IPod Touch is stuck on "Connect To iTunes" screen
My iPod Touch won't turn on correctly. I'm able to reset it, and then turn it back on. But when I turn it back on it says that it needs to be connected with iTunes. So when I plug in my iPod, it comes up on iTunes saying that my iPod could not be registered because it's locked. Now I've realized that it says it's "locked" because there's a password you have to type in before it goes to the main screen.
There's no way to type in the password, however. Which means that it won't connect to iTunes. Which, in turn, means that it's always stuck on the "Please Connect To iTunes" screen.

I recently purchased a new laptop after my old one ceased to function. Therefore, I had lost ,my old iTunes, and my iPod is no longer authorized by a functioning computer. I downloaded the latest version of iTunes, plugged my iPod in, and tried to install the new iPod Touch software update. I got the error message that the installation had failed, and iTunes automatically ejected my iPod, leaving it in the "connect to iTunes" screen, in which it has been stuck ever since (about 9 days now). I have uninstalled and re-installed iTunes, have rebooted my computer numerous times, I have tried various holdings of the power button and home button as recommended on several help forums, etc. to no avail. I am using a Windows 7 (64-bit) system on a brand new HP Pavilion dm4 laptop with plenty of space and the newest version of iTunes installed. My iPod Touch (3G) is not being recognized by iTunes or by my laptop. I would like to, if possible, restore my iPod to original factory settings so that it can be authorized on my new laptop and will sync approrpiately. Any help anyone can provide will be immensely appreciated. Thank you.
Also, the iTunes is the version for a 64-bit Windows OS.- First I would remove and reinstall all the Apple software using the following and then restoring the ipOd.

IPod Touch still stuck on connect to iTunes screen after the restore. iTunes went blank.
Hi, I'm having problems with my iPod Touch. My iPod went off because the battery was empty. And when I tried connecting it to my laptop to recharge, the "connect to iTunes" screen suddenly appeared. According to iTunes I need to RESTORE it for it to work. And that's exactly what I did. However, after the restore and all, the screen is still stuck on the "connect to iTunes" screen.
By the way, it's a 2nd generation iPod Touch. And it's an MC model.
And to make things worse, my iTunes screen is totally empty. The RESTORE option is gone and I really don't know what to do anymore.

IPod Touch 4G stuck on "connect to iTunes screen" after iOS 4.2 install
Hi, I just got the new iPod Touch 4G. When I first plugged it into the computer, everything worked fine; iTunes recognized it, I set it up in iTunes, and I was even able to play with it temporarily. When I tried updating to the iOS 4.2, when the update was almost finished, I got an error message. Now it it just stuck on the "connect to iTunes screen"
Yes, I have the latest version of iTunes.
Yes, I uninstalled all Apple programs then re-installed iTunes (many times)
Yes, I have updated the drivers
Yes, my devices are "enabled"
Yes, the Apple Mobile Device Service is started and automatic
Any other ideas?I really don't know what happened but my iPod Touch is working now!!! Thank you so much! I have a brand new Ipod touch with front facing camera. Not sure which generation it is. My wife connected the iPod Touch and chose the restore option when connecting to iTunes. It was a mistake and by the time I got there, I saw the screen with USB cable with an arrow facing towards iTunes logo. I cannot get the iPod out of this state.

Ipod touch is stuck on connect to iTunes screen and won't restore settings.
So, I'll start from the beginning.
I wanted to update my twitter app, so i installed it but it took ages and so i pressed the home button and the top button at the same time. Then the apple logo appeared for over 30 minutes. The screen then went white and the 'connect to iTunes' screan appeared.
After connecting it to iTunes a box appeared saying iyune has detecehed an ipod in recovery mode. You must restore this ipod beofre it can be used with itunes. OS 5.0.1 Software Update So when i try to restore it the normal box comes up saying everything will be deleted. So i click ok, and another box comes up with iOS 5.0.1 Software Update. As i try to go through with this update when there are 8 minutes left to it my iPod automatically disconnectes itself and this message comes up again about the ipod is in recovery mode (above)
And now i dont know what to do as i cannot restore my ipod from my ipod or from my computer? I have tried re-starting it and i have the latest version of itunes.

Ipod touch 5 stuck on connect to itunes screen
We just purchased a used, factory reset, ipod touch 5 gen for our son to replace his 4th gen. we are attempting to "restore from itunes". i got the ipod to sync to itunes and everything is up to date, but the ipod doesnt continue onto the restart so it only stays on the "conect to itunes" screen! any ideas??! i tunes says that all our stuff is on the new ipod also. i tried manually restarting the ipod too but it just takes us back to the initial setups screen.

So I was trying to update my iPod touch and left the room, thinking I had plenty of time to get stuff done while I waited. When I returned there was a warning saying that my iPod touch couldn't be updated and my iPod screen was stuck on the "connect to iTunes". I tried reconnecting and iTunes will not recognize it. Ok what happened was I wasn't at my own house and and I wanted to put some new music on my iPod touch 3rd Generation. I had to update to the new itunes first. Then once I was finished I remembered I had to update my iPod touch so I clicked on update. Then at some point the ipod screen had the USB connect to itunes and a window comes up saying Windows needs to install driver software for your apple mobile device ( recovery mode ) and my computer cant find it. I have went into the device manager and when i click on properties for the apple mobile device recovery clicked properties and in the device status box it sais
"This device is not configured correctly. (Code 1)
There is no driver selected for the device information set or element.
To reinstall the drivers for this device, click Reinstall Driver."
I have looked to re download the drivers and I can't find them. The other problem is my primary computer is not working and if i have to completely reset my ipod i will lose practically everything because I have a feeling my primary laptop is getting reset.

My ipod touch 4th gen was given to me by a friend. It worked fine until it got the recent update ios6. when i went to install it gave me a black screen that had the connect to itunes symbol.I plugged it in and it instantly told me to restore my ipod. All i want to do is be able to use my ipod again so i said yes. Half way through each time it tells me there is an error something is not connected or timed out and it stops.I have tried holding down home/sleep button and rebooting but each time it brings me strait back to plug into itunes screen and does not give me slide to shut off option. I have tried plugging it into a different computer (my home and my lap top) i have plugged it into the wall. i have done everything i have seen imaginable.I tried calling apple one guy said he'd help even though it wasnt under warrenty but had to call me back and (surprise) he never did and the second before he would connect me to help said i needed to pay 20 bucks. I dont have the money to do phone service and the genius bar is an hour drive away. Is there anything i can try that i havent yet? Or a way to completely shut it down and turn it on like brand new out of the box? Im really stressing out over this because ive never had to deal with this before. Please help!!

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.

I tried to update to newest version via pc. I got error because i didn't have this recovery program disc that was supposed to come with the purchase so it says, but it didn't and now my ipod touch 8gb won't connect with itunes anymore and is stuck on a screen displaying an itunes icon with a usb icon.
oke i'm not done with the whole thing, but i'm doing that right now. Most of the advice I've already read didn't work and at a certain point it said something about shutting down programs then restart. but i notice that there are some pretty important system things in that list and i don't want to mess up my pc :s i'm not a pc genius... and because i'm dutch and my pc-language is in dutch I often have trouble translating and well... i don't always understand the technical stuff in all the articles -_-

IPod stuck on "connect to itunes" screen, Help.
Ipod touch 2g 8gb.
Here is my dilemma: Stuck on "Connect to iTunes" screen
The iPod wont change screen, no matter how i boot it up.
And it does not show up in itunes or finder.
It shows up in itunes when i boot in DFU mode (I think) but displays a warning that ipod is in recovery mode and need to be restored before it can be used with itunes. Now, when i click OK it disappears from the side bar and returns me to my library.
I have also tried to connect it to 2 different PC's and no trace of it shows up anywhere.
I have tried countless methods from youtube and google but got no satisfactory results.
I read a few places that iPod touch's cant be bricked. I have never tried any kind of jail break for my iPod.
I have run out of ideas.
Any Help or suggestions are greatly appreciated.I tried all the suggested fixes, too, including uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes. In the end, I had to disable my security and it let me restore the iPod Touch then.
Still can't get my music onto it again, but that's another discussion topic. -
I updated my ipod but it failed....
Now my Ipod touch is showing a connect to itunes image. When I connected it to itunes it said that I need to "Restore it". But I have video on it that I really, really need. How do I do this without loosing all of my footage and photos?
Please help!?You do not. You have to restore the iPod. You can then restoe from backup and get to where you were when the the last backups was made.
