Ipod touch genre duplicates itself in my music list. So both genres have the same list of songs.. how can i correct this?
My ipod touch music genre has duplicated itself, with both list having the same sets of songs. this is very annoying as i have multiple genres that i listen to. how can i fix this
Now, is it synced via wireless or USB?
When I upgraded my 4 to iOS 7, I had that very problem. The phone said all my music was on it, but when I tapped on a song, it would show the icon as though it was playing and after a couple if seconds, it would skip to the next song.
Here's what I did: Reconnect and do another sync. Or, back-up your phone, do a restore and then trying syncing your files again.

If not caused by accidental damage, the iPod Touch includes a one year warranty. If your iPod Touch remains under warranty, you can call AppleCare or make an appointment at an Apple store if there is one nearby. If the iPod Touch remains under warranty you open the iPod Touch youself or by a 3rd party, doing so will void the warranty. If you live near an Apple Store, make an appointment to see if the store can get the button unstuck. If not under warranty, there won't be any charge for this.

The only way to track or take additional actions is if Find my iPod was enabled. Go to http://icloud.com, click Find my iPhone; if it doesn't list your iPod then it wasn't enabled.

- Try cleaning out/blowing out the headphone jack. Try inserting/removing the plug a dozen times or so.
Try the following to rule out a software problem

- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.

- Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. Seems you have a bad headphone jack.

Hello again Graham,sorry I spelt your name wrong on my last post ... Ok I went to the device manager and found a yellow mark. I went to it and selected re install driver. I then re booted my pc. I now have no yellow marks in the list but my pc still wont recognise my iphone.
Could I try anything else ?

Very simple. Turn off Find my iDevice, then Tap Settings, General, Erase, Erase all content and settings.

When i try to play music on itunes it says the original file cant be found. I have music on exyernal dive and it is working . How can i correct this?
See if you have most of the songs with 'Exclamation' symbol precede the name under your music library.
If so, double click a song with ! mark on side, you will be given an option to locate the file where the song is held. Select "locate" and direct it to your External Drive folder / file where the song is and open it.
iTunes then will give you the option to use this process to update all of your library. OK that as this will fix all automatically instead of doing them one by one. -

Call Apple Care. You are still under warranty. You also have 14 days from the date of purchase to return your iPod with no questions asked.
Take FULL advantage of your warranty. Posting on a message board should be done as a last resort and if you are out of warranty or Apple Care has expired.
