Ipod touch keeps on restarting, never get past the Apple logo
Hi
I have a first generation ipod touch.
Since last week, as soon as I unplug the ipod from my macbook, it keeps on restarting and never get past the apple logo, until the battery empties out. But, when it is connected to my computer, it works just fine. I tried to restore it two times, but the same thing happens. I think it is too late to return it to the store: any idea what I should do with it ? Thanks for your help !
Hello, Welcome to Apple Discussions.
Is there any reason it is to late to go to the store and return it? Posted below are your service options for your iPod Touch if you are still within your warranty.

My iPod touch 5th Gen. wont start up past the apple logo, ive tried holding the power button and the home button, and it wont start up. What do I do?!?!
Try the remaining items of:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Ipod Touch 1st Gen not starting up past the apple logo
When I start it up i see the apple logo for about 15sec then it turns off. I've tried putting it into safe mode by holding the Power and Home button for 30sec but all it does is turn on and off twice then nothing happens.
Any ideas on how to fix this?Hi,
Would you please share you solution as I'm facing the same with my 1st Gen iPod Touch.
PS: iTunes does not detect the iPod either.

Apple will exchange your iPod for a refurbished one for $199 if a 64 GB one and $99 for the other 4G iPods. They do not fix yours.

My 4th Gen Ipod touch will not get past the apple logo
My 4th Gen Ipod touch will not get past the apple logo (unless the battery is dead, Then it tell me to charge it). Once it gave me the connect to itunes screen. I clicked restore in itunes but the ipod went back to the apple logo before the update download finished. I tried calling apple but my over the phone technical support just expired. PLEASE HELP!
This can be a corrupted software/firmware on your iPod touch. If the recovery mode you did was not forced, then try to force it into recovery mode. This is how:
1. Force it to shut down (note: this sort of shut down should not be preformed unless you are in a situation like this because it is a hardware shutdown and will not attempt to unload software, save unsaved files, safely stop system processes, etc.) to do this, hold down the power/sleep button and home button for about 7 or 10 secs. Also I might be incorrect but I heard that you can just hold down the sleep and home button until the screen goes blank and then immediately let go.
2. Have iTunes running. Hold down the home button and plug the USB cable that came with your iPod into it. Keep on holding on the home button until a picture of a USB cable going into the iTunes logo appears. You are now in a forced recovery mode. (In case your not so tech-savvy forced recovery is the same as a normal recovery mode that an iPod might do if it knows an update or restore failed.)
3. iTunes should have shown a pop-up message about it found a iPod in recovery mode. Click OK, click your iPod from the sidebar and click restore. The iPod will show the apple logo for a while and iTunes will say "preparing iPod for restore" and then "waiting for iPod" this was the longest part of updates for me.
4. iPod will reboot when restore is completed. When I update my iPod it one time showed the apple logo for one whole sync until it showed the slide to unlock screen, so do not worry. P.S if that does not work do a DFU mode restore ( I've been told DFU mode stands for device firmware update mode) I'm running out of room, so google it. Hope this helped ;) -
my ipod touch 4g 8 gigs is not turning on it wont get past the apple logo its not frozen because it turns the screen black and the apple logo please help me
- Try a reset.
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Then connect to your computer and try to restore.
- See if placing the iPod in recovery mode will allow a restore. For recovery mode see:
iPhone and iPod touch: Unable to update or restore
- If the logo still show all the time, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an hour try the above again. -
Ipod touch does not do anything stuck on the apple logo screen.
ipod touch does not do anything stuck on the apple logo screen.
You may need to hold the sleep/wake button and the home button until the apple logo appears. Or anther thing you can try is draining the battery until the battery is dead. That's what i tried and worked. You may need to do those things more than 2 times. OH anther thing is you can try connecting you ipod to your computer and see if it appears on itunes. If those don't work you can send it to apple. So that's what helped me I hope I answered your question.

My ipod touch 3g won't go off of the apple logo?
I had my ipod touch (3g) plugged into the wall(charging), I came back to get it and it still wasn't off the apple logo. Whenever I try and charge it, it won't go off the logo, ergo it ends up dieing. I've tried to push the home and power for long amounts of time. I tried to plug it into the computer, but it won't show up on itunes. When it is charging on the computer the screen will be on the logo for a while, then all of a sudden it will flash white and look as though it is "restarting" itself. I don't know what to do to fix it. I've searched the internet and tried everything but i haven't found anything that works. Please help! Btw it was on iOS 3 idk if that helps.
Time for an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. It appears you have a hardware problem.

Can't get past the Apple Logo when starting my MBP
Hi,
I recently tried to install a new programm on my macbookpro with mac os x. The installation was successful, but the computer restarted afterwards, and hasn't been able to turn back on since. I always hear the startup sound and see the apple logo with the little circle that rotates, but then nothing else happens. I have tried to use the "c" button to set it up again, but it doesnt work.
Does anybody have any ideas how I could fix it?
thanks a lot
raphaelRaphael, what kind of installation, an Archive and Install, an Erase and Install or was it the usual Upgrade (without Options)?
Try starting in the Single users mode (S key down) or a Safe Boot (Shift key down) and see if either works.

Is it possible to populate a value dynamically in a transaction variant?
Depending on the user, the field plant in IQ01 (Location tab) should be automatically populated. I know it maybe possible with a user exit; however, is it doable with a transaction variant? Any idea would be appreciated.
