IPod Touch Google Calendar Colors

Hi Everyone,
Just wanted to share a trick I recently learned. As some of you may know, using the Google Sync function for calendars on an iPhone or iPod Touch doesn't necessarily sync the proper colors. This was personally driving me up the wall since I have had the same assigned colors for years. Here are the steps to make this work for you:
1. Go to m.google.com/sync from the Safari app and set up your device to sync with Google functions. Make sure it's syncing all your calendars from this site. In the iPhone or iPod Touch settings, you can turn off everything except Calendars if you choose, otherwise it will also sync Mail and Contacts.
NOTE: The iPhone and iPod Touch assign colors in the order red, orange, green, blue, purple. But, if you sync multiple calendars at once, it seems to randomize the color assignments each time.
2. Go to your Calendar app on the iPhone or iPod Touch and see how the colors are being assigned. If your PRIMARY calendar is not the right color, keep turning Calendar sync on and off in the iPhone or iPod Touch Mail/Contacts/Calendars settings (and tell it to delete calendars from the device each time) until your primary calendar is the right color.
3. Go back to m.google.com/sync in your Safari app and turn off all calendars except your primary calendar (you're actually not able to turn off your primary calendar). Go to your Calendar app and make sure the other calendars have disappeared.
4. Then, one by one, from m.google.com/sync, turn on each calendar in the order you want the color to be. Go to the Calendar App after syncing each one to make sure it's showing up with the color you want. For example, I kept doing Step 2 above until my primary calendar was blue. Then, I turned on the calendar I wanted to be red, then orange, then green.
If you currently have a calendar assigned to purple (especially if your primary calendar color is purple), you may need to make up a fake calendar just so you can get the color order correct and then delete it after the colors have been properly assigned.
Let me know if any of these steps are confusing. I am so glad I found a workaround for this!

Hello,
I'm yet to find a router that's in SkyHook's database too. This isn't a fault but rather simply that the coverage isn't that great yet. I've sent off my MAC address and Lat/Long to SkyHook so at least users in my road will soon know where they are!

    Hey Ken,
Try Resetting the Sync history as shown here: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2481
You can also setup the Google account as an Exchange account. This Google help article: http://www.google.com/support/mobile/bin/answer.py?answer=138740 provides more information.

  • Why won't my iPod Touch sinc Calendar via iCloud since I downloaded iOS7?

I downloaded iOS7 to my iPod Touch.  Before that, I had no problems with my calendar syncing via iCloud. With the new iOS7 I have no entries on my calendar on my iPod.  My iPad is fine.  I know I could go in to iTunes and manually sync my calendar, but I don't want duplicates.  Anybody have any suggestions?  I can't find an answer on the internet.  Thanks!   Susy

On the iPod touch, tap Settings > iCloud
Switch Calendars off then back on.
Give iCloud a minute or two to re sync the data.

  • Change Google Calendar color in Mac calendar app

I have seen a couple different threads on this but can't get a for sure answer from anyone..... If your using Google Calendar through the Mac calendar application, how can i get my individual event colors to sync?

    Hi cjoinfo,
It may be that "Show All-Day Events" is unchecked in the View menu:
Calendar: If you don’t see your events

If you don’t see your all-day events, make sure Show All-Day Events has a checkmark beside it in the View menu.
    Thanks,

  • IPod Touch 4 calendar sync problem

My iPod Touch 4 is set in iTunes to sync the calendar to Outlook, the only option available to PC users. The iPod software and the iTunes software are the latest versions. Outlook is the 2010 version. The iPod calendar works and the sync appears to work fine but when I open Outlook 2010 the calendar is blank. Perhaps iTunes is putting the calendar data in one place and Outlook is looking in another place? Can anyone suggest what I might do to get the two cross-platform programs to work together?

  • Just added an event to iPod Touch's calendar!

I was one of the assumed many who have not yet bought an iPod Touch due to the lack of ability to add/edit calendar events and contacts.
I walked into an Apple store yesterday just to check it out, like I normally do, and I was playing with the iPod Touch for a bit and noticed a little plus icon at the top of the calendar. I thought that was odd since you couldn't add events, but I pushed it and sure enough, an add event screen popped up and I successfully added an event to the calendar. I was amazed that I hadn't heard anything about this yet. I also checked out the address book and sure enough, I could add a contact as well.
Looks like I'll be getting an iPod Touch this Christmas!

Yes, it was added in the 1.1.2 update.

  • Ipod touch and calendar

Does anyone know if the updated software will allow you to enter calendar entries into the ipod touch and then be able to sync them to the desktop. This was not allowed in the original software.

Thanks. I've put off buying one since I wanted to be able to use it as a PDA instead of a Palm device. Does the latest software update address the issue of being able to store Word and Excel files once you've opened them in Mail?

  • TA44535 ipod touch with calendar and contacts?

Why can't I have a calendar and contacts in my Ipod Nano? I need it! I think many peoples need it!
Because its very practical,  you have in a clock (ipod nano) with "time maneger".
Will have this up grade in the future?

You aren't speaking to Apple here.  If you have suggestions to make regarding their iPod Nano, use the forum on this page.
    http://www.apple.com/feedback/ipodnano.html
It's likely they aren't included due to the 6G Nano's small screen real estate.

  • Ipod Touch and Calendar option

Is there a way two view two or three calendars without viewing "all" or just one individually?

    No

  • Ipod touch Google maps

Is there any way to set the distance readings to Miles instead of Kilometers when using this applications as i cannot find a way to do so.
    Thanks.

Not without changing your Settings -> General -> International -> Region Format to something else (like United States). That will change your date, time, and telephone number formats also. So you might want to live with Kilometers until Apple gets around to giving UK users an option./
Let Apple know you want that option here: http://www.apple.com/feedback/ipodtouch.html

  • Trouble syncing MS Outlook 2011 calendar with iPod touch

I use MS Outlook 2011 on my iMac for email, contacts and calendar. The Outlook calendar is syncing fine with iCal, which I know it has to do first since the iPod & iCloud will not sync directly with Outlook (go figure, MS & Apple still haven't figured that **** out!) It seems like every since I updated to the latest version of iTunes and iOS 6.0.1 on my iPod touch, the calendar is no longer syncing properly? I've checked all the settings in iTunes and on my iPod itself and there doesn't seem to be any reason why its not syncing? Do I need to update the iOS to 6.0.2? Or is there some other little hidden setting I've missed?

    @ Sambal:
My OSX is 10.7.5 Lion. I just gave up and decided to go back to Mac mail, iCal and contacts. I'm guessing the issue has something to do with the way iCal handles sync data from Outlook? Or perhaps the other way around? I did 2-seperate tests where I created a calendar event in Outlook and iCal. On the Outlook test, it synced to iCal, but wouldn't get pushed to my iPod touch calendar? (running iOS 6.0.1)
On the iCal test, it pushed the new event to my iPod within seconds! Also, when I created a calendar event directly on my iPod, that too would sync back to iCal within seconds as well. But not back to the Outlook calendar. It still amazes me that even today MS and Apple still have issues like this? I don't mind using Mac's programs, I just don't like how they have them all as 3-seperate running programs.
I prefer Outlook's all-in-one interface. I think Apple's software engineers need to do a complete makeover!

  • Why can't I get the iPod Touch in color with 16 GB?

Hi! Happy Thanksgiving. So I really want to get the iPod touch 5th Generation for christmas/birthday (they're pretty close to eachother) however the one I want, which is the pink one, is about 70 $ more than the black one. After searching around for a little bit, I discovered that it's because the colored iPods have 32 GB as the lowest option, while the back one has 16 GB as the lowest. I would be perfectly happy with 16 GB considering the price reduction, but I really only want it in the color. So, why IS it that the colors don't come in a lower option on GB? Thanks!
PS. If anyone finds any great Black Friday/Cyber Monday deals on the iPod Touch 5th Generation (colors) please leave an answer for that also! Thanks so much! x

    Bella.B wrote:
So basically... Apple just made that weird random rule..?
It is not a rule.  it is the decision that they made when producing the product.
They simply chose not to make the 16GB in other colors.

  • Mail No Longer Syncing To iPod Touch

Just did the iTunes update followed by 2.0 iPod update. Upgraded then from .Mac to MobileMe and from there on - it's been one enormous headache. My music and photos have been imported to iPod Touch, but Calendar and Mail is all missing. In fact I get an error message indicating that Mail cannot be imported as I already have that account on my iPod. What in the world does that mean?
    Any thoughts?
    Thanks,
    john

Here is the solution: After five hours of endless error messages and incomplete re-syncs, it all boiled down to this: Restore the iPod Touch via iTunes. Everything was first erased from the iPod but then everything- contents (photos, music and settings) were restored from iTunes perfectly. Finally now MobileMe is also on all my Apple products - including the heretofore frustrating iPod.
Hope someone can save themselves a lot of aggravation by trying this fix should the updates prove to be less the "seamless"!
    Cheers!
