Ipod touch is hanged

ipod touch is hanged

Try:
iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Of not successful and you can't fully turn the iPod off let the battery fully drain. After charging for at least an hour try again
- If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

My IPod Touch hangs on startup, doesn't go beyond the apple logo.  Tried the reboot, doesn't help.
I'm thinking I need to restore the system, but it isn't recognized in ITunes either.
How do I force it to be recognized?

    - See if placing the iPod in Recovery mode will allow the restore.

  • IPod touch 4g hanged. what to do???

i have an ipod touch 4g. when i connected it to my laptop, an apple sign appeared on the screen with a loading sign. the ipod is not working since then. and i am not able to restore it too. what should i do??

Try a hard reset of the iPod.  To do this, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear.
If still no luck, try to manually place the iPod in recovery mode and restoring it.  See this article for instructions on getting your iPod into recovery mode.

  • Upgrade for 7.7.1.11 caused iPod Touch to hang in recovery mode.

Can anyone offer any tips on recoverying my iPod Touch from this issue?
I have searched and found the articles on "holding the power and home buttons at the same time, then using iTunes restore", but iTunes WILL NOT RESTORE the iTouch! If fails with this error: The iPod "iPod" can not be restored. An unknown error occurred (6)."
I cannot get windows to recognize the connection either.
That will learn me...never trust update buttons, without checking for problem issues first!
Please some iPod Touch/iTunes guru reply.
    Thanks,
    nitefisher

I found the answer on an older post that was posted on the iTouch group.
Use another computer with iTunes to recover/restore the iTouch from recovery mode.
I guess being a newbie put me at a disadvantage.
Thanks for the answer and opportunity to post.

  • Ipod touch restore hangs

How do I get my ipod touch to restore. When I hit restore, it just says "Preapring ipod for restore". Then 10 minutes pass and nothing happens. The touch got messed up when I upgraded to iTunes 10.0.1 and iTunes told me it was "Over capacity".
    thanks

    1. Disconnect the USB cable from the iPod touch, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
    2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the the iPod touch to turn off.
    * If you cannot turn off the device using the slider, press and hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time. When the device turns off, release the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons.
    3. While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the touch. When you reconnect the USB cable to the touch, the device should power on.
Note: If you see an image of an empty battery with socket to lightening bolt symbol, let the device charge for at least ten minutes to ensure the battery has some charge and then start with step 2 again.
    4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When a screen with a Usb cord pointing the iTunes symbol appears you can release the Home button.
    5. If necessary, open iTunes. You should see alert text: "iTunes has detected an touch in recovery mode..."
    6. Use iTunes to restore the device.
If you don't see the "Connect to iTunes" screen, try these steps again. If you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen but the device does not appear in iTunes, see [this article|http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1495] and its related links.

  • I have an ipod touch 4g 32 gb. after a week of use, i noticed that sometimes, after i unlock , the homescreen hangs for about 3-6 seconds.

yes so this hanging issue is not all the time. it happens like almost half the times i unlock.
i tried restoring. initially it was ok. then i downloadded an app from the appstore. after downloading i unlocked my ipod and it hangs.
for sure it will hang at this time.
    then it continues to hang
    it is not jailbroken
and its not only the homescreen. its just the whole device. during this hanging time no button will work. the touch interface does not work. nothing. after 5 seconds....everything is back to normal ... it is very very annoying

  • Ios5 hangs iPod touch

I applied the iOS5 upgrade to my WiFi only iPod touch, and all indicated that it went well.
Then on reboot of the device it wanted some configuration; WiFI connection, "Backup to iCloud?" and "Find my iPod touch".
It is now stuck on the later one, and no mater if I choose yes or no, next won't go anywhere.
The only option I get is on the main button, to "start Over", "erase the device to factory resets".
I did find that when trying this the first time, I got a slew of Emails sent to my registered Apple account address asking for confirmation of the address.
Since I was not on email then,  I didn't respond, and now it has locked me out of my Apple account.
(I've done several iterations of revalidating, and it is in a loop!)
It knows my email, and I can validate via responding to validation questions and get logged in, but then it claims to send me a validate email, but never does.
    So;
How can I get Apple to unlock my account,
How do I recover the Ipod touch.
Because the iPod setup may be trying to validate teh recovery email, these may be related.
But, OTOH, even if I say do not try to recover lost iPod, it wtill won't progress in setup.
    Hints or help please?

    I found a solution:

Yes, it worked for me too.
Just some software bug - Argh....

  • ITunes 9 hanging on "backing up" my iPod Touch

I use: Windows XP + iPod Touch 2nd Gen
This morning I upgraded to iTunes 9 and my iPod to version 3.1.1. Everything went fine.
But iTunes is now hanging on "Backing Up my iPod"...a stripy bar that kinda moves/scrolls is showing. But it never finishes. I have tried stopping and starting the sync. I have tried restarting both iTunes and my computer. It still just hangs on this.
I should also add that my iPod is backed up/synced regularly (several times per day normally) so it's not like it has months of backing up to do and therefore it's taking ages.
Any ideas please? I have left it all day and it's now afternoon LOL!
    Thanks very much in advance

Having pretty much the same problem with my 1st Gen iPod Touch. I am getting the beach ball every sync. The odd thing is that the Touch shows that the sync is finished and even in the iTunes top screen, it say that the sync is finished, but the spinning sync wheel, next to the iPod Touch icon on the side-bar, is still there, although not spinning.
When I try to do a force quit, it says that my Touch is still syncing :/
    I am running 10.6.1 and iTunes 9
Hehe, did not realize this was a windows section, so I guess it is beach balling on both systems...

  • IPod Touch hangs / selects controls when my finger is above the screen 5mm

    Hi
    16gb touch
Playing songs - some controls fail to respond ie touching the volume slider is erratic. Sometimes playing videos or songs the ipod hangs and no amount of tapping the screen helps. I need to turn off and then on again.
Also sometimes the Ipod is sensitive and controls are selected when my finger is slightly above the screen. They all seem to light up and this eventually leads to a hanging ipod.
    Any help would be great.

    Ok well heres my opinion:
Its very hard to tell what is "normal" with new tech. Just because somthing is not what you expected doesn't mean there is a hardware/software problem. Im not saying somthing isnt wrong with your iPod however. There is still the chance that it IS a problem with software/hardware. What I would suggest is that you check out a iPod touch at an apple store near you or try out someone elses and see if it is working differently than yours is. Sometimes it more of just somthing you have to get used to rather than a problem.
Most things on the forums such as dead pixels, syncing problems, battery problems, are things that are very easy to say there is definately somthing wrong the ipod itself. But your problem with sensitivity issues may just be that your not quite used to the controls yet.
    Just my opinion.

  • Help: ipod touch hang up and can't restore

can any body please.. please help me.. after i erase the settings of my ipod touch 3g.. it hangs up on the apple logo with the rotating circle.. after restarting it does it all over again.. it takes me 2 hrs and more but still it is like that.. and when i did to restore trough the use of itunes it says that the ipod cant restore.. blah blah it is not eligible.. and after that i've power off and turn it on.. it still hangs up on that apple logo with that running rotating circle.. please help me..

Place the iPod in recovery mode using one of these programs and restore via iTunes:
    For PC
RecBoot: Easy Way to Put iPhone into Recovery Mode
    or
    http://joshuabailey1997.wordpress.com/2010/09/02/recboot-v1-3/
    If necessary:
    Download QTMLClient.dll & iTunesMobileDevice.dll for RecBoot
    and
    RecBoot tip
RecBoot may have problems on 64X windows, then try:
Tenorshare ReiBoot – Enter & Exit iPhone, iPad, iPod Recovery Mode with a Single Click
    For MAC or PC
    The Firmware Umbrella - TinyUmbrella
    Installs blootware on PC too
    OR
If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod on the iPod in Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone and use Remote Wipe to erase the contents of your device. If you have been using iCloud to back up, you may be able to restore the most recent backup to reset the passcode after the device has been erased.
You can also wipe the iOS device by installing the FindMyiPhone app on another iOS device and using that app to wipe the device.

  • IPod touch hanging

My iPod touch has been freezing. It would display the apple logo, then would turn to a black screen with a garbled bunch of memory addresses and the message "We are hanging here". This does not happen all the time, and often after several reboot attempts, it works. However, I would like to try to resolve this issue. I have used the "Restore" function in iTunes many times, but the problem persists. This started quite recently, after downloading a free app from the App Store. At the beginning, the iPod, would boot, then shut off and then a second reboot would work. It quickly ecalated into the problem I describe above. Any ideas? Suggestions?

If you only restored from backup before, restore to factoery defaults/new iPod.  Not not reinstall the app that you say started the problem.  If you still have the problem then it is likely a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • My iPod Touch 4G 8GB loads one webpage, then the internet hangs.

I let my idiotic friend borrow my iPod Touch 4G 8GB for one week, he brung it back and it's broken on the side. Other then that it's fine, screen, etc.
The internet worked for about a week after I got it perfectly. Now I go on it and it loads one webpage. after when I try to load another website it only loads about 10% along with the small loading circle on the top. it just keeps loading forever and doesn't stop.
I restart my iPod and I can yet again load up another webpage, then it hangs trying to load up another webpage as stated previously.
I tried safari and atomic web browser.
    btw,
    R.I.P. Steve

    I have pictures:
Webpage not loading (I don't play this game.) http://turboimg.com/p/xnk1317937176b.png
Also the iPod touch broken on the side: http://turboimg.com/p/udj1317937219q.jpg
Bad shot I know, but if you can see it's dented out and it's "opened" I can see the inside of the screen.
