Ipod touch is not appearing in itunes, but on my computer as a camera

i'm trying to sych my ipod touch, but when i use the USB cables my ipod does not appearing on itunes. Rather it appears on my computer as a camera.. Please help..

My Ipod touch is not appearing in iTunes i have tried restarting the apple mobile usb driver and i have uninstalled then re-installed itunes and still it is not appearing although it is picked up by my computer i.e. my device can be found under my computer but all that my ipod touch does while it is plugged into my computer is charge, ipod nano appears in iTunes but my ipod touch doesn't... can someone help me please????

This exact thing has happened to my ipod touch. I plugged in the cable at first and it was recognized but it stopped a few seconds in. Now when I connect the usb cable to my laptop it either gives me the "usb device not recognized" error or it won't even register but the battery icon says it's being charged.

However, after your remove the Apple software components also remove the iCloud Control Panel via Windows Programs and Features app in the Window Control Panel. Then reinstall all the Apple software components

- Run this and see if the results help with determine the cause

I purchased the latest ipod touch for my daughter from an apple store but it would not display in Itunes on a computer running Windows 8.1.
The apple technician got it to work but in the process disabled the the driver for the CD/DVD reader. What gives?

I can not not connect to itunes using my ipod touch and it does not register in my computer .Tried reinstalling my itunes and still nothing .It registers in other itunes just not my main pc with all my music .

I tried reseting it by holding the menu and center button it stop but then it goes back to the apple logo screen and stay on untill the battery dies and nothing else happens how can I reset it to is factory settings?

When you connect it in Disk Mode, leave it charging the iPod Battery till Full Charge.
In the meantime, 30 minutes or so into the charging, ( I just want the Ipod to have sufficient power for any harddisk Operation)
go to Window Explorer (or My Computer),
Select the Ipod, right click properties, ->tools->error checking->Check Now->fix error
After the error fixing (may take a while but then you still have to wait till the battery charging is complete.)
Disconnect the iPod from the PC.
Antivirus has a tendency to freeze Itunes sync Operation with Ipod Classic, causing a timeout, which corrupt your Ipod filesystem, so when iTunes cant read the iPod, it is pointing to this problem. Other causes is when your iPod hardisk is dying, or your battery is dying causing hardisk crashes.
My suggestion.
Connect your Ipod to the PC and run chkdsk, to fix any iPod diskerror, then disconnect it, after chkdsk complete. - Done above
Disconnect your PC from Internet. (just to make sure no nasties creep into your system while you syncing.
Stop the Antivirus program
Connect your Ipod to the PC
When Itunes Open up, Restore your iPod please, this is for iTunes to map correctly, to fix the corrupted filesystem.
When Restore complete, eject the iPod and reconnect again.
Sync your ipod, preferably manually Manage in small batches and disconnect after every batch, to check that all is well, since you got such a huge library.
When all sync is complete, and iPod disconnected, start back your Antivirus and connect back the Internet.

Ipod touch does not appear in itunes 11 after upgrade

I upgraded my mac book pro to Mt. Lion and could still sync to my ipod. Then I upgraded my iphoto and itunes to the latest version. Now my ipod does not appear in itunes. I think I need to upgrade my ipod from 4.2.1 to io5, but cannot do that without being able to sync. What do I do. And do I really need io5 to resolve this problem?

Brand new iPod touch will not appear on iTunes.

I bought an iPod touch today, and when I plug it into the computer, it's recognized on my COMPUTER. However, the iPod icon will not show up on my itunes. I already did everything on the list for the apple troubleshoot on this topic with no luck. Any help?

I recently updated my macbook to osx 10.6.3. Within a few days of installing the new software, my iTunes no longer recognized my ipod touch. When I open iPhoto, I can still import photos from my ipod, but it doesn't show up in iTunes. I have restarted my iPod and my computer, and it still doesn't work. Both iTunes and iPod have up to date software. HELP!

I know that you have already stated that you have the latest version of iTunes, but have you checked ever since to make sure that you have the latest version of iTunes? If not, you can go to the apple website and look under iTunes and check the "updates" section to see if you need to update anything. Also, you may not have the correct size iTunes software. I know that for some people with 64gb on their iPod touch, if they have Windows, they have to get the 64gb iTunes software. I understand that you do not have a Windows, but this could possibly be the case. I will post more things for you to check/update/do as I think about your post throughout the day.

Ipod touch 4 not appearing in itunes

So, you know when you usually plug in your ipod or whichever device you use, and you enter itunes, you can access it by clicking on the top right button, for your ipod? That button isn't there. So, I can't sync my ipod, I can't edit any of the settings, nothing. Also, whenever I plug my ipod in, it always says 'my ipod', but now it says 'Apple Ipod' and I can't access any of the images I have on it.
Ever since I updated itunes to the latest version, it's been doing this. Does Itunes no longer support Ipod 4th gens? This is really frustrating me.

IPOD TOUCH IS NOT RECOGNIZED IN ITUNES OR ON MY COMPUTER

I have a nano, a shuffle, and an I touch. My nano and shuffle sync fine but my I Touch is not recognized by either Itunes or my computer and the message I get says to go to my nearest Apple Store. The nearest store is 200 miles away from me. I'm pretty sure my warranty has expired.
I have charged it fully although it was not charged when I started trying to sync. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Itunes.

I just installed the latest iTunes. It found my 64GB touch 3G no problem. An hour later, it no longer can recognize it (iTunes takes forever to load). This happ4ned 2 weeks ago, with the last iTunes upgrade. I had to restore it, losing everything on it. I won't do that again. I did not hing to my computer/itouch between working an hour ago and now. My iTouch is less than a year old. There is no excuse for it to be broken. There are no Apple stores by me, either. There is no reason for the iTouch to stop being recognized randomly.
