Ipod touch--my email account is on my daughters itouch

Hey there! I am trying to set up my daughters new ipod touch. I logged onto my email account and I'm not sure how to get my information out of the system.

I have 7 email accounts and 7 mailboxes in the mail program on my iMac. I have the iPod touch set to sync all of them. Somehow 5 of the 7 mail boxes and accounts are being duplicated on the iPod touch. I don't use the iPod much for email and want to eliminate all but 2 of the accounts and mailboxes from it but I can't figure out how and I don't know why they are being duplicated.

Can you access the account on another device?
Have you tried when connected to another network?
Have you tried deleting the account from the iPod and reentering the settings since it is easy to make an error.

Try deleting the account from the iPod and try reentring all the information again. A lot of times it is easier to reenter the information rather than trying to find and correct the error.
Try Googling for how to setup the email account for your provider on an iPhone. You can try for an iPod Touch but frequently that does not exist.

I havent seen anything confirming this but I suspect not. that would require you keep logging in and out of the two accounts since you can only sign in to one at once. In iTunes on your computer if you log into another iTunes account you can't log into another one for 90 days. As I say I've seen nothing confirming this on a mobile device, but I suspect it will be the same.

Launch iTunes on your computer.
From the menu bar click Store / View My Account
Click the Edit button next to: Edit Payment Information
You can edit your billing information there.

IPod touchm notes disappearing off iPod - found on email account. How do I get them back on the iPod touch?

My Notes (yellow notes app) disappeared from my iPod touch running iOS 6.1.3 and found out here they'd been "synced" to my email account. Sure enough there they were. As suggested, I went into settings for the email account on my iPod and removed "notes" as one of the things to track. I checked the settings for Notes and there is no option to make the iPod the place to keep things (apparently, this is an option on the iPhone version of Notes). Now my test note has stayed on the iPod. But how do I get the old notes that are sitting in an email account back to my iPod?
Also, I'm not sure who decided "sync" should mean "remove from one device and put it on the other device". This is not most people's definition of "sync". It isn't done with email syncing. When I send mail (yahoo or gmail), from either the iPod or some other device, the sent mail shows up on both devices, not on one or the other.

Are you sure they are not there? Check your later pages. Syncing often reloads the apps out of sequence. Also check in iTunes under Apps that Sync Apps is checked.

Setting up two iPod Touches on one account with gift cards for app and in-app purchases

I have multiple devices on one account - 2 iPod classics, one iPhone 3G and two recently acquired iPod Touches for my 8 year old boys. They want to make in-app purchases (for Dragonville). They each have their own gamecenter ID. I want to set up each of them with gift cards for their purchases. Is this possible?
If not, what is the recommended approach to manage all devices in one place while allowing individual devices to have a seperate payment mechanism?

Create a NEW account/ID for her using these instructions. Make sure you follow the instructions. Many do not and if you do not you will not get the None option. You must use an email address that you have not used with Apple before. Make sure you specify a birthdate that results in being at least 13 years old

Settings>FaceTime
Settings>GameCenter
and Settings>iCloud if you want her to have separate Contacts Calendar and some other things.
Continue to use the same/common Apple ID for Settings>iTunes and App stores so you can share purchases.
To make sure you only sync the media yoo want, configure iTunes syncing so that only checked media is synced to the idevices.

I am thinking about buying the Ipod touch. I am used to syncing my email to a palm device (yes, I still use one). The folks at the apple store can not tell me if the touch can sync my apple mail inbox, so I post the question here.

When I fiddle with my iTouch - other than using it for listening to music - I'll click on the mail icon. I see both my Yahoo mail and gmail accounts snyc'd from the mother ship. So, yes, it does snyc your email. But I've heard that Hotmail doesn't work - only seems to be Yahoo and gmail. Hope this helps. The device is pretty wild.

Using two ipod touches on one account, playlist being deleted.

I have an iPod Touch 1stGen 8GB, and just recently, my roommate purchased a iPod touch 2ndGen 8GB. The Account is registered to me, but whenever he plugs his in to put new music on or take music off, it deletes his "On The Go" playlists. My iPod doesn't lose anything whenever I put it in, but just in case, I've selected to "Manually" sync music with both the iPods, and it still happens to his iPod. Ipod touch Yahoo email Error

Today when I check my Yahoo email from Ipod Touch, it display 'imap.apple.mail.yahoo.com' and cannot receive any email. Then, I try to delete and create the account again, it show me I cannot go through and validate with the same reason. What has happened? Any solution? Thanks.

to those who have this problem check your date on your computer if it's set right if it isn't then change it to the correct date because that's what i did on my ipod i had to change the date to the correct one

IPod Touch and email

I haven't purchased an iPod Touch yet, but I'm wondering about how it sychs with Apple Mail running on a computer that it's linked to. I read a few posts here and noticed that the email settings are transferred to the iPod, but it's not clear to me if email messages can be transferred between the iPod and the computer in either direction.
An example might be sending an email from the iPod while at a remote location, and then when docked, transferring that message to the computer to keep with other previous emails sent to the same recipient from the computer.
I realize that all this could be accomplished with CC's, forwarding, etc. but I'm curious if messages can be transferred directly, as if they were songs or photos.

Mail messages are not synced between the ipod and your computer, only the settings for your mail accounts. Not sure what your getting at with the remote location business. However the ipod touch supports both pop and imap mail accounts. With both types of accounts depending on who there with, you should have the ability to retrieve messages from multiple devices. You can retrieve a message with the mobile mail app on the ipod, and then later check the same account on your computer and retrieve the same messages there that you already retrieved on your ipod.

Is there any way to empty my Ipod Touch's email inbox?

Seems that with the update to iPhone OS 3.0 I can no longer empty my email inbox on my iPod Touch. As soon as I delete one message, the email program grabs an older message from the gmail server and I once again have a full inbox of 'unread' messages. As the mail program now always displays 25 new messages on my home screen, no matter how old they might be, the usefulness of the email app is greatly diminished: reminds me of the boy who cried 'wolf,' actually. Is there any way to stop this from happening? Even when I sync my email account via iTunes, the iPod Touch displays read messages as new. Is there any hope?

Are the messages marked as 'new' in gmail when you visit the site? Is your online gmail inbox empty?
The email app on the ipod touch isn't like the mail app on your mac, it doesn't download messages and treat them separately, it just shows you how your gmail inbox looks as if you were looking at it online. If your gmail inbox is full, your ipod inbox will be full. And a 'new' message will appear as new, no matter how old it is, until is read.
And syncing your ipod's mail app with itunes just syncs your account settings, the actual inbox and folders sync with gmail via wifi.
Hope that helps, please clarify if you're having a different problem (i.e. messages you delete from your ipod are returning, or messages you read on your ipod are not being marked as read.)
