IPod Touch launches Adobe Lightroom!

I've recently found that when I connect my iPod Touch (2.01) it launches Adobe Lightroom 2 rather than iTunes. Within iTunes the "Open iTunes when this iPod is connected" option is greyed out.
Any idea what's going on here? It's crazy!

Of course you're right. Thanks.
If I go to Image Capture it recognises the iPod as a camera and offers to download screen grabs. Lightroom 2 also seems to recognise that it's 'camera-like' but won't find the images on it. (I didn't mention that I've set Lightroom via Image Capture prefs as the default app to launch when a camera is detected.)
If I delete all screen grabs on the iPod then Lightroom doesn't launch on connection - but neither does iTunes and the option for auto-launch of iTunes remains greyed.
There have been several upgrades recently: iTunes to 7.7.1, Lightroom to v.2, iPod firmware to 2.0 and 2.0.1. I'm not sure which of these is responsible though I would assume it's iPod 2.0 since that's the upgrade that gave the iPod it's camera-like attributes. If so Apple needs to address this ... please.

  • Weird - my iPod Touch launches iPhoto

This is weird. Around the time I upgraded my computer to Mac OS 10.5.5, my iPod Touch starts doing this fun little thing. Every time I connect my iPod Touch to my computer it opens iPhoto.
Now it gets more weird. My wife has the same iPod. When I connect her iPod, the computer reacts as it is suppose to.
Does anyone have a clue as to why my iPod launches iPhoto?
    Thanks
    jon

    Hey John,
Do you have a camera roll on the iPod? Tap photos> if a photo album is displayed tap Photo Albums.
If you have iLife 08 you can goto iPhoto preferences and choose to not launch iPhoto when a camera is connected. If you have an earlier version of iLife, you'll have to make the change in the Image Capture Preferences.

  • IPod Touch launches iPhoto!?!?!?!

    Hey gang-
For some reason- and this only started recently- when I connect my iPod Touch to my Mac, iPhoto launches. Yes- I said iPhoto, not iTunes.
When iPhoto launches, it does to Devices and shows my iPod Touch and one image entitled IMG_0001.PNG.
I certainly don't want or need iPhoto to launch when I plug in my iPod Touch. Anyone else seeing this?
    I'm running iPhoto '09 8.0.1 and OS X 10.5.6.
    Thanks!
    Dave

Delete that photo from it, or open the General tab of the iPhoto preferences and set it not to open when a camera is connected.

I have installed the new Lightroom on my Windows 8.1 laptop.  When I double click on the icon through the desktop or launch native Windows 8, the application does nothing.  After trying several times I rebooted the laptop and it still does not work.  Anyone else seen this issue.

  • *PROVEN*Workaround with the IPOD Touch 3.1.3/ITunes 9/Windows XP 64 bit

For those of you who were frustrated by the fact that Apple doesn't offer support to users who are working on Windows XP 64 bit, don't fear because there IS a workaround.
    Prerequisite:
    Orca MSI Editor (http://www.technipages.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/11/orca.Msi)
    ITunes 9
    7-Zip (http://sourceforge.net/projects/sevenzip/files/7-Zip/4.65/7z465-x64.msi/download)
Step 1: Download Itunes 9 from Apple
Step 2: Use 7-Zip to extract all the available .MSI files from the ITunes installer (right click the itunesetup file, EXTRACT ALL)
Step 3: Right click ITunes 64.msi > edit with Orca > navigate to the launch condition table > change "Version NT64>600" to Version NT64>501" > save the file.
Right click Bonjour64.msi and do the same, save and exit
Right click Applemobiledevicesupport64.msi and do the same to that file
Step 4: Install Itunes first, Bonjour 2nd then the AppleMobileDeviceSupport msi (there will be several prompts asking about Windows device driver signing, click continue anyway and proceed until the support drivers are ALL installed) file last.
Step 5: Connect your Ipod Touch, Launch ITunes and you should be good to go!

  • I cannot download Adobe Reader app using my IPod Touch 4th Generation due to iOS upgrade.

I have an IPod Touch 4th Generation (the older model) and the highest operating system stops at iOS 6.1.6. Unfortunately, when I tried to download Adobe Reader app, it only works for the newer IPod Touch 5th Generation with an operating system of iOS 7.0 or higher. My question is that since I cannot download Adobe Reader app, is there a way for me to open PDF files on my IPod Touch by using Safari? There is no way I can find an Adobe Reader app that works for my operating system or an operating system that works for iOS 6.0 or lower. Is there another program similar to Adobe Reader where I can open PDF files that works for iOS 6.0 or lower?
    Thanks.

    Krispy2010,
Please note that my instructions are intended for Adobe Reader for iOS, not for all iOS apps in general.
Adobe Reader for iOS does offer earlier compatible versions for iOS 5 and 6 via the App Store.  Because the supported iOS version for Adobe Reader for iOS is 5 or later.
Tech specs | Adobe Reader mobile app
However, I cannot speak for other apps, such as Costco app and NFL app that you have mentioned.  It is up to each individual app developer/company to decide whether to take advantage of Apple's App Store's features to offer earlier versions.
Install the latest compatible version of an app on an earlier version of iOS or OS X - Apple Support
If a compatible version isn't available, you can try contacting the app developer. Look for contact information on the app's product page in the App Store or Mac App Store.

  • I have had an iPod Touch 3rd Gen for two years and the apps have worked fine in the past. Suddenly the apps will not launch, they appear to start then just exit. Is there a reason why it is doing this?

I have had an iPod Touch 3rd Gen for two years pretty much and the apps have worked fine. Suddenly when I go on an app it appears to launch then just exits. I tried turning the iPod off and on again, but that made all my apps behave like that. Settings and those things work fine still. Should this suddenly happen? I dont want to lose all 204 apps.

    - First try resetting the iPod. Nothing will be lost.
Reset iPod touch:  Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Next try downloading/installing a new app
    - Restore from backup
    - Last, resore to factory defaults/new iPod.  this is last result since you will lose app data.

  • Lightroom 4.4 can no longer import photos from my iPod Touch 5

I've been importing photos from my iPod via USB without problems for over 6 months. In the last few days, importing from this device slowed down significantly. As of yesterday, the program freezes completely when I try to import (although it had worked earlier - albeit slowly - during that same session.)
    I've tried:
Restarting the program, computer, and iPod.
    Closing all other programs.
Removing all other external devices from the computer.
Uninstalling the computer's USB hubs and restarting.
Deleting all videos from the iPod's camera roll.
Reducing the size of the camera roll (down to 650 from about 800).
    Nothing has worked.
I'm still able to import fine from other sources (an external hard drive & a memory card).
Weirdly, I plugged in my husband's iPod Touch - which until then had never been used in Lightroom - and it also froze at import, so it seems to be a problem with the type of device rather than the device itself.
I'm running Windows 8 64-bit with 3.3 GHz Intel processor and 6 GB RAM.

I too had a problem. iTunes wouldn't sync any photos nor list my iPhoto Albums.
I created a second iPhoto library and then added some photos and created several albums to see if iTunes could see the new iPhoto library. It did see the new library. I then started to add photos to it. I finally found the offending files - 4 .avi files - that for some reason when added to the library caused iTunes to balk. I removed the files and all is well. I even have other .avi files in the original library and iTunes responds normally - just those 4 caused the problem.

I have installed Adobe Lightroom CC.  In the process of launching, a popup appears, that says:  "AN INTERNAL ERROR HAS OCCURRED.  Cannot create the required folder:  /Users/(my user name)/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Lightroom/Develop Presets."  So even though Lightroom CC is installed, it will not launch.  What do I need to do to allow it to launch?

The problem was solved today.  Here's the full story.  I'm a Mac user.  At first I installed Lightroom CC on my iMac (desktop).  I had this problem so I called Adobe, and was referred to a "special unit" .  After about an hour the tech solved it for me ... we did a screen sharing and she took control of my computer for a loooong time.  Because of language difficulties, at first I wondered if she knew what she was doing but she eventually solved it.  Although she couldn't explain exactly what she was doing, she summarized it by saying "it was a permissions problem."  I asked if I would have the same issue later when I installed it on my laptop (Macbook Air).  She said probably not.
But I did.  The same internal error popup arose on launch and launch did not complete on my laptop.  I tried chat but no joy so I eventually called Apple Care.  I had noticed that on my laptop (and the iMac for that matter), that there was no Library folder after my user name.  The Apple tech explained that the Library folder is actually there but it is hidden because it's very easy for users to do some very nasty things to their computer by going astray while in the Library folder.  The folder is actually there, but they hide it.  I did remember seeing that the tech helping me with my iMac had typed the work "Library" while she was controlling my computer.  Basically she had activated the hidden Library folder so she could open the path that Lightroom was trying to follow to create that "Develop Presets" folder.  For some reason, the inability to create that folder in the launch process was preventing launch from being completed.  The Apple tech said she didn't actually have to do that and activated the Library folder by use of the Go selection on the menu bar.  Anyway, once that complete path was replicated and opened, the next step was to go to the Lightroom Permissions field and add my user name to the user categories already there and enable "read and write" permissions to my user name.  Once done, I shut down my laptop, and then rebooted.  I launched Lightroom and then boom, voila, heavens to betsy, etc. it launched and suddenly a dismal weekend turned into a great one.
I am not a geek, so I hope this makes some sense.  I also hope Lightroom launches again tomorrow and beyond!

  • How can I access and download earlier versions of Adobe Reader to put on my older model iPod Touch?

We have model PC086LL iPod Touched from roughly 2008 for our school that are rarely used anymore because we've updated to iPads.  But, I want to be able to use some of the iPod Touches to store files to access remotely in emergencies.  Unfortunately I cannot access earlier versions of the Adobe Reader app that are compatible with this version iPod.  How do I get access to those earlier versions?

    SGMS Knight,
Based on the model number that you provided, your device is an iPod Touch 2nd generation.
According to the following Wikipedia page, the highest supported operating system for the iPod Touch 2nd generation is iOS 4.2.1.
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_iOS_devices#iPod_Touch
Adobe Reader for iOS version 11.0.1 is compatible with iOS 5.  However, the App Store does not have the earlier version of Adobe Reader that is compatible with iOS 4.
As a user, you can download and install Adobe Reader for iOS only from the App Store.
You may be able to find other free PDF viewers that are compatible with iOS 4 in the App Store.
    Good luck.

  • Am I able to upgrade and Sync Adobe Flash Player 10 to the iPod Touch Safar

I have a faceBook account, on my faceBook in safari, not the faceBook App. from iTunes. There is a Game I play on FaceBook on my Mac in Safari but I can't Play it on my iPod Touch, it says in Safari that I have to upgrade and download the adobe Flash Player 10, I am not able to download the Flash Player on my iPod Touch of course but I am able to do so on my computer.
is There a way to have that Flash player 10 to be installed and working on my safari in my iPod touch?
I did try downloading and installing the Flash Player 10 on my Computer and then Syncing my iPod Touch with my Mac but that didn't work.
Does anyone know if this can be done, to have the Flash Player upgraded and installed in the iPod Touch Safari through the computer some how?
    Mrs. Trisha Foster

Adobe Flash is not available for the iPod touch so there is no way to install it and play games written in Flash.

  • Applications are failing to Launch on my iPod touch.

I have a second generation iPod touch with iOS 4.2.1  I recently received updates for many of my applications but now many of them won't launch. They either close out while loading up or they get to the main menu then close out if I do anything. If anyone has a solution I'd appreciate the help.

    - Reset the iPod, nothing is lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Purchase/install any new app
    - The remaining items of:
iOS: Troubleshooting applications purchased from the App Store
    - Last, restore the iPod

  • Nike+ iPod - Adobe Flash = unusable Safari on iPad/iPod Touch

If Apple does not support Adobe Flash, why did Nike+ iPod created their homepage on a 100% Flash based site? I can't seem to find the logic with this. Now I can't view my runs on my iPod Touch and iPad devices. They should have at least an app for this but there is none.

You will have to ask Nike why they did what they did.
I personally view Flash sites frequently but, obviously, not with the iPad. I calmly put it down and go to my Mac. If the Mac didn't support Flash, I'd have to buy a Windoze computer.
