Ipod Touch music playback: blip noise?

Does anyone else hear a short blip noise at the beginning of a track when manually starting a song or skipping through tracks?
Continuous/gapless playback works fine for me, no blips or squeaks.
This used to happen on my 2nd gen ipod nano, then a software update fixed it.

Hi Jason,
It's happening on all tracks- ripped from CD or bought from iTunes.
Restore didn't fix the problem.
This is actually my second ipod touch- the first one had this same problem, so I exchanged it for another hoping it was just a bad apple. But the newer one has the same issue unfortunately.
Any other ideas? Maybe I should just wait for a software update?
Thx

  • Ipod touch music playback

Under the latest IOs with my Touch 5, can I have it shuffle songs between albums and play them without repeats like I can with my old Ipod Classic?
I'd like to set it up so it shuffles and switches to a different song on a different album automatically, and also, NOT repeat any songs.
Is this possible with the Touch or will it only shuffle once an album is set and not shuffle between albums?

    Hello drshame,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
To shuffle your songs on the iPod touch all you need to do is simply tap the shuffle button as depicted in the article below.

  • My ipod touch makes a strange noise when makes the synchronization with itunes

At first my ipod touch began doing strange noise in differents situations. Yesterday I try to solved it doing this: I connected it to itunes a made a restore. I thought it was solved, but today the noise came back.  I could identify when it happens. If the ipod is off and I plug the usb cable, itunes starts and the ipod turn on, then the first thing it do is connected to the wifi network, then syncronizations began and the strange noise is heard.
    Some idea?
Do you think it would be neccesary to visit an apple store to solve it. My ipod is even covered by warranty.
    Thank you very much.

i went to go add this one song onto both of my ipods, one being the ipod touch 5.0.1 i guess, and the third gen ipod nano. When i added the song to both of them my nano has all the songs including the new one into it while my ipod touch music has been erased all for one song. How do i get back the songs from my itouch, can i restore it? Now when it tells me when i click on the music library on the itouch from itunes it shows me all the music i once had but when i go on my itouch it only has 1 song.
further information, i have my nano then i got my itouch.

go to the itunes app and got to purchesed
in purchesed go to music and this is a hard task but click on the cloud on the songs you want and they will download

  • Why does my ipod touch keep making weird noise when i plug in my headphone and when i put music it sound fuzy

The other day when I was on my iPod touch (8 GB) I put on music but then something when wrong. When I plug in my headphone and put music on, it sounded like I was hearing music under water, and it sounded fuzy and weird. Then I unplug the headphone from my iPod touch (8 GB) and I got my computer and plug in my headphone and put music, and it sounded fine. What should I do about this?

    - Try cleaning out/blowing out the headphone jack. Try inserting/removing the plug a dozen times or so.
Try the following to rule out a software problem
    - Reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory settings/new iPod.
    - Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. Seems you have a bad headphone jack.
Apple Retail Store - Genius Bar

Hi, recently my iPod Touch 4g started making "Hic" sounds when I'm listening to music. At first, I thougt it was the headphones, but after changing the headphones, the same thing occured.
I'm certain it's not the song file or the headphones.
    Any ideas?

    Ended up calling Apple.
    Getting a replacement iPod.

  • IPod Touch 2G Playback Has a Mind of It's Own

Hi, I'm having a major problem with my iPod Touch 2G 4.2.1. I'm using headphones with built-in playback control, Nuforce NE-7Ms, great headphones for the price, by the way. With these headphones plugged in, music randomly starts, stops, skips, fast forwards, etc. So, I did some tests to determine the problem. I tested a different pair of headphones with no built-in playback control and had no playback issues. I then tested the Nuforce NE-7Ms on a different iPod (Nano) that supports playback control from the headphones and also had no problems there. This leads me to believe that there is either a problem with my iPod Touch's headphone jack or with the firmware that is causing this. No problems with the headphones from what I can tell. The obvious solution is to use headphones without playback control, but I like my headphones and paid a decent amount for them, so I'd rather not. Anyway, I'm wondering if anyone has had a similar issue or has any advice. Thanks.
EDIT: Out of warranty, by the way.

I would try in this order:
    - Resetting you iPod
Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Restoring from backup via iTunes
    - Restoring to factory defaults, also via iTunes.
I also confirmed that they should work per the manufacture's website.

least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Restore from backup

  • IPod Touch iTunes Playback Initiation

    Hello,
I have bought a 32gb fourth generation black iPod Touch within this month of November. I have put 1,500 songs on iPod Touch using iTunes for Windows Se7en. I have only tested this through Windows Se7en, and would likely not return to a prior version of Windows in order to find the solution to this. That is out of the question. I bought iPod Touch for use with music, although Wifi and video and photo capability is all very great, it is a music playback device. Therefore, I want it to work with Apple iTunes just as though it worked with my iPod Nano. I believe my problem lay with syncing or updating, as often times I can see the top of iTunes (where song playback info is shown) telling me the iPod is being updated or synced to. Here is my problem below.
    The problem
It is quite simple. Unlike when playing songs through iTunes for Windows Se7en locally on my computer or through my iPod Nano, when I go to double click and initiate playback of any given song on iPod Touch through iTunes, I am given a one to three second delay on average, sometimes as many as under a minute. This is ridiculous.
I want my iPod to be my music device, not thought of as a Wifi device. I am not saying I would disable Wifi to improve the situation. That is absolutely out of the question. I bought this product and will enjoy every feature. My iTunes for Windows Se7en is version 10.5 and my iPod Touch is entirely up to date with the latest iOS 5 update as of this post's date/time.
I have done my best here to post a legitimate concern. How am I supposed to listen to a forty minute album if each song has a three second gap in the beginning. For the record, I did perform several searches through Apple Support Communities, often rephrasing and clicking several results. I did my best, and I would only like the best as a response. I have been a proud Apple iPod customer for five years now, and I look forward to some day purchasing more Apple products. Thanks go out to anyone who read this, but anyone who can help, I express deep thanks to. You must understand my frustration, if you are a music lover. Thanks again, and any information more needed, I will be happy to provide or detail you with.
    Thanks,
    JC McGeekster (Jordan)

Since I've read similar threads on this, I have to think it's a bug.
What if you create a playlist in iTunes with the Podcast's name on it?
I can't really think of any other way around this until it gets fixed.
Oh, and send Apple feedback on this issue - it will help bring it to their attention.

  • How do you sync iPod Touch music library to iTunes Match for transferring to/using on main computer iTunes?

Hello, and thank you for any help anyone can offer. I subscribed to iTunes Match to transfer my music that's been stuck on my iPod Touch (iOS 5.1.1) to my new computer.
First, some background to explain my problem. On an old laptop, I had 15,000+ songs (mostly video game music downloaded online) that I synced to my iPod Touch. The computer containing that music started having trouble and likely died. I was unable to afford having it looked at, but all the music from it has remained on my iPod Touch.
Recently, instead of trying to have the old computer fixed, I bought a new laptop. I was looking for a solution to get the music from my iPod Touch onto my new computer, since I know syncing with it would cost me every song I have on the iPod Touch that I didn't download on iTunes Store. I thought iTunes Match was the solution, that it would bring the music on my iPod Touch to the iCloud, and I'd at last be able to download my huge library onto the new computer from there.
Now, the problem: I had to purchase the iTunes Match service on my laptop iTunes. It put all my purchased music from the laptop on iTunes Match. Well, when I go to iPod Touch and try to turn on iTunes Match, it says: "iTunes Match will replace the music library on this device." I assume if I do that, it'll wipe out my 15,000+ iPod Touch songs from my old laptop and replace them with the 1200 or so that I've purchased from the iTunes Store (which I already have on my iPod)!!! That is the last thing I want to do! Is there a way of getting my iPod Touch library to the cloud so I can access it on iTunes, or have I wasted $25 on iTunes Match? If I wanted to replace the 15,000 songs on my iPod with the little library of purchased music on my new computer, I would just plug my iPod into it and sync! Furthermore, my purchases were already available on the iCloud when I authorized this new computer, without spending a dime. I've put a lot of time into my library, and making playlists as well. Any help getting my iPod music on iTunes Match is greatly appreciated! Sorry if I've overlooked something obvious, this is my first experience with cloud-based services.

iTunes Match does not work this way. The service does not scan the music on an iOS device, only an iTunes library. For your music to be available in the cloud it must first be in an iTunes library. See the following articles:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1848
    https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3991
An iOS device or iPod is not a storage device or backup of your music library. It is your responsibliity to maintain a backup of your music and other personal data.

  • IPod touch music dissapears from album view and other things

I'm honestly suprised to the fact that my old iPod video works better on this factor than the iPod touch I upgraded to.
My problem lies in the fact of syncing makes my iPod decide certain things stay on Album view and dissapear from it. To give an example:
Before sync - Album of Disneyland Music is still together on album view and nothing has vanished.
Add in another song to the compilation of music on the album for easy listening.
    Sync iPod
Album of Disneyland music has vanished completely and only the new song added in is viewable in the album listing.
Don't think that it's gone competely. I've searched and the music is actually in the iPod, just not in the albums listings. It's everywhere else listings on the iPod.
This has irked me ever since I bought the thing since another issue that just drives me up the wall. With my iPod video if I listed the music under an album it'd be sorted into the album with no problem. With the iPod touch however if ONE thing is off it gets sorted into its own lisiting on the Album view even though it shares the same Album title with another song. Example:
Old music that doesn't get recognized has to have information added in
    Albums are correct
    Artists are correct
    Sync iPod
Album listing has multiple listings from the same album with the artists as its sorting spot. (or if it even showed up at all...)
I've tried multiple times to fix this and nothing works. (and i've checked and unchecked sort by album artist, no dice.) I attempted to contact an iTunes help as it was partly on the program's fault, the helper didn't understand what I was talking about. Can anyone help me here?
and no I can't resort to my iPod video as I've killed the selection middle button thanks to a game. That and it also had an issue with connecting and I kept having to refresh it.

I looked in Compilations and the album that's vanished from Album view isn't in there. I checked via Artist view and the songs are there so the music is in the iPod but it's being a little wise sucker and not showing me the album in the Album view.
I fear for the videos I have to put on my iPod for class reference today...

  • Itunes/Ipod Touch Video Playback Problem

    Hi all!
I am asking all you Ipod guru's for some help and insights, as I am getting slightly frustrated...
    Background:
For a project at work I am trying to set up a video podcast feed with video's we have created for our customer.
The idea is that everyone at upcoming management conference will receive a Ipod Touch, with some easy explanation on how to -through a feed- download all our video's for them.
For that purpose I have set up a testfeed (checked and doublechecked) to get the videos into Itunes.
The feed works, the channels and videos show up under Podcasts and the videos are playable in Itunes (latest update) with no problems.
    Now the problems start:
When I connect an Ipod Touch, check manual syncing (I don't want to touch what is already on there), and drag the videos to the Ipod, the videos only show up under the 'recently added' category. The channel does not even show, and even though they are videos.
I can play the videos from there in Itunes, and they work fine.
When I eject the Ipod, and then want to watch the videos, I have to really search for them: they are under Music (!!), under 'recently added', and only play the sound, not the video (although the first frame of the video is shown).
To try and circumvent the problem I directly imported the video into Itunes, instead of through the feed (although that totally negates the whole idea to begin with), the videos nicely show up under the Video category in Itunes.
When dragged from there to the Ipod, all works. As I then want to see those newly added videos on the Ipod, they NOW promptly show up in the video category, and play perfectly, with image and sound, and fullscreen.
So, the problem is not with the video itself. What am I doing wrong?
(nothing has changed in the videos at all from the beginning of the process, the videos were already Ipod-ready)
Any thoughts, where do the problems originate? Can I do something in the feed already, or...?
Any ideas will be most welcome!
Thank you very much in advance.
    Peter
P.S. it's also impossible to delete the uploaded video's that ended in the 'recently added' category

Since I've read similar threads on this, I have to think it's a bug.
