IPod Touch has gone "dark"

For lack of a better word. I have adjusted the brightness to the brightest and it is just so dark I can barely see. I have to put it under the light. Anyone have this problem? I play the iPod on a cheap player at work, but I don't think that would make a difference. Would it?

Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Restore from backup. See:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

Try a reset. Hold the Sleep and Home button down for about 10 seconds until you see the Apple logo.

Try #2 and #3 in link below. If neither work, you most likely have a hardware issue.

    - If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod on the iPod in Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone. If the iPod has been restored it will never show up.
    - You can also wipe/erase the iPod and have the iPod play a sound via iCloud.
    - If not shown, then you will have to use the old fashioned way, like if you lost a wallet or purse.
    - Change the passwords for all accounts used on the iPod and report to police
    - There is no way to prevent someone from restoring the iPod (it erases it) using it.

I was using my iPod touch 5th gen. that I have had since Christmas, so it's not really that old. Well all of a sudden the screen got super dark and then scratchy like blurry and it went WHITE! It has NEVER been dropped, I've kept it in a Survivor Case. I charge it every night, I dont know what to do? Someone please give me some suggestions?

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • 3rd Gen Ipod touch has a dark screen

Started today, almost impossible to make out.  The screen is really dark.  I reset to factory settings and still dark.
Any suggestions on how to fix this issue?

When you restore to factory settings/new iPod via iTunes (Not via Settings>General>Reset>Erase all Content and Setting) and still have the problem that indicates a hardware problem.

  • Ipod mini screen has gone dark, and when backlight goes on v

Ipod mini screen has gone dark, and when backlight goes on the centre part with writing etc is almost black with light around edge. will this go? do i need to send it back?

Maybe your backlight is burning out? That's what I would think when the center is black but the edges have light. I'm not sure if a reset would fix the backlight but you can try (hold the menu and center buttons at the same time until you see the Apple logo and then release). If I were I'd send it back to Apple but do you know if you are still under warranty? You should be if you've had your iPod less than a year.

  • My brothers ipod touch has just gone off. someone please help me?

my brothers ipod touch has just gone off. we cant get it to come back on and it is fully charged is this something that happens alot and how do we fix it?

    Frozen or unresponsive iPod touch
    Try this first...
Turn the iPod Off... ( if it isn’t already )
Press and Hold the Sleep/Wake Button and the Home Button at the Same Time...
Wait for the Apple logo to Appear and then Disappear...
Usually takes about 15 - 20 Seconds... ( But can take Longer...)
    Release the Buttons...
    Turn the iPod On...

  • IPOD Touch has stopped being recognised on my computer

My iPOD Touch has linked to my iTunes sucessfully for a year or two until last week when it stopped being recognised. It is recognised when I plug it into my daughter's computer, and when I did this the iPOD software successfully updated.
Also my other daughter's iPOD Nano is recognised on MY computer.
I have re-installed iTunes and updated all USB drivers but problem persists.
The iPOD does appear as a connected peripheral on my computer.
I have tried re-setting/restoring the iPOD Touch. It has only gone into Restore mode a couple of times and iTunes starts downloading. However, nothing happens subsequently except an Apple Mobile Device has stopped working message appears.
    Can anyone help?
    John

I have now removed and re-installed every piece of Apple Software on my laptop. I assume this would result in the drivers being re-installed.
However, when I plug the iPOD in a message comes up 'Installing Device Drivers'. Then a message comes up that they are installed successfully, but it does also say 'Searching folders for preconfigured drivers...'. After 10 mins I assumed this did not mean anything and closed the window.
It is not convenient for me to check the other computer's drivers. Anyway, the iPOD used to work on this computer. The only thing I have done on this computer re device drivers is to start using a USB mouse (which installed drivers) and I also checked them all for updates. Only the Intel ones updated.
Needless to say the iPOD is still unrecognised in iTunes.
    Any further help much appreciated.
    John
