  • Brand new ipod-touch internal speaker suddenly stopped working all-together? Please help!

    Just got my brand new, white Ipod- Touch and was surfing on youtube, watched a video and mid video the sound just vanished. now no sounds come from the internal speaker whatsoever, but headphones still work. I have tried restarting it as well as reseting, can anyone help me?! Thanks a lot!

    That sounds like a mechanical problem.  You might want to insert and remove the headphone plug several times and see if it fixed the issue.  If it does not, call Apple.  800-275-2273 in the U.S.A. and I think Canada.

  • Ipod touch internal speaker

    Hi internal speaker stopped working after i last connected to itunes and downloaded a few more songs - i have tried everything   ive powered it off and on several times but still nothing and have finally just done a complete restore - but nothing doing - it works fine when you plug in the speakers/earphones but the second you remove them the sound stops and the sound volume bar dissapears - read that blowing in headphone socket may clean out dirt but i have done that and it didnt work . anyone got any clues at all?

    - You said you retored the iPod did not sya if yu restored to factory defaults/new iPod. Try that to rule aout a software problem.
    - Next I would make an appointment at the Genus Bar of an Apple store sincs I suspect the heaphone jack needs replacement..

  • IPod Touch: Internal Speaker doesn't work

    Hi,
    My iPod Touch was replaced ~6 months ago bec. the internal speaker was bad. This new one, though, the internal speaker doesn't work at all (except for the Clock/Alarm tones). The vol. button says "Headphones" on screen when you change the volume, whether or not the Headphones are plugged in. I've tried turning off and other things I've seen but no clear answer. Is there a fix for this?

    Have you tried restoring it?
    Can be a Hardware problem, go to the nearest Apple Store and see if they can fix it

  • Ipod touch internal speakers don't work

    My ipod touch internal speakers won't play; I get alternative selections as to where to send sound (headphones, docking station, AppleTV, etc) but not internal speakers.  I've hard and soft reset but no improvement.  I keep wondering if there is a setting I've overlooked.

    Apple will exchange your iPod for a refurbished one for $199 for 64 GB one and $99 for the other 4Gs. They do not fix yours.

    I would first dry the iPod for about a week in a desiccant like uncooked rice.

  • IPod touch 4G Speaker

    I have a iPod Touch 4G that I'm having a problem with. The speaker is not working no sound is coming out but look at this screenshot it shows that my headphones are plugged in but they aren't plugged in so no sound is coming out the speaker but when I connect my headphones sound does come out through my headphones and works good. Thats my only problem that the sound wont come out when I unplug or dont plug my headphones in. Any suggestions on what to do? I still have apple warranty so yeah...........

    Try the following to rule out a software probleM
    - Reset. Nothing will be lost.
    Reset iPod touch:  Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
    least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory defaults/new iPodIf you still have the problem you likely have a problem with the headphone jack in the iPod.  They can be replaced.  I would make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store to identify/determine the cause.

    After having earphones in the iPod following a workout, the speaker symbol is permanently showing and the volume slide bar keeps sliding down to silent, I have tried a total dis-charge of the battery and also a restore to original settings but these have not worked. Please help

    - Try cleaning out/blowing out the headphone jack. Try inserting/removing the plug a dozen times or so. There is a little switch in the headphone jack that disconnects the speaker when the headphone jack is inserted.

    You must have a third-party warranty since the Apple extended warranty is only for two years total. So if not covered by the Apple warranty contact that warranty provider

  • IPod touch 5g speaker faulty

    I bought my iPod touch 5g in late February and after about a month my speaker started to stop working properly. As soon as the volume hit just after half way the sound would start to buzz and fizz, this really scared me so I then used it only up to half way. I thought it was only going to be a one off thing and would go away  but it is now 7 months later and still fizzes and buzzes when I put the volume up high. Is it possible to fix?

    If your iPod is defective and has not been abused, Apple will exchange it at no cost.

  • Using iPod touch with speaker dock

    I put my iPod touch on my speaker dock, and it connects and charges. But, the music just comes out of the iPod and not the speaker. How do I get it to come out of the speaker?

    Make sure the iPod is correctly sitting on the dock. I had exactly the same problem with my iPhone. Try moving your iPod around abit while its sitting on the dock, moving it forwards and backwards slightly. Overall your more than likely to have to take your speaker dock back where you bought it from, or buy a new one.

  • IPOD Touch 3g 64G, applications jumping back to home page and random scroll

    Hi, I hope someone can help;
    I have recently purchased a 3G 64GB Ipod touch, I have purchased several applications for it over the last few weeks, as well as upgrading it to the latest version and ensuring I have the latest ITunes. My ipod has work fine up to the last couple of days and now I get the following symptoms;
    1. At random times in any app it will jump back to the home screen.
    2. Whilst scrolling around the home screen it will "jump" back to the previous screen or keep scrolling left until it reaches the search screen.
    I have tried the following;
    1. A full reset from the ipods menu
    2. A full restore from ITunes
    3. A hard reset (hold down power and center button until eventually logo apears
    4. Removing all apps
    5. Power off (using red slider) and back on again
    6. Removing all apps and only installing those that were workind a week ago
    7. Deauthorising my PC and then reauthorising followed by a full restore and resync.
    7. Throwing it at the wall and flushing it down the toilet (not really but I am getting that way :S )
    Any one have anything else I can try please?
    Thanks in advance

    Roaminggnome, I did think of this but I can't seem to make it happen in any way physical (gentle tapping around the button, slight pressure etc etc). Also I have now cleared everything with no apps on I can not make the fault happen any more this time around ???? I then loaded one app again no problems, I am currently doing one app at a time to see if/when it starts again is linked to one app

  • IPod touch 8GB: speaker? and can i use the mic in the headset if I buy it?

    As written in the subject line:
    Does the iPod touch 8GB have a speaker? And more importantly can I use it with the microphone in the headset, if I buy it?

    only the first generation of iPod Touch will not be compatible with the mic. so it isn't related to the capacity of the iPod at all.
    if you are planning to buy a new one, it will even came with the headphone that include a mic. if you are planning to buy a used one, make sure which generation it is.
