IPod touch needs rebooting

hi there
my 32GB iPod touch has recently come up with the screen requesting i connect it to iTunes. this is fine, but once i have connected it to my laptop, iTunes tells me it cannot access the iPod because i have a 4 digit security code, and i need to put this code in before iTunes can access it.
however, it is not possible for me to input this code, as the same screen keeps popping up
any help would be much appreciated

    - See if this program will place it in recovery mode since that erases the iPod and bypasses the passocode.

You say you have iOS 7 beta. If you are a developer you have access to the private OS 7 developer's forum

Otherwise you are on your own since you have a bootleg copy

If you weren't able to sync the purchases to a computer previously and now your iPod needs to be restored so you can't sync it now, then you may be out of luck and will need to purchase your content again. Officially Apple does not allow redownloads of purchased items other than iPhone/iPod touch applications and iBooks. The official statement of their policy can be found here, among other places.
You can try contacting iTunes Store Customer Service (select the "Music Purchases" or "Video Purchases" category, as appropriate, then "Lost or Missing Items". You'll find either an "Express Lane" button - just follow the instructions to get to the contact form - or an "Email Us" button) ") and explaining what happened. Reportedly in some cases Apple has allowed redownloading on a one-time basis. But don't count on it.
    Good luck.

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • IPod Touch Applications Reboot Router

    Router: D-Link DIR-615
So, I am finding applications that will use UPnP to reconfigure the router and add a virtual server iC5353 from port 5353 to into the Touch's IP:5353. The issue is that the router's response to making such configuration is to REBOOT come to a new consistent state with the new settings; it does this when we manually enter the settings and save the changes.
(The Virtual Server option allows you to define a single public port on your router for redirection to an internal LAN IP Address and Private LAN port if required. This feature is useful for hosting online services such as FTP or Web Servers.)
So, what happens is: when the Touch connects to the router, a reboot of the router occurs, the Touch reconnects, and a reboot of the router occurs again (cycling forever).
We know it must be an app because we have reset the Touch and it no longer causes the router to reboot. Restoring the applications puts us in the same situation, and taking some applications off and trying to narrow it down finally makes it stable again.
    Questions:
-Why does this application need to have such an opening, which in turn can be found by a port scan from the outside.
-Port 5353 has to do with Bonjour, but does it need an opening to the internet that directs traffic to the Touch for these applications?

Hi, I have the same problem. But not only from my iPod Touch but also from my iPhone 3gs and iPad.
Its like the devices are flooding with icmp for the default gateway.
I have been logging the firewall logs for a while and the icmp flodding is happening everyday. Not for some minutes but for hours too.
I have also seen it whith the iOS 3.

  • How can I tell if my iPod touch needs its battery replaced or if there is something wrong with the power connector?

About 3 weeks ago, I got pushed into a pool, fully clothed, with my iPod touch in my back pocket.  Miraculously, I was able to salvage it (or so I thought) by putting it for a couple of days in a dessicator jar and then recharging it.  It seemed all right until a few days ago, when it began having more difficulty being recognized as connected when I hooked it up to my MacBook Pro, my wall charger or my USB port in my car.  Last night it was working and I was able to play it in my car and to successfully sync it.  I surfed on it for awhile then forgot to plug it in before I went to bed.  The battery indicator was in the red when I woke up, so I connected it to my wall charger.  When I came back, it was right where it was - no charging, and moving it to a new outlet and changing cables did not help.  So, I tried hooking back up to my laptop, same thing.  I tried my husband's wall charger; still no connection.  I then tried hooking it up to the USB port in my car, but it sees no connection.  If it weren't for the fact that it got dunked, I'd assume that the battery needs replaced, but because of that, I fear it might be something more complicated.  Does anyone know if there is a way I can test this?  I'd hate to go get the battery replaced, only to discover that it still doesn't work.
    Thanks!

Apple does not replace your battery.  Instead it replaces your old iPod with a refurbished one (with a new battery).  When they see your iPod, the can tell that it had been in the water and will probably offer you an out-of-warranty repair ($99-$199).  If you want to take a chance on just replacing the battery, Google for a third party repair shop, but in that case, the risk is all yours.

  • ITunes Claims My iPod Touch Needs to be Erased

    Here is my issue...
Our computer was recently repaired. In the process, it was discovered that iTunes had some major issues. The technician did a thorough uninstall , including removing iTunes from the registry, and reinstalled it. I added all of our music back into our iTunes library, with the exception of playlists because those were lost. When I plugged in my iPod touch, iTunes told me to erase my iPod if I want it to sync with this computer. Windows was not re-installed, the hard drive was not replaced, and all of the prior system configurations remain the same (becides the fact was iTunes was reinstalled). I do not want to erase my iPod, as I have application data on it. Also, my family has 5 iPods, and that would be a very long process to recreate all the playlists, erase iPods, and set up the iPods as new ones. Any help or suggestions are greatly apprecieated.

    This is correct.
It will sycn with one and only one itunes library.  As you now have a new itunes library, you will need to erase and sync with your new library.

  • IPod touch: need to restore to previous update so it will work again on mac computer

    iPod touch:
    - my iPod has always been used with my desktop iMac computer, which has iTunes version 9 currently installed. It is updated to it's latest possible update, so I am assuming it is not compatible with the latest, iTunes 10.
While working on a PC computer at work yesterday, I accidentally okay'd an ipod update/install in where my iPod now cannot be opened on my home Mac computer. It says it requres itunes version 10 to run it, yet my computer is currently up to date with only iTunes 9.
Please help! .. is there a way I can restore my IPod back to the latest previous update so that it will still work on my Mac?.. will this require erasing all the data??..
    Thanks for your help.

I have since restored my ipod completely, erasing all content and restoring it to it's original settings.
I had to do this on the pc computer, as it still will not open/recognize on the Mac that I want it to work on.
I plugged the restored ipod into the Mac and got the same response-- needs iTunes 10, my computer will only update up to 9.2.1.
Besides the obvious 'time to get a new computer..', is there anything I can do to restore the ipod touch back to a previous software version?? This is frustrating!

I hope you really can help me i don't want to loss my iPod :(

  • Daughter's Ipod touch need apple id's?

We just gave our two daughters' iPod Touches.  I have an iPhone 4 and an already established e:mail and Apple ID.  Do we need unique e:mail's and Apple ID's for each of their iPod Touches in order to use Facetime, or can they use mine?

First set up Messages and FaceTime with your ID emasil address.  Then on each iPod go to Settings>Message (or FaceTme)  and add another unique email address on each iPod and then delete your email address.

  • New iPod Touch needs to connect to itunes?

    Hi
I just bought a new ipod touch and it didn't work out of the box. I had to connect it to itunes to register it (or something). Is this correct? The store assistant says all new ipods need this, but the Apple help desk person says it should work out of the box. Any comments appreciated.
I can't find anything on this via Search.
    Thanks.

No, you have to set it up and configure it with iTunes before gaining full functionality of the iPod.

If you can't remember the Passcode, you need to restore the device from the computer it was last synced with.

  • My iPod Touch 5g reboots randomly, help?

Sometimes my iPod Touch reboots randomly when I am using it. This mostly happens when it's below 50% battery. I got it for Christmas and it's still brand new. No fall or water damage, why does this happen? I'm on iOS 6.0.1 but I'll update today
