IPod Touch: Is It Done?
So I have an iPod Touch 4th Generation.
And it's been dead for a while, like the battery has been dead.
I tried charging it, and then the USB cable pointing to iTunes music note pops up.
I know this sign for I have had iPods for years now and plugged it into my computer.
It then said it was in "recovery mode", and that I needed to "restore" it.
I hit the button to restore it, went through the process of accepting the terms and conditions, and waited for it to finish downloading the files it needed to download.
However, about halfway through the downloading process my iPod shut off.
I pressed the home button and the same sign came up saying "an iPod was found in recovery mode, etc"... but my download for the restoring process was still going.
So I waited until the download was complete.
At the end of the downloading process, another box showed up saying that it could NOT complete the restoration process because of a network connection timing out. My wifi is completely secure, and has a very good connection. I am not sure what it means by this.
I want to save my iPod but I do not know what to do!
Is it completely done?
Or is there still hope?!

Next try placing in DFU mode and then restoring.

Then try restoring on another computer.
Last, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

Your iPhone and iPod can share the same iTunes account. Apps can be freely shared and used by one or both devices. You can't use money in your iTunes account to pay for your phone, but purchased apps can be used by both the iPod and iPhone.

Try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc. -

You can usually find the wi-fi password on your router itself if you know the router's ID and password (not the wi-fi password). You can log into your router by putting its address (usually 192.168.1.1) into your browser's address window.

If you can't remember your password then have you tried getting it reset via http://iforgot.apple.com ?

You can plug in your device into you computer and open itunes and then back up all of your data and them restore your device but make sure you back up all of your data becuase the restore will delete all of the data. I hope i helped you with your problem

We have downloaded apps to our pc but we can't get them on our ipod touch. We have synced our ipod to our computer. We can't even get them when we are some where there is wifi. We don't have wifi at our home and was hoping to be able to plug it into our computer and get everything from our computer to our ipod but it doesn't work. What do we do?
Sync them from your iTunes library:

Note that you can only sync apps from the one syncing computer/library that yo can have. If the iPod was synced to another computer/iTunes libary or set up via wifi then to make this computer/itunes library your syncing computer/library:

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

I have an iPod Touch and I set a passcode yesterday. I wento unlock it today and it seams I have forgotten my 4 Digit Pascode. I don't know what I should do
I don't have the PC which I last synced my iPod to. I changed My PC a month ago to a upgraded version, I diddnt transfer any data to that pc. I have iTunes installd on that pc but I havnt connected my iPod to it at all. I tried to connect it to my new pc for the first time so I could make a backup of everything, but itunes sid I had to unlock my ipod to use it on itunes. I don't know it so icant make a backup.
My ipod has very special things on like wedding pics/vids and other things which I dont have of.
I am fully aware how I have to restore it (dfu mode) but I have no data of it
Is it possible to use a third party application (windows) to make a backup and itunes to restore?
Or can I use a third party application to unlock my ipod?
Or will I have to say goodbye to my only copy of things?
I don't want to risk any more attempts. I have done a number of tries and I'm upto "ipod is disabled for 5 mins" I can still do more tries but I don't want the minutes to go higher

How do I delete pictures? I don't see a delete button. These are pictures I transfered from my computer to the iPod touch.
Delete them from the sync configuration and sync again.

Ipod Touch 3rd Gen Don't Sync Music
Today, I Tried To Put Some New Music On My Ipod Touch. My Touch Synced And Then I Tried To Listen To These New Songs But My Music Player Frozed And Led Me To My Music Menu. The Songs Were Still There But I Couldn't Listen To Them. I Thought "It's Only These Songs, I'll Only Have To Re-Sync Them" But It Didn't Work. My problem is that i can't listen to some songs even if they are in my music list. By exemple, if i go to the "Artist" tab, i pick Avenged Sevenfold, i pick the album Waking The Fallen, i want to listen to Eternal Rest but the song does not play.
How can i fix that ? And what is the problem ?

How do I erase all the content and settings on my 8GB ipod touch without the password or the original computer? This is very frustrating and I think I have it in the DFU mode. I can't seem to figure out how to completely restore this ipod touch. Please help.
Did you get a message in iTunes that said iTunes found an iPod in recovery mode? If not then you might have not gotten the iPod in recovery mode. Try using this program to get the iPod in recovery mode:

ITunes-purchased TV shows sync to iPod touch (2G), but don't play
I've been fiddling with this for days now, trying to prep my daughter's iPod touch (2G, iOS 4.1) for a long family trip. Any suggestions here are much appreciated.
I purchased Vol. 1 of "Road Runner & Wile E Coyote" (a collection of 7 cartoons) via the iTunes store earlier this week. The files were downloaded without incident. I can play all of them on my MacBook Pro and iPad through the usual applications and apps. But... before I tried playing them on those devices, I tried -- unsuccessfully -- to sync them to the iPod touch, using iTunes (10.0.1, Mac OX 10.6.4).
When I sync, all the episodes are properly checked for syncing in "Sync TV Shows". The thermometer-like bar at the bottom of that window in iTunes shows that they will be added to the iPod and that there is plenty of room for them. After syncing, the files have definitely been added to the iPod: you can see the progress of the sync in iTunes, and another 1 GB of file space on the iPod has been consumed.
But I can't find them on the iPod to play. The "Videos" count in Settings > General > About is unchanged when I add or delete these shows, and they do not appear for playback in the "Videos" app. When I add or delete episodes of other TV Shows (also purchased through the iTunes Store), they appear or disappear as expected. There seems to be something about these shows (or their files) that trips things up.
In iTunes, the Advanced > Create iPod or iPhone Version menuitem is grayed out; I assume that the files downloaded from the iTunes store include both HD and SD versions.
So... iTunes believes it has copied them over, the files are copied over, but they remain invisible in the UI of the iPod.
Has anyone a suggestion for what I might try next?
