept the password. We have reset the password and I've reset network settings. We bought this itouch for our daughter for Christmas (2011), It has worked fine all this time until now. All of a sudden it will not connect to our home wi fi. All the other ipods/iphones/laptops and desktop are connecting fine so I know it is not the router itself. I have tried all the standard troubleshooting tips (forgetting the network and resetting it on the ipod, turning it off an on, plugging it in and updating the software, we even restored it completely from itunes as a new ipod). It lists the network as available but then when you try to connect it just sits there with the little circle icon thing spinning, trying to connect but never does.Please help!
So you also rebooted your router correct? Does the iPod still connect okay to other networks?

My new IPod Touch just upgraded to ios 7, but it wont let me get onto the wifi. I know i put in the right password, because i just connected with my IPhone 4s. Also my wifi is WPA security, if that helps.

the wifi was working fine until yesterday and now the connection won't even show up even though it works fine on my laptop. i've tried turning the ipod off and on, i've tried resetting the router, i've tried resetting the network settings on the ipod, still nothing. i can't do the thing where you hold down the power button and the home button because the power button is broke and the home button is almost broken as well. please help!!!
I have the same problem. I tried restart, restore software (even though it is brand new!), reset network settings, restarted modem + router. All my other non-Apple wifi connection are perfectly fine. Just the same message: "UNABLE TO JOIN THE NETWORK".

So last night I decided to turn off my router just by unplugging it due to my sister keeping me up. So basically when it got plugged in, everything besides the wireless internet works. I think it is more of the router than the ipod. Any information that you need I will gladly tell! I haven't had this problem before.

I realise this may not be a fresh topic but I've searched and cannot find an answer.
My Touch - more or less brand new - connects to my home wi-fi with no hassle. Syncs, the whole bit. Lovely.
But it won't work away from my home. It recognises wi-fi networks, let's me connect to them but won't actually let me access webpages or update my mail. The mail aspect is the biggest problem as I'm away from it most of the day and bought the Touch to solve the problem. It says it's updating but nothing is downloaded.
Accessing the internet, even with wi-fi apparently switched on, doesn't work either. I've even tried renewing leases on wi-fi networks but it still won't work. Please help.Hello
Couple reasons for why iPod Touch will not connect to WiFi Networks outside the house
1. They are using Mac Address Filtering. Which require the WiFi address in your iPod Touch to be programmed into their WiFi Router. Not much you can do to fix that unless you know who owns the network and they are willing to add you
2. The networks are running in 802.11 n Speed only mode. Thus iPod Touch will not connect as the touch only supports 802.11 B/G connections. They could also be using the old 802.11 (A) connection on the network as well
3. As stated earlier they could have outdated Firmware/Software on the router. Thus making the router out of date and not able to connect modern day devices. So if you know the owner it may be advised they contact router manufacture or their tech to update the firmware/software and see if touch connects after
4. Outdated Touch Software. Ensure you have the latest free version of the iPod Touch Software. If you have yet to get one of the paid versions you may wish to research and or see if a friend has a newer software on their touch and is able to connect to the networks you can not.
5. WiFi Network security the hot spot is using. Sometimes old standard WEP security can prevent Touch from properly connecting and getting on the network. It is recommended if you know the owner or tech that runs it to try and use WEP 128 bit 13 character password or stronger more modern day wifi security.
If they are using 40/64 bit WEP. Try adding a $ and then the password that they provide you and see if you can connect.
If you get the time please visit your local Apple retail store so they can further look into the touch and test it on the store wifi network. If for some reason it does not work there and they determine possible HW service is needed they will speak about your in warranty options. -

First, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
Finally, if the Restore doesn't work, let the battery drain completely. Then recharge for at least an hour and Restore again. -

Ipod Touch 16gb wont connect to my wifi anymore. Others can connect to mine and my Ipod can connect to all other locations except mine. It used to with no problem. I have restarted my Mac, my router and Ipod many times and nothing works. Help
My paper work for my linksys says WEP 64 bits. I've tried changing my IPOD to that and it will say put in password and when I do I get "invalid password" or can not connect. This has been in the last few weeks. I have researched this for the last 2 weeks, called apple and they said it's not my IPOD, called Linksys and they want to charge $30 to fix it. How do I change my router without totaly not messing it up?

My iPod touch is not connecting to my iCloud account, under iCloud settings it has my old email account and username that I have since updated and are working correctly on my iPad, any idea how I can reset this on the iPod or otherwise? This old account info keeps coming back on my iPod and messing up access to my apple account and now the icloud. last time a system restore needed to be done to fix it....
It won't give me the option to sign out of the old account, it's that light grey color that you can't click on. And since it has the old email address that it's telling me to go into to verify the account, I can't actually change it... I'm stuck
