my ipod touch gen 4 will not recovery after software update. have tried everything. device not recognized by itunes. any ideas?
Try:

- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Ipod touch 3rd generation will not sync to any computers, help
Ipod touch 3rd generation will not sync to my laptop, tried everything I can think of except getting new usb cable. Does anybody have any suggestions?
Well, even bought the usb cable today and that didn't help. Guy at Best Buy told my son to reset the ipod to the factory settings; so he did and it wiped everything off the ipod and now he still can't get it to hook up to his laptop so no way to get anything back on the ipod. Don't know what to do know. Getting frustrated.

I have a new Ipod touch gen 5. It shows up under my computer but not under devices in the side bar like it should with Itunes 11. I'm running the latest firmware for my new Itouch and the latest Itunes. I hope I don't have to uninstall my itunes as I have ALOT of music on it. I dont wanna lose it all. I'm running windows 8 and followed the tutorial to a "T" to try to fix the problem but nothing worked. I did everything except the last step. Even checking my Computer for Updates (Itunes will not run if updates to my PC are needed). Help Please!

My iPod Touch and iPad will not sync with iTunes, Windows crashes
I have done the latest upgrade on software for itunes, upgraded the software on both my ipod touch and ipad and now itunes will not sync. As soon as it starts the syncing process I get a pop up window (I'm on Windows XP) that says that there's an error and itunes has to shut down. I ran the diagnostics test and it says there's no error. Not sure what to do now.

IPod Touch 3rd generation will not sync music
My 3rd generation 32GB iPod Touch won't sync music. It will not even be able to start to sync. A message "The iPod "Cindy's iPod" could not be synced because the sync session failed to start." It was given to me in August 2010 as a gift, and it was bought from Costco in America. The iPod has been updated to IOS5. I am using a Windows 7 laptop, and this is the very same laptop I have been using to sync the same iPod for the past year and a few months. The last time I was able to sync it was February 26th, 2012.
When I drag music to onto iTunes to sync it with the iPod, it will not sync, and the song is whited out and has the syncing symbol to the left of it (but not swirling).
Everytime I unplug and plug the iPod back in to sync it, the songs I tried to sync from before are still white out, and they are still there even after I delete them (and unplug and replug the iPod back).
I have tried restarting the laptop, reinstalling iTunes, and turning off and on my iPod.
When I try to restore the iPod, iTunes won't let me.
Normally, if this happens, I am able to permanently delete the none syncing song from the iPod music library, and resync it by dragging the file from the laptop and putting it into iTunes. I have tried over 10 times, but the same problems happen each time.
Here is a screenshot of what I am talking about.

Thank you for your time, and I hope to hear from you soon.If you can see the iTunes Media folder inside your Music folder in your computer, put all your songs their and try resyncing everything in your iTunes. It should be able to work as that is what I did to this type of problem before. Hope it helps.

My iPod Touch 5th Generation will not sync properly
I plug on my iPod Touch like normal and its backs up all the files, but every time I try to "sync" it, it will not sync properly. I added a few songs (not boughten off of iTunes) and they will not sync on my iPod. My iTunes is up to date and so is my iPod Touch. What is going on?

I need some help. I want to sync my iPod touch 4th generation and it WILL NOT sync. I reinstalled iTunes and it still won't sync. I also let my friend use my sync cord, could that have anything to do with my problem?? I really need some help. So please answer me back if you know what could be wrong.
Could be the cable. Have you tried:

Ipod Touch 4 generation will not sync
I went to re-sync my Ipod touch and it seemed to be going okay. My itunes recognizes the ipod touch, but now it will not sync anything to it.
When I go into my ipod after it says "cancelling sync" I can see the music there but its in a faded lettering and is not accessible and all of my apps are still just in their waiting mode (like when you download them and they have the little bar going across the bottom) and all of the apps that are still waiting are ones that I have purchased.
I am really confused because my apple id and everything is the same from my computer to the itouch, no differences there but I pretty much dont have an ipod right now.
Any suggestionsTry unsyncing and resync all of your music again via iTunes.

Hello all, I am writing this message in the hope that somebody can help me to solve my issue with my iPod touch fourth generation. It has been unable to sync with iTunes, but shows up in windows as the iPod touch. I also had this problem with my older iPods as well (Ipod nano 4th Gen, iPod touch 2nd gen(Batteries done for that one)) I can sync music with iCloud, but I have a bunch of songs that are not in the store, and I sincerely want to add those, alot.
I've checked the "iPod appears in Windows but not in iTunes" with the link here: (http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1363), and followed that process, but to no avail, it does not solve the problem. I've tried to reset the entire ipod by making it enter DFU mode and then rebooting the entire iPod (shows up in iTunes in temporary mode) but once restored, does not appear in iTunes, but still in Windows detected still as a iPod, looks like the iPod and everything. I also have the most uup-to-date iTunes installed (10.5 I believe, just got it today)
This is extremely frustrating because that is why I purchased the iPod (and for the games and apps, those are great too). The iPod was also purchased three days ago, and the setup still didn't detect it. I am not mad at anybody here or the Apple company itself, but I have not found any help online with the browsing option (for support of course).
Please, I would absolutely love the help, i'd be eternally grateful for it.
-TylerNever mind, turns out that by uninstalling the programs "Megakey" and "Megaupload" it had resolved this issue.
