I have found it but cant get it to work again. Its stuck in a zoomed locked position

If it's zoomed in, try double-tapping the screen with three fingers. that should reveal the full screen with unlock options.

Then take it out of Lost Mode the same way you put it into Lost Mode: via the Find My iPhone App or www.icloud.com.

If when you connect the iPod to your computer yu can't make a backup:
- Contact a data recovery company

I may be able to help you .
If you backed up your iPod prior to it being locked you may be in luck.
1. Hook it up to your Mac or PC
2.Open iTunes
3.Click on your iPod (on the left hand side somewhere)
4.Click on restore (in the centre somewhere)
5.follow the onscreen instructions
Once you have restored the device there should be an option that says restore from back up.
Click on that.
Hopefully this works. If it doesn't please let me no.

I lost my 4th gen. ipod touch on my birthday two weeks ago. I decided to go onto icloud and put it on lost mode. When i was on icloud I set a passcode for it and today I found it under the seat of my car and I have forgotten the passcode. What can I do to reset it? (p.s. I have already tried pressing the home and lock button, and I have even tried using itunes "restore ipod to try and reset it).

i havent been able to use my ipod touch in over a year. its locked with my password and its stuck in recovery mode. ive tried to do the recovery process but it causes for you to turn the ipod off well i cant ... i hold down the sleep.wake button and the home the screen will go black but then when i release it turns back on. then when i connect to itunes it just tells me i need to unlock it. and im driving myself crazy trying to figure this out

So I have an 8gb iPod Touch 1 generation. My ipod touch has a frozen screen and all it shows is the iTunes logo with the small white arrow and usb cord. I also think it is locked, plus I forgot my password . Anyways I connected my ipod touch to my pc (window xp) and itunes says that "iTunes could not connect to the iPod Touch because it is locked with a password. You must enter your password on the ipod before it can be used with itunes". The reason i connected it was to see if i can restore it but i guess it didnt work. Oh and one other thing my home button is not working, I guess its stuck.

to put it in dfu mode power off the power off the device by any means necessary. Once turned off, you should first press and hold the Home Button. Then, while holding the home button, connect the dock conector to the device and keep holding the home button untill an iTunes message appears that says "iTunes has detected an device in recovery mode."
With DFU mode, the steps are the same except, you would also hold the sleep wake button and the home button before connecting the device to the computer. Then connect the cable to the device and let go of only the sleep/wake button at the top of the device.
This method differs depending on the device and the person you talk to, but for me, this works when needed if the above steps are followed.

You'll need to connect it to the iTunes library you normally sync it with and restore it. If iTunes asks you for this passcode before it will let you proceed, connect the iPod to iTunes in recovery mode instead using the instructions in this Apple support document.

IPhone is locked and in lost mode and cannot get it sorted.

My iPhone was stolen, but I managed to get it back. However I put it in Lost Mode while it was gone and now that I have it back I cannot seem to get it out of Lost Mode. Just synced and updated os for ipod touch 5th gen and have lost game data - restore won't get it back, is there anyway to retrieve?

Have new ipod touch and successfully transferred game data from old ipod touch, but today have updated to the new os (from 6.1.2 to 6.1.3) and now have lost game progress on several apps.
