IPod Touch Need Help asap...

Hi all, I just restored my iPod Touch successfully but how come
there's ONLY my iPod Touch logo under Device without the playlists
etc...And when I highlight my Touch, it just shows the iPod Touch
January Software Upgrade, not like before whereby there's settings
etc.
Please HELP me...am so worried right now...

Just dismiss the January update page and the Summary page will appear. You can then reconfigure your playlists and the January update (if you have it) will be copied across on your first sync.

If you iPod is defective, in warranty and not abused Apple will replace it with a refurbished one. They may or may not replace it with the white one. You will have to ask.
Other users have asked the same question but I hav never heard them come back with whether or not they go the color changed.

So it's my understanding that Apple will replace your iPod for a fee of $100 (I have an 8GB 4th gen iPod Touch). Is there any way for me to transfer files from one iPod to another? Also, would this transfer basically make the new iPod identicaly to the other?

All of your "files" should be on your computer. You can sync them to any ipod touch you like.

hi am looking to buy the i pod touch and was told that u can download from the tv on to it is this correct? how would i go about doing this? so i can transfer things i have recorded off the telly , please help am a complete novice as this will b the 1st i pod i have ever owned

Hi Lisa,
Not heard of any direct tv to Touch download facility but who knows, in the future.
As of now you download everything through iTunes on your PC with the Touch connected. In addition to what iTunes offers you can import stuff from your pc eg. music, video, etc. Obviously, you'd need to get it from your tv to your PC first! Video has to be in a compatible mpeg-4 or H.264 format.
If it's not it can be converted using applications you can get off the web,
some are free, others you pay for. There's also a convert option in iTunes.
I don't pretend that this is all simple but, if you get stuck, there are many postings on here that will offer more help and advice but you'll need to look for them!

My earbuds aren't working in my ipod touch..Help ASAP Please

When I plug in my ear buds onto the jack on the ipod it doesent reconize it and still plays out the speaker instead of the earbuds. When you look into the headphone plugin thing on the ipod is it supposed to be greenish light?

I do not know what the greenish light is about, but regarding the ear buds make sure they are seated properly (pushed all the way down). If you have access to a different set of headphones try those. That way you can rule out a problem with the iPod.

I was trying to update my iPod to iOS 5, an error occured, now the only option it's showing in iTunes is ''Restore factory settings''. Screen is blank with the icon ''connect to iTunes''

My ipod says i have no music on it, but when i plug it into itunes, and look under music on my ipod, its all there. NEED HELP ASAP!!!!! all the music came from a computer which i no longer have, so my ipod is the only place where that music is.

You had a glitch and the music files got corrupted. I know of no way to uncorrupt them.
You can try using a computer app like iFunbox

to see if yo can get them from the iPod in a usable file.
Otherwise you will have to re import them to your computer and sync

Itunes wont open/ file icon on ipod- NEED HELP ASAP!

My itunes will not open at all on my comp. I downloaded the newest version, then nothing would open. I removed all versions and attempted to re-install again. Now, my ipod will not turn on. There is a file icon with an exclamation point. I dont know waht to do and I am leaving for a long trip in a few days and need my ipod! any help asap would be greatly appreciated!

OK-
First, let's get your iTunes open.
Click on Start, Click on Run
Type msconfig
Click on the startup tab (last one on the right)
Click on "disable all"
Click apply, then click close
Go ahead and restart your computer when prompted to do so
When your computer starts back up, you should be able to open up your iTunes. When it opens, close it again. Now that we know it is able to open, it needs to be closed in order to resolve the file folder with exclamation point error.
Now, let's get that file folder issue resolved.
Click start, click all programs, click iPod, click iPod updater, click iPod updater (again)
Click OK when you see the dialogue that tells you what the application's capabilities are
Connect your iPod when it tells you to
Click on the "restore" button when it becomes available
IF the restore button does not become available, and if the iPod updater fails to recognize the iPod, disconnect it. Reset the iPod by (making sure the hold switch is off) pressing the menu button and the select button at the same time for about 10 seconds, until you get the Apple logo. As soon as you get the Apple logo, hold down the select button and the play/pause button together until you get a check mark on the screen. You may have to try this several times to get it to work... and sometimes it helps to lay the iPod down on a hard flat surface, like a table or your computer desk.
Once you get the iPod into disk mode, you can go ahead and try to restore it again. (Start > All Programs > iPod > iPod Updater > iPod Udpater) Click OK, Connect your iPod when it asks you to do so, and then click the restore button when it becomes available.

I don't understand why it won't let me delete the strikeout or underline in my Adobe Reader Touch. There is no clear option when I highlight it and write click and the "Ctrl-delete" option is not working either. I need to get rid of both of these. Did them by mistake....simple task but so frustrated that I have spent 30+ minutes trying to figure this out. Please help.

Stuttering flv playback issue- need help asap

We need help asap. Have a project is due to deliver today (5/14).
We have a video to go on a dvd-rom, live action with Motion Graphics behind.
When output is done thru Projector the Motion Graphics stutter as they scroll.
Here is more technical info:
Stuttering flv playback issue:
Prores 422 timeline 29.97fps 1280x720 output from fcp using current settings.
Mov file is approx 7gb, plays relatively smooth on a mac pro with no raid.
Frame by frame analysis shows all frames are present with no jumps tears or skips.
Tried several output paths, programs and settings to create a smooth flv file to no avail.
We adjusted data rates from 2k, 3.5k, 4k and 8k, no luck
We adjusted keyframe rates from low to all frames, no luck.
We tried cs3 flash encoder, cs5 media encoder, squeeze ect, same results.
Playback in the flash projector seems to choke slightly no matter what we do.
Have also posted in the Director Forum.
Any help much appreciated!

Here are a few ideas off the top of my head:
Try playing the file using a different xtra, sometimes different ones will work better. If you have Director 11.5, there is a native flv playback xtra.
You can build a player easily in Flash using the flvPlayback component, then bring that into Director as a swf.
Once you have the video in Director, try making the member Direct To Stage (DTS). If it is already DTS, try making it not DTS.
Make sure the video is not transparent, and nothing in Director overlaps the video... in fact, when the video is playing, nothing should be moving at all, and try to keep the amount of code that is running to a minimum.
Try lowering your video's data rate further or try using a different codec.
Using VBR (Variable Bit Rate) compression often makes the video appear to play smoother.
Try compressing the flv with different software. FFMpeg, for example, is free and does a very good job, often better than the Flash Video Encoder that comes with Flash/Creative Suite.

What email client? What version of Reader (I can only assume you even have Reader at this point)?
Please wait? I'm sure it says more than that, right?
Have you tried simply saving the PDF (it IS a PDF correct?) to your desktop and opening it from there?
Did you get this form from the IRS or did it come from somewhere else? If the IRS again, what version of Reader?

Use View > View Options, and set 'Sort By" to "Manual Order."
Then you will be able to drag-n-drop songs up and down the list.
