Ipod touch home button question
hey guys, this is my second replacement white 8gb ipod touch. lately, my home button doesnt always respond. i've noticed the button is loose to the touch. i have restored with itunes. will apple be able to replace the button, or the ipod? i REALLY dont feel like replacing the ipod AGAIN
Apple stores do not "fix" iPods. If yours is defective, it will be exchanged for a new or refurbished one.

IPod touch home button jammed?!
Hello, this morning I came to my ipod touch, only to find that the home button was jammed!! By jammed, i mean it is stuck a little too far into the home button socket, and takes an enormous amount of pressure for the iPod to register that it has been pushed. I am currently out of warranty, so should I try to find a "do-it-yourself-guide?" or should I take it in to Apple Store or Best Buy? Thanks so much and ill be looking foward to what you have to say!

I am having problems with getting my ipod touch home button to work properly. Is this a new issue or is it simply because I have used it so much? I don't remember it happening after a software update.

IPod Touch Home Button Doesn't Work
Hi all! My (Fourth Generation) iPod Touch's home button isn't working as well as it once upon a time did when it was new 2 years ago. I keep having to press it 3-6 time for it to bring me back to the home page. If I hold it down for a few seconds and then press the home button, it most of the time works. There are many questions similar to this but I wanted to start my own. More opportunities to get points right!
So, Any Ideas?- You can turn on Assistive Touch: Settings > General > Accesibility
- You can repair for:
iPod 4G - 8 GB - 99$
iPod 4G - 32 GB - 149$
iPod 4G - 64 GB - 199$

Baby sucked on iPod Touch - Home button doesn't work
My 1 year old grabbed my 3 week old iPod Touch 2G off of my desk and put it in her mouth. Needless to say everything went berserk on the iPod. Screen was flickering, touch didn't work etc. I turned it off and let it dry for a day. Now everything is working except the Home button. My question is, can I get this thing repaired or is Apple going to pull the liquid damage stuff on me. The indicator is pink now from her drool. 3 week old iPod!! This is my third iPod from Apple and will NEVER buy another if I can't get this fixed without hassle and extreme expense. I am upset... any answers would be appreciated. Thanks.

It IS liquid damage. It can't hurt to have it looked at, but it will probably cost you to have it fixed. -
Ipod touch home button stuck and the power will not turn on
Can someone help me? My daughter's ipod touch 4th generation has a stuck home button. We have changed the settings so that the alternate home button is on the screen; however, while she was using it earlier, the ipod shut off and will not turn back on. We have tried to plug it in, hold the power button, etc. Since the home button doesn't work, we can't hold the power and home buttons simultaneously as recommended. Any other ideas?
Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
When it says place the iPod in recovery mode, place the iPod in recovery mode using:
For PC
RecBoot: Easy Way to Put iPhone into Recovery Mode
or
http://joshuabailey1997.wordpress.com/2010/09/02/recboot-v1-3/
If necessary:
Download QTMLClient.dll & iTunesMobileDevice.dll for RecBoot
and
RecBoot tip
RecBoot may have problems on 64X windows, then try:
Tenorshare ReiBoot – Enter & Exit iPhone, iPad, iPod Recovery Mode with a Single Click
For MAC or PC
The Firmware Umbrella - TinyUmbrella
Installs blootware on PC too
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

I doubt it is worth the cost of getting an old 1G iPod fixed. Since there are very few apps that can be purchased now for the 1G -
I got my Ipod touch 4g used with an iOS of 4.3.3 on December 25th, 2011. It was February 7th, 2013 when the home button stopped working. Everytime I try to press the home button...it won't budge!
I have already restored it, got my data back on and deleted the other person's stuff, but I still can't update my iOSo the newest version so I will have the assistive hime button. Also, Ive already tried alchol but that won't work either. I don't have the money to go to apple or afford a new one. What should i do to fix this quickly without screwing my Ipod Touch up? I would really appreciate your help!
Thanks.

Yes, I have an iPod Touch which I just upgraded to the latest 2.2.1 software a few weeks ago. Now my "Home Button" will not take me back to the main screen anymore. I have to completely turn it off and restart it to switch screens and applications.
Do you know how I can fix this? It is becoming a pain to work with.
Thank you in advance.I am not sure if this helps, but one of my mom's friends said to place a drop of alcohol (rubbing) just on the button and it will work, or at least it did for hers. So I tried that and it works (for a little while), which has got me to wondering, if it is stuck?
