IPod touch has speaker symbol permanently showing and volume will not turn up
After having earphones in the iPod following a workout, the speaker symbol is permanently showing and the volume slide bar keeps sliding down to silent, I have tried a total dis-charge of the battery and also a restore to original settings but these have not worked. Please help
- Try cleaning out/blowing out the headphone jack. Try inserting/removing the plug a dozen times or so. There is a little switch in the headphone jack that disconnects the speaker when the headphone jack is inserted.
Try the following to rule out a software problem
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
- Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. Seems you have a bad headphone jack.

i have the ipod touch 4th generation and the screen is white, i was going to charge it and it turned white. I have tried to reset it but the apple logo will not show up and it will not turn on! i just got it for christmas... can you please help?
The way I did it was I got the free app sync:stream from the App Store and then added my ipod to my ps3's Bluetooth devices. Then went to audio settings and set output and input to 'Skaggs iPod' you then open the app and it will be listed under music as a media service. You then go to all tracks and click copy (press triangle) it will then begin to copy all of your songs onto your ps3 via Bluetooth. I haven't tried but I assume the same can be done with photos. I tried to download an upgrade that was recommended by APPLE, the upgrade stopped halfway through and the iPod Touch was turned off, now the iPod Touch has a BLANK WHITE SCREEN and is UNRESPONSIVE to the COMPUTER

The button on my Ipod Touch (the big one just below the screen) will not work when I press it. Nothing happens, when before it would wake my IPod out of sleep mode, and exit out of programs I was using (ex. ITunes or Safari to main screen) . Now, no reactions. How many times can I attempt the passcode before I can't enter it any longer...it has been over 3 hours and it will not let me re-enter it? My daughter forgot the new code she put in....
What dowes the screen say? If it just say disable and gives not time to retry then you have to restore the iPod
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

Since my IPOD Touch upgraded to IOS 8.1.2 it will not play well with my 2013 Charger's UConnect entertainment system. It will not build a library so I can not Browse or Shuffle. The only thing it does is list all the songs alphabetically when connected via USB.

Sometimes and ISO update breaks compatibioity and a firmware update the the dock is required or an iOS update is required.

Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears. When the red slider appears, release the Sleep/Wake button.
Instead of dragging the red slider, press and hold the Home button for six seconds.
