Ipod Touch isnt showing up in Itunes

I was on the phone with apple a few times and it hasnt helped. I have the latest version of itunes. My ipod is being deteced by my computer and charging but its not syncing or apearing under devices. I reset it, and it just deleted all of my stuff and now i have nothing on it. The battery is very low and when i leave the plug in it, it says in the upper right hand corner of the ipod the little fully charged symbol even though its not. I really need this working and if any of you can help me in any way would be greatly apreciated!

Click Start. Click run. type 'msconfig.' On the first tab, 'General,' check the box 'slective startup.' Click the startup tab. UNCHECK 'iTunes Helper' and 'Apple Mobile Device.' Click OK. You will be prompted to restart. Restart your computer. Once restarted, a window will appear saying that you recently used MSCONFIG to make chagnes. Click Ok and MSCONFIG window appears. Choose full startup on the 'Genera;' tab and click teh startup tab and RECHECK 'iTunes Helper' and 'Apple Mobile Device.' You will be prompted to restart again. Restart. This time, when you click OK at the 'You have recently used MSCONFIG to make changes window, exit out of MSCONFIG. Plug in your iPod.

5 it is connected directly
6 used two dif cords and cords work fine on other comp
7 i have taken everything off

Why isn't my iPod Touch (4G) showing up in iTunes or in My Computer??

Well my iPod Touch (4th Generation) was working great until yesterday. I was trying to update the software (iOS 4.3.3) and after 4 HOURS it tells me that it cannot install the update and now my iPod won't show up in iTunes or My Computer and it is showing the screen it usually does before you set it up. I checked the Device Manager...(Windows XP) and it's showing up as "Apple Mobile Device." I tried searching for hardware changes but nothing is working...I mean I am constantly fixing the iPods of other people but this time I can't even fix mine...oh and as a side note I did restart the computer and then after a while turned it off...I tried restarting my iPod too but to no avail. Please help!!!

Put the Touch into recovery mode, then it should be recognized so that you can do a Restore:

8g Second Gen, iPod Touch wont show up on iTunes?

I use a Mac OSX, Snow Leopard.
I've tried several different chargers with my iPod, but it wont show up on iTunes. iPhoto will come up and say it's synced, and the iPod itself will show that it is charging. But it wont show up on iTunes so I can listen to my music or add songs. This is random, and has never happened before.
Any help?

I purchased a video while on my iPod Touch one night, but when I got to Sync my iPod, it won't show up in the movies section on iTunes, only on my actual iPod. Is there something that makes it so that purchases on your iPod can't be transfered to iTunes or am I doing something wrong?

Did you try to transfer it by:

It is a purchased video and not a rented video, right? If you have a 4G iPod rentals can't be transfered to the computer.

After update my ipod doesnt show up in itunes. i plug it in and you hear the bleep noise but nothing happens after that. All my drivers are up to date. i already reinstalled itunes and all the apple items that goes with it.

What version of iTunes do yu have? You do have at least XP with SP3?

IPod Touch NOT showing up on iTunes! I've done everything!

My iTunes sometimes freezes, and my iPod Touch (which is new) NEVER shows up on iTunes, maybe it's my external hard-drive? My iPod still doesn't connect with my external plugged out, and it shows up as a digital camera in "My computer". My old Nano shows up on my iTunes and My Computer, the original cable is not the problem, because my iPod touch shows up on other computers, not my desktop though. But anyways I've done a fresh, clean OS re-install, re-installed everything Apple (iTunes, Mobile Support, etc.) it shows up in My Computer, and it shows up in Device Manager under "Portable Devices" when it should be under "Universal Serial Bus Controllers", I have Windows 7 by the way. I'm having this problem as well. Did you ever find a resolution? I have a 2nd generation iPod and it doesn't show up as a device on my itunes account. When I connect it, the iPod icon shows up on iTunes but when I click the icon, it disappears. I can't figure out how to edit the content on my iPod. It used to be so easy, but maybe since it's an older unit it's obsolete?? So annoying. I have updated the software and run diagnostics, but its not recognizing the device. Please comment if you found any answers to your issue, it might help me too!
